After talking this weekend We've decided this: We're going to have an "Engagement/Send off Party" in August at Chatfield Reservoir. We're going to rent an area for 50-100 people and just play in the sun, BBQ, and drink. I want everyone to feel "included" in our wedding. This is a no gift celebration for all our friends to attend!!! Once we get married in Mexico that will be it for "wedding events" January is too cold, and I don't want to wait 5-6 months to have an AHR. This seems to make the most sense for us, and our personalities!!!

Also, the LAST reason I am doing this is for gifts. In fact, we aren't even registered anywhere because we already have everything we need. Well, the point of this is to Eliminate an AHR in January. The roads here will most likely be a snow-packed mess. We definetely don't want to do that anymore. I think we'll just stick to a party this summer with all our friends and not label it anything that way it will be cool. Thanks:)

Hmmmm.....I'm thinking maybe you could order mini bottles of tequila and make your own labels for them? That's a great idea though!!!

Ok ladies~ I just had a "light-bulb moment" and wanted to get your honest opinions. We are getting married in January 2009 in Mexico, and WERE going to do an AHR in Colorado when we return. Obviously it's going to be friken cold, so it would have to be completely inside. The idea I just had was to do an engagement/pre-wedding AHR this summer in late August. This way we can do a nice outside BBQ at my parents house and we'll have A LOT MORE ROOM. The big BUT is: Does this seem tacky or wrong to anyone to do it before hand? If I'm gonna do this I need to get on the stick like TODAY. What do you think??

Hmmm....We have somewhat of a budget, but it's not written in stone. We both agreed that we want it to be exactly how we want it, within reason of course. I guess everyone has their things about the wedding that they will NOT "cut corners on" and other things that they will. Honestly, every single thing from my dress at David's Bridal to the OOT bags at Micheals, to the centerpieces at Kohls have been exactly what I want and have been on sale. I chose to make my own BF sandals for about $15.00 then spend the $65.00+shipping for the ones I loved online.I LOVE the ones I made even more. The photography package however, we are spending an arm and a leg on because it was one of those "we're not cutting corners" things. It's like the 4 c's in diamond shopping. You chose which one is most important, and sacrafice just a bit on the things that are less important.

I just want everyone to know that I will be 100% HAPPY if we are pregnant, and 100% ok if it's a false alarm. We are going to become sex maniacs after the wedding anyway and start actually trying. We're getting married at a different hotel but have the same things included in our package. I actually was wondering the same thing about the breakfast in bed. I think it makes more sense to do it a few days after the wedding instead of the following morning. I'm sure they will honor that request and understand completely.

It seems I always have way too much on my list UGH, then on top of that I go to Wal-Mart and get double whats on the list and spend double the money. Sucks the $$ right out of you!!!
