  1. OK girl, you're talking to the queen of curly hair right here. UGH lol. Well I live in Colorado so it's dry as a bone here. BUT in Mexico I will become a brunette "Goldilocks" My FI loves my hair curly (I'm not a big fan but have no choice in Mexico lol) Anyway, I am doing the "put a few pins in it messy look" I will send you a picture of me and my curly hair if you want so you can see what I will be doing. Give me a little bit and I'll send if you want I know your hair will be gorgeous for the big day!
  2. I know it's been said time and time again but.....I would be completely lost without this forum. Thank you soooo much EVERYONE for all the great ideas and information. How cool is it to have brides getting married at the SAME place you are WAY COOL!!! To have first hand brides be able to answer questions for you and tell you what works and what doesn't. And, it's such a good feeling to be able to help others out with their questions, and save them a headache or two. WE ARE SOO LUCKY!!!!!!!!!! This forum has saved me a million headaches already! THANK YOU LADIES YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!
  3. YES ABSOLUTELY!!!! Our wedding will be on the beach as well as the reception. Our ceremony is going to be WONDERFUL!! We're doing a sand ceremony, have our own vows, and a few other things up our sleeve. The gorgeous rooms are just an extra bonus When chosing a resort I would think about what's MOST important to you. To most of us it's the actual ceremony. To some it may be the food and rooms, and others how many swim up bars they have! LOL. Everyone is different, but my best advice is to look for a resort that has the best over-all package to fit your needs. From the ceremony options to the reception to the rooms to the food ect. I know it will be great for you!!!
  4. Oh yeah, and as far as your hair and make-up: Don't worry about that either!!! You will be in paradise and your hair will look sexy after a few hours of sun and wind. I'm going to have a mini cooler and keep my eye shadow and lip gloss in there so it doesn't melt. Just keep the make-up light and re-touch your eyes and lips as needed.
  5. Well, My first thought is to be very stern with them and say something like this: "Although it's unexceptable, I understand things happen and my wedding date had to be changed. However, the time I originally requested is VERY important to us. We would appreciate a compromise; if we must change our wedding date, then we must keep our original time! I'm sure you and your FI put a lot of thought into the time, but if it must be earlier don't worry at all I know several people who were married at 11:30am. AND you will be away from home at a beautiful resort where time is irrelevant! Your guests will be more than happy to attend your wedding despite the time!!! It will turn out great!
  6. Yeah! Count me in! Lurking in the bushes taking notes sounds like a GREAT IDEA!!! LOL You both will have a blast!!!!!
  7. WOW you look gorgeous!!! I can't wait to trash my dress hehe
  8. Awww I am sorry that's a bummer! It's crazy you mention this because we've had 2 completely different people (1 couple was going to attend and the other lady was going to be in the wedding) anyway, Both parties have grand-babies due the week of the wedding and they cannot come either. It's hard cause you're sooo excited for them, but it's still a bummer. Everything will work out no worries
  9. Great! Thanks so much for the feedback ladies!!! A lot of help!!!!!
  10. Very smart of you to do a site visit. I actually may have a few questions if you don't mind? Let me talk to my WC here in Colorado and I'll let you know my questions. Thanks so much for offering!
  11. So, obviously we're all having DW so how is everyone handling their showers? We're having a small intimate wedding invited a small group (20 people coming)Are you all having showers and inviting only the guests you invited to the wedding? Or do I just skip out on the whole shower thing? (We don't need gifts, just have a donation website if they would like) What's everyone else doing?
  12. We were together 2 years when we got engaged, 3 by the time we get married!!
  13. That's AWESOME! I will totally be doing the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!
  14. Hmmm....Let's see the wedding/reception will be about $5,000.00 This includes the entire wedding package (ceremony, flowers, dinner, drinks, cake reception, live music, massages for bride and groom ect) photography, my dress, and his suite. Travel expenses are seperate. About $1,500.00 Per Person (that includes 7 night stay and round-trip airfare)
  15. Our wedding Package came with a seperate room for the groom the night before the wedding. Check to see if they offer something like this with your package. As far as walking down the isle, I'm sure each location is slightly different. That's a good question for your WC!
  16. Hmmm.....Maybe it's the Virgin Islands? They are owned by the U.S WHAT A GREAT GUY!!!!!!!!!
  17. Ladies~ I don't know if you have seen this yet but if you haven't you MUST check it out!!!!!! Sorry I'm a dork and can't get the link in here but here's how to find it: (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOUND) YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. "BEST WEDDING DANCE EVER" I KNOW YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Honestly, my hunny and I's song is "The Grill Song" "I wanna see ur grill...." I We are goof balls and this was the song that kept playing when we first got together, and we declared it "our song" right away. I don't think I should be walking down the isle to it though LMAO.So I'm still deciding on a good song too. Have you girls seen the Youtube video called "BEST WEDDING DANCE EVER?" YOU MUST Check it out if you haven't. I think this is AWESOME!!!!!!!! (Sorry I kinda got off topic)
  19. First of all don't be too hard on yourself. You see here's how it happens: We meet these fabulous guys and tend to get "comfortable" with them and before we know it we've packed on a few extra pounds without even realizing it (or wanting to realize it) hehe. I just hopped on the "MOTIVATION TRAIN" about 2 weeks ago. The getting motivated part seems to be the hardest for a lot of women (including myself) Here's my best advice: Don't go crazy and throw out all sweets/fats from your diet, decide you're hitting the gym 5 days a week, and cutting your portions in half. If you do this all at once you are basically setting yourself up to be less successful. Start small, and make little life style changes 1 at a time. The more small changes you make, the more likely you are to want to make the bigger changes. Also, what cardio activities do you enjoy? Do you like to hit the gym? Do you like to swim, play tennis, even brisk walking for 60 mins is GREAT for the heart. I refuse to give up carbs and chocolate. So, I work around them. The changes I started out with were: 1. Work out for 30 mins twice a week 2. Don't eat after 7:00pm Start small girl and you WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!!!! I'm alwayyyys here to chit chat about our progress!!!
  20. We have stuck to our budget for the most part. The one thing we did go a bit over on was the photography. If we're spending the money and time to be married on a beautiful beach with ALL our family and close friends, it seems absolutely foolish to risk not having awesome pictures to come home with. So for us it was definetely photography.
  21. I know they will love whatever you give them. I think personalizing things sounds great! I'm sure the gifts you have in mind for each girl are just the right thing. I don't think anyone will get mad or feel left out AT ALL! Someone who isn't a sunglass girl but loves jewelry, will love the fact that you thought about it and got her something to fit her personality! Very clever!!
  22. OMG I love ghosts (or they love me) one of the two lol. I actually joined a ghost hunting group in my area. I am alllways down to discuss this topic!!! And yes that show is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
