Well, I was just going for a random time in September because that is when my fiance starts slowing down at work. I had originally picked the 12th, but the reosrt didn't have that date available, so I changed it to Friday. So, yes, I am getting married on 9/11. But, my hope is to turn a very sad day into something good!

I'm definitely interested. I see a couple dresses I like on the website, but I need to go to Tysons see what they have and if they could get the dresses I want. I like style DR122A and DR110B. Maybe I can head down there tommorrow and check it out. I'll let you know!

Hi Ladies! I was just wondering if anyone has attended one of the bridal showcases offered in the area and if so, did you find it useful? Which one did you attend and where? I just wanted to see if there were any other local vendors for wedding dresses (besides Davids Bridal) that have reasonably priced dresses (as in, not more than $1000). Thanks!

I'm not using a travel agent, I'm just looking online for a good deal on flights and when I see it, I'll let my guests know via my wedding website and they can book their own flights. Yeah, I emailed her so I'll let you know what she says. My mother was bugging me about what would happen if there was bad weather so I thought I would check into it. I read somewhere on here about this insurance from Wedsafe for your wedding so that if for some reason the wedding had to be postponed, it would be covered. And if there are other issues like vendors not showing up, etc the insurance also covers that. It seems like a good idea because you never know what can happen.

Where are you having your wedding? I think #1 looks the best on you if you are having a more casual beach wedding or smaller destination wedding. If you are planning something more formal, than I would go with #3. Let us know what you end up deciding!

Good questions, I am interested to see what other brides say. I am definitely doing cake and toast at the DW site. I hadn't really thought about it for the AHR but more than likely we will there too. My mom knows a woman who owns a bakery at home so I'm sure she will whip something up. For my DW, it is going to end up being mostly friends and immediate family and then extended fam and friends at home. So I'm sort of in the same boat.

Does this man have a history of violence? Has he ever been in trouble before or did he just snap? It is such an awful situation and it also causes mass panic and a loss of trust in mass transit. Very sad...

Awesome honeymoon! I went to Whistler on vacation in 2006 and it is still my favorite winter spot. I'm actually planning to go back around Feb. 2010. When I was there, I actually had a conference in Seattle so my coworkers and I went early and stayed in Vancouver for a few days, then drove up to Whistler. The drive was about 2 hours (called the Sea to the Sky Highway)but it was so beautiful it went by so quickly. We stopped several times to take pictures. I hope you ski, because it is amazing. They should have a map that tells you what parts of the trails will be used for the winter olympics. They did when I was there and my coworker skiied down part of the trail. (I would have, but I'm not good enough yet). Anyway, I would definitely spend a few days at Whistler for the skiing, but I would recommend checking out Vancouver too if you haven't ever been. There are a lot of funs things to do. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
