  1. Way to go ladies!!! It seems like we're all on a pretty good roll! I mailed my MIB invites today and put the $250.00 deposit down with Jill Murillo who will be doing our photography. (CANCUN STUDIOS) After researching TONS of photographers we finally decided to go with Jill. I am very pleased with the package she arranged for us and LOVE her work! FYI if any of you want to bring out side photographers in my WC told me you just have to get them the day pass and its not a big deal. (I know it's stated everywhere that there's absolutely NO outside photography, but apparently it's very easy to get around it) I have a little notebook where I have ALL my wedding notes. I made a "to-do" list for each month so I don't get over-whelmed. I have found this to be SO HELPFUL! Here's the one I came up with. Depending where you are on your planning, each month will vary. ANDREA'S WEDDING TO' DO's JUNE: Mail MIB invites, book photographer, chose dinner menu, decide about bridal shower. Mail announcements, begin gathering, wedding favors for OOT bags, Decide on shoes/barefoot sandals, look at wedding pic. poses we like, look at flower pics. we like, Email them to WC. Confirm who's watching our animals while we're away. JULY:Continue gathering OOT stuff and decorations, Gather any legal documents needed, (July is both our birthdays, sis' birthday and parents Anniversary so I kept the list small for this month) AUGUST: My dress comes in! Get alterations made, purchase BM dresses, (they are already picked out) Create Wedding program, OOT booklet, Resort info, Thank you cards, finish OOT bags, make/buy barefoot sandals (we'll see how making everything else goes LOL) SEPTEMBER: Mail all bachelorette invites (the guys all just call eachother lol) Arrange sand ceremony, Buy FI's ring, FI'swedding attire,Groomsmen attire. OCTOBER: BACHLORE/BACHLORETTE PARTIES (end of the month) NOVEMBER: Remaining hotel cost due to Elaine Flick, Check in with photographer,Confirm colors, menu, cake, flowers, wedding set-up. DECEMBER:Send "Travel Brochure" to all attending guests. Create/finalize my personal wedding list, Arrange Photography schedule, create schedule for wedding day, make seating chart for reception, Get "legally married" at Denver Courthouse, Make sure dress fits, check ALL reservations, paperwork, vows, get paperwork ready to change name. JANUARY: GET MARRIED ON JANUARY 4, 2009 at 4:00pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. WoW Jessica, You're my hero!!! LOL nice job girl!!!!
  3. We're getting married on January 7, 2009 at the Barcelo Maya Palace!!!! Where are all of you on your planning so far?
  4. I've met John Elway a few times. He's a very nice guy GOOO OLD SCHOOL BRONCOS!!!!!!!!
  5. Absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to get married at the Palace!
  6. AWESOME! Thanks for the post! I'm headin there this weekend!!!!
  7. I'm getting married at the Palace in January 2009. You have me even more excited now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I DEFINETELY recommend a WC. I found a fabulous gal who does EVERYTHING for us (contacts the resort with any of my questions, made us a website, book us, ect) She has been a life-saver. As far as cost goes, she doesn't have a charge fee. Just let her book you and your group and she does the rest. I would be a stressful mess with out her. She's made this whole wedding planning thing FUN!!!
  9. I lived in St. John for 4 months and I'm guessing the flowers are going to have to be shipped over from St. Thomas (a 10 min. ferry ride) because EVERYTHING is shipped from St. Thomas to St. John (food, cars, even people's jobs) If can get them directly in St. John plan on paying a lot more. I would look for a good florist on St. Thomas and I'm SURE they have arrangements to get them to St. John. Hope that helps a bit!
  10. I love the idea of seeds! You could just put a seed pack in each one
  11. Ladies~ I know there are posts about remembering a deceased loved one, but our situation is a little different. I'll sum it up as best I can. Bo's dad suffered from a major stroke in 2000 and is paralized from the waist down, and has lost a lot of his speech and has seizures. It's completely heart-breaking and is a very tough subject for FI to discuss. Bo has talked to his dad several times and they both know it will be just too hard for his dad to attend the wedding. Impossible really. (Too much to explain) We are going to save an open chair in the front for his dad, and want to do something to honor him, but don't want him to come across as deceased. Any ideas? Thanks I'm having a hard time with this one...
  12. CAN HER ASS!!!!! (oops did I just say that) Seriously, too much drama to even worry about!
  13. Is there a Shane Company near you? That's where he got my ring, and we also saw mens tungsten.(That's what my FI wants too) Good luck!
  14. CARDIO, CARDIO, CARDIO!!!!!!!!!!!! And I would bust out the crunches/ ab machines at the gym. That's great that you aren't freakin' out (you sound pretty mellow like me) I actually work better under pressure, and I know you won't have any trouble shedding a few lbs, just get your heart rate up so you burn fat! Also, great that you are drinking water, that helps flush the system (as you know obviously) Good luck girl, you will look great, AND if you're lucky, still be able to breath....j/k hehe
  15. I'm not worried about the glass breaking (I can wrap stuff like a pro) HOWEVER, I am the queen of the airlines losing my bags. It seems like despite the airline, or where and when I travel my bag is missing. LOL I obviously am going to have to cross my fingers and hope that doesn't happen since we have a DIRECT flight) I'm sure you are ok checking glass items, just wrap the heck outta them!!!
  16. In the beginning I was like "there's NO way I'm doing my pictures before the ceremony. BUT, after reading a lot of posts and an EXCELLENT blog, we decided to do the majority of pics before the ceremony. Like the blog said: The first time you see eachother, you get private intimate time together with all your first time emotions. I am SO excited for the photo-shoot, I know it's going to be very emotional and special
  17. Ahhhh I see.....Maybe I am getting these OOT bags mixed up with favors? Are they the same thing? I'm such a dork LOL!
  18. Very good topic!!!!!! I was thinking about doing something with our guest favors. I thought about making a card for each place at the table saying something like "Thank you so much for joining us, we've made a donation on your behalf to the save the planet foundation. (I just made up that organization) You could find an "Earth friendly" charity and write a little bit about it and why it's important to the two of you. This is a tough one :/
  19. Great Thanks ladies!!!!!! Hmmm.....I'll have to get my creative juices rollin' and come up with some stuff for the dudes!!!!
  20. I'm only having my sister and bestfriend as BM's I said: "Girls, get ready to party in Mexico!!!!" That's all I had to say. Sorry we're kind of crazy and my answer isn't very creative :/ LOL
  21. So maybe this is a totally obvious question but: Do men and women get seperate OOT bags? I noticed some of you are putting stuff together from Bath & Body Works, but what about the men?
  22. My hunny is a computer geek and designs websites. He's an absolute genious!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Thanks for the info!!!! Sorry if this is a stupid question but are you guys doing OOT bags for females and seperate ones for men?
