  1. I suppose it would depend on where you are getting married...Mexico?
  2. Maybe you guys could compromise and bring the ties with you and see what you like better when you are all actually standing next to eachother. That way you don't have to have silly arguments about it and you both compromise
  3. Welcome to the forum!!! You should join our January brides thread! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21722
  4. Wow, very selfish! I know a few girls who sound exactly like that UGH! Girl, I would just plan your wedding as if you never even heard those words. If it wasn't "Oh I don't know if I can go, I may be pregnant in two effin' years" she would have come up with some other excuse. I would just kill her with kindness as much as you can and don't let her push your buttons (that's exactly what she wants)
  5. I'm not sure how elaborate you want to go but I made both my bouquets in about an hour. They look gorgeous, yet are very simple. I gathered the silk flowers together, cut the bottoms off so they were even, taped them together and then wrapped them with ribbon that matches my dress. I am going to sew on starfish charms as well. I wasn't about to pay $60.00 for each of them in Mexico, so I did a quick DIY and they turned out lovely There are also shell bouquets that look kind of cool too! 6. Thanks everyone for your responses! Now I atleast have an idea of what to expect

I will need to tighten the bodice area and figure something out like a bustle (but it's so small of a train and very little material). Am I nuts? That's my hope. There's no way I'm shelling out $200! My dress is less than $500... I don't think it's crazy at all! My dress was also under $500.00 so I can't imagine spending MORE in alterations than I paid for the dress. LOL....I am going to look around a bit and probably take it to a local mom and pop shop.
  8. We had to put down $100.00 per room couple. We pay nothing more until November 1st.
  9. Wow! That's nice they included WHATEVER needed to be done to the dress in the price, however I am going to need just an inch or so taken in under my arms and nothing more. I'll have to shop around a bit.
  10. I know it depends on how much and where you have altered, but can you give me some ball-parks of what you girls paid and what kind of alteration it was? Thank you very much!!
  11. I would be completely pissed obviously! I second Alyssa. March back in there and tell her that you are VERY dis-pleased with what she did to the dress. There's a reason she didnt want you to try it on in the store. She was probably like "oh shit, hopefully she'll just take it home and not notice" I can only imagine how frustrating it must be
  12. We are using a little glass starfish filled with sand. SOOO perfect for the rings
  13. Of course it's your choice! I guess you just need to decide how important the ocean is for your wedding. If it's not that important then stay in Vegas!
  14. Sending you many positive $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Thoughts Good luck!
  15. So don't feel TOO bad, I too have a nightmare Kinko's story very similar to yours. Basically I went all the way there, printed my invites and then realized I mis-spelled a word. Had to drive back home re-type the word, go back to Kinkos re-print the invites, got back home and realized I forgot all the packaging I bought. OMG really? Go back with my head down and vow that I'll never go back LOL. Atleast your brochures look totally fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go!!!
  16. Well, we have a WC here in CO. and then the one at the resort. My fabulous coordinator actually booked my hotel in person while she was in Mexico. She has taken care of all the booking, always answers my emails the same day, has done all the emailing to the WC in Mexico, and is a pleasure to work with. We didn't have to pay her anything, she just asked that we book through her. I am going to email the WC in Mexico (I haven't personally contacted her yet) and send her a copy of the ceremony, hair pic, cake pic, make-up pic, flowers. (We pick out the location when we arrive in Mexico a few days before the wedding) Basically to answer your question, you shouldn't have to worry about booking or any of that stuff, that's the WC's job, ESPECIALLY if you have paid her $$$. It will all work out:)
  17. I don't know but when you find out please tell my FI. He does the SAME thing (except he isn't late because I'm always there to wake him up and he leaves before I do for work) Sometimes I'll be in the shower or outside walking the dog and I hear that damn alarm blaring! I walk in and he's sound asleep like a baby. Sorry I don't have much advice, but maybe your FI could start getting a massage once a week for relaxation?
  18. Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal - MyFitnessPal.com This site has been a LIFE-SAVER!!!! You can create a plan for yourself, and add your food intake, and excercise you do. You can tell it if you want to lose 1 lb a week or 2. Plus, it's a forum like this wonderful site! I have already lost 5 lbs and started a little over a week ago. It's amazing how far a little website can go! I really had nooo idea how much I was over eating until now. Just remember to eat small frequent meals, drink LOTS of water, and excercise CONSISTENTLY! That's the key

  20. Thanks for the post! I will definetely be needing this info soon enough!
  21. We were going to get married in December, but bumped it to January due to FI's brother and not being able to request time until January 1st. Is there any chance your FI won't be able to get the time off, or does he just have to wait until January to put it in? Is there anyway he can write them a letter asking them for a specific week off WAY ahead of time? That way you could start your planning and not have to worry. If they absolutely won't make an exception and you aren't 100% sure he can get that specific time off, then I would try and bump it out a few more months. It's not a bad idea to do what you said and send out a "tenative STD" and let people know of the dates A.S.A.P. It will all work out no worries
