  1. I totally belive this. When I was married in Vegas the first time around (let's not even go there) there was a wait and it was just a regular old hot day in July, not 07/07/07 or 08/08/08 so I would definetely go either really early or really late!

Sorry, I wish I could help you out, actually in this situation I am glad I don't know the answers I forget that you Canadian girls are so fortunate to not have to worry about medical insurance or maternity insurance for that matter. Yes, it's insurance that covers you and the baby all through your pregnancy.
  3. I would wait and see if they are going for sure and then go from there. I'm sure he wouldn't mind making a few xtra $.
  4. OUCH! So glad it wasn't anything serious! Hope your fingers feel better!!!
  5. OMG? That is insane!!! $800.00? So glad you got a 2nd opinion on it and got the price cut more than in half!!!
  6. Any other mommy's to be?? I know you're out there hehe...

I've read it's recommended 3-6 months before you would want to conceive. Well, they give you an exam/Pap and also draw your blood to make sure your levels are all where they should be. It's just to ensure that your body is healthy and ready for a baby. My FI is also visiting his doctor to get everything checked. They will compare our blood types and make sure they are "compatible" with eachother. They also can test you both for a number of genetic disorders to see if you carry the gene.
  8. We are going to also include a little "blurb" about Montezuma's Revenge and how to be safe with the water in Mexico
  9. I LOVE THE QUIZ!!!!!!! It's amazing how ignorant people can be about simple questions like this. Very helpful for brides who are at the beginning stages and are having un-invited guest issues! (I know I was DEFINETELY in that boat at first)
  10. Thank you!! I am excited to get some responses because I know nothing about it either hehe
  11. So my FI and I are getting our bodies "baby ready" if you will. We've been on a very healthy food intake level for several weeks now, and are getting everything in order. We are getting married in January and are going to completely stop being "careful" after Mexico and see what happens. I have a pre-conception apt. With my FABULOUS obgyn on August 22nd, and a dentist apt. as well. Anyway, I've had my own health insurance for the past 4 years and called them up yesterday and asked them about adding maternity insurance. I was completely shocked that the most they will cover is $2,000, and they want you to have the plan atleast 1 year before you conceive. LAME! So I've been doing a bit of research and hunting and searching for an insurance company to switch to that isn't a complete fortune, but that has good coverage/deductibles. It's VERY over-whelming! I could switch to Keiser (that's what my office offers, and FI's office offers, BUT my doctor is outside of Keiser. (you must understand that my doctor is a complete God send, and I've waited 6 years to be able to make my pre-conception apt. with her. I mean she's 1 in a million. I could go on and on, but basically Keiser is out of the question. (Nothing at ALL against Keiser, I know they actually have a very good maternity program) Anyway, I'm wondering what all you mom's to be, or pre-mom's to be have for maternity insurance. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
  12. Good luck to all the 8/8 8/9 brides!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a safe, wonderful, fabulous time! Your weddings will be perfect! We can't wait to hear/see all about it!!

Regardless, my hopes are that end up with the dress of your dreams, and don't have to re-go dress shopping! Sending you very positive thoughts and energy!!! I really hope she can fix it! 14. WOW You guys look soooo GREAT!!! You are the cutest couple! The pictures are absolutely fabulous
  15. A Religious ceremony would be a ceremony that demonstrates your religious beliefs (Catholic, Jewish, Christian ect) A symbolic ceremony is non-religious and can be written by the bride and groom if they choose. Does that make sense? My FI and I are spiritual not religious and are having a symolic ceremony that fits our beliefs
  16. I am scared about the whole alterations thing too lol. Especially after this post http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...=dress+ruinedI feel so bad for this bride I hope she get's everything taken care of. The scary part about her story is that, she took her dress to a repitable person who has apparently been in business for 35 years. Thanks soo much for your responses!
  17. You aren't crazy! We got engaged in May, are getting married in January and I am almost completely done with everything and it's August 1st (I just like to plan and get things done early) The trickiest part is booking people in time, but if you are only having a few people it shouldn't be that difficult. As far as people being sad about not being invited, for us it was very important to have our parents, siblings, and a few close friends (we're having about 20 guests) There were a few people who tried to invite themselves but we knipped it in the butt right away, and told them that this is a private wedding, and that we will be having a big Colorado AHR when we return. If you choose January, you should Join our January Brides thread (we'll keep you right on track hehe) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21722
  18. Welcome to the forum! I too am a January 09 bride! You should join our January brides thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21722
  19. We are going to do the garter, cake, first dances, toasts, at the reception in Mexico. At the AHR we will prbably have a fun cake with a wedding picture of us on it, but aren't doing the "traditional things over" We're just going to eat, drink, and have lots of music, and pictures. I Think it would be completely fine to re-do all the traditions, we just chose not to
