  1. We are 19 months away from our wedding and I am trying my hardest not to ask too early. We'll see how long I can last
  2. I was browsing and found these. Aren't they cute?! Gifts and Favors | David's Bridal
  3. Hi girls, I have done a quick search and found some discussions on European weddings. Is there anyone out there who has been married in Europe or is planning a European wedding? Some of the posts Re: European weddings are a bit dated, so I thought I'd bring it forward again My fiance and I are pondering the idea, since the Mexico-wedding-thing would cost us a lot (if we're going to spend at least $2500 each, why not look at other options?). Guess that's what happens when you live in the prairies (Canada)...the prices for advanced bookings to mexico are insane... especially for February, 2010. We were told around $2500 per person WITH the group rate. Eek! Anyway, just thought I'd see if there's any European brides out there...
  4. I think I'm going to give this a try starting Monday! I'm a bit worried though... has anyone had *ah hem* diarrea from it? It seems like it would clean out your system!!!

I'm in Canada so I expect it'll take a bit longer. My fiance surprised me and just told me he ordered them! I'm so excited!

I love the font and it's such a good idea to make the "personalization" part like a trademark. Very cute!

I have been to the one in Punta Cana, and will be getting married there in Nov. I have several family members that have been to the Palladium in RM as well, some more than once and we have nothing bad to say. I will see if I can get a hold of our friends that went there. That would be great. The pictures on Trip Advisor makes Palladium Vallarta look nice. They have a little "zoo" on the grounds too. I try not to read (or take seriously) the reviews as my fiance and I have never been to mexico, so we want to have our own views first. But it's hard because the reviews are great for the resort, but it's in our price range. I'm interested in finding out what your friends have to say Thanks!

But there are others who definitely won't. It's probably better to err on the side of caution and just go with something generic. thanks for posting this Yeah it wasn't something I had though of either, until I started considering what other people will think of the hard work that goes into the OOT bags. I am definitely personalizing the little, more 'disposible' things, but I'm not personalizing the bigger, more lasting things (i.e., mug and bag). The girls on this site have such great ideas about how they do things. I'm going with removable personalization (i.e., tags) for the mugs (maybe tied on the handle) and the bag (tied to the strap).

I ended up on a dosage of 1 pill one day, and then 2 pills the next alternating back and forth, so once we got that figured out, I think it was probably about 4.5 months. I think I was on it for about 10 months though all together. Please keep in mind I was on it about 8 years ago, so I can't remember all the details except the outcome. Hope this helps you and good luck if you do choose to take it. Hm..it seems like a common thing to be on it for long than the 4.5 months my dr recommended. Oh well. I made an appointment for June 26th to see if he will put me on it now, instead of waiting until October to do it. I have my argument ready because I don't wait to wait until Oct! Thanks for your info!
  11. we decided we're going to order the bags from Ailana Kai, so they'll be good to use if the guests want to dump out the contents to use the bag to transport magazine, sunscreen, and water to the beach with them. Tying a tag on it will be our best bet as well, because they can just take it off.

I think we will be just be putting a tag (that can be taken off) on the bags and if we put anything on the mugs, it may be a small palm tree or something....but I don't know. Definitely going to personalize the chap stick and we may do the "paint your own maraca pens" from OTC (see link below) so we could personalize those 12 Paint Your Own! Wood Maraca Pens

The worse thing was the risk of burning when I was on it cause I did take it over the summer and I was a lifeguard outside. I wasn't use to burning since I have olive-goes-strait-to-a-tan skin, but I wore high SPF sunscreen. A small adjustment and it was a good habit to get into. My lips were really dry though, so I also had hydrocortisone cream that I loaded on my lips at night and it worked great. The worse thing was the blood tests and I eventually got use to it - no big deal. For me, it was totally worth it. Is the hydrocortisone cream by prescription or over the counter? I'm glad to hear it wasn't that bad for you. Were you on it for the 4.5 months (that's what my dr recommended)?
  14. Thanks so much for sharing! I was wondering how the heck I'd find cheap ones!

  18. Hello fellow Saskatchewanian! I am totally feeling your indecisiveness! Though the clock isn't ticking too quickly for me, I can understand how you could be frustrated. Could you make a few samples and get some friends/family opinions? The plain (matte) black may be too "we threw this together", but if you put some samples together maybe your fiance will like others

Of course I didn't have insurance but about five years ago I went to a dermatologist. And it was going to be like 365 a month. I walked in the office sat down he walked in and instantly wanted to put me on Accutane, he hadn't even looked at my face yet. It pissed me off. They gave me like a twenty page book on it and I had to sign all these releasements. He told me first he had to "try other things to prove I needed it" so he prescribed me some cream and antibiotic to try for a week even though he was already putting me on Accutane. Seemed really fishy to me and I went home and read up on the internet. It freaked me out and I didn't do it. Well about four months ago I went to a different derm. in Ft Worth (what I should have done in the first place) and he put me on a facewash and antibiotic and my skin is so much better! Not as good as I want it to be but that will take time I am sure. I can actually not wear makeup and feel more confident. I had a friend that was Accutane in highschool. Her face got way worse before it got better. So, make sure you start WAY before your wedding like at least 8 months maybe more. But in the long run it worked great. She has beautiful skin now. omg I would have a tough time forking out $365 a month for it!!! My wedding is Feb 2010 so I'll have plenty time to get through it (and heal from emotional scars from the experience haha). I have heard that it gets way worse before it gets better...which SUCKS...but I thought because I am not in highschool, it may be a bit easier (co-workers would be more understanding than fellow highschool students I pressume I asked my Dr. if he could refer me to a dermatologist, but he said they wouldn't tell me anything different (than going on Accutane). It's not that my skin is horrible, I'm just sick of getting pimples and would like to be as worry-free (i.e., not worrying that my makeup is sweating off!) as possible on the beach Kat81 -- you're right...it is scarey. It seems like any side affect under the sun is a possibility. I've been reading on the internet about it, but it seems like only the bad things come up. I guess it's all precautions.

I had tried other meds and topicals but nothing did it...so my doc wanted me to try it not because I had terrible skin because I was beginning to scar and she wanted to catch it before it got worse. It is a pretty harsh med though and you have to be on the pill if you are of childbearing age b/c it can cause severe deformations if you get preggers. I had to go for blood tests every 6 weeks to check my liver and have a pregnancy test. It makes your lips and skin really dry which is not pleasant. I was on it for about 1 year because she had to play with the dosage to get it just right for me (the dosage was based on weight and I was in between). Now I rarely get a pimple at all, but I also try to be religious about skin care and it makes a big difference. It cleared up my skin and kept it that way. It worked for me, but I would suggest doing your research before you decide because it is a heavy drug and its expensive, so that is something to consider if you don't have coverage. Thanks for sharing the info! I have also tried several meds, including Diane 35 (which is a "birth control" pill that designed to clear up skin) and anitibiotics. My doctor has told me for the past 7 years (each time I have gone in to say I am not happy with my skin) that I should go on Accutane. Finally, with the wedding as an incentive, I am 99% sure that I am going to. He only recommends starting it in October though because of the summer sun, etc. I know it is a harsh drug, and I'm sure I could read everything about it and it still wouldn't prepare me for the actual feeling of the side affects. Did you experience anything major? I would like to get my skin to the point where I do not have to wear foundation (to cover up all the little red spots). I do have coverage, so it would cost me about $20/month, so that's really good. Thanks again for you reply! I don't know anyone who has been on it so it helps to hear what others have experienced.

  24. I just remembered there was a fantastic idea I saw in one of my magazines. It had personalized ribbon tied to one of the bag straps so that it kind of hung down onto the bag. I'll see if I can post the link to the personalized ribbon (hopefully it works!) Weddingstar Canada: Personalized Ribbon
