Please share your experience. Also, I saw that its $500 per hour for the Reggae Band. Has anyone used the Reggae Band? How was it? My fiance says its a must, but it seems extravagant. What do you think? They also have the option of a Mento Band for $200 per hour. Whats a Mento Band? If you used an iPOD and speakers, how did that work out. Any opinions are appreciated. I love this site!!!!!! I'm not getting married at the same hotel but here's what we're doing: First of all what does "semi-private" mean exactly? That outsiders can walk the beach durring your reception? I can definetely see how $50.00 a person could add up quickly.I would find out exactly what "private" means, and see if it's worth the extra $$$. Our package includes a mariachi band for pre-ceremony and ceremony music. We will be using them before the ceremony, but are playing our own "ceremony music" From what I've read on here, 90% of the brides are going the IPOD route for the reception music. Were you thinking of the band for the entire reception or just durring dinner or something? Depending on the mood, and your guests personalities I would suggest having a variety of music durring the reception (whether it be a hired DJ, or IPOD songs) I think people will really appreciate the mix of songs, especially after having a few cocktails.
  2. This site may help. http://www.orientaltrading.com/They have a TON of ideas. I personally like the lotto ticket holders (they are light-weight) In the end we decided to skip the favors and just stick to the OOT bags. I'm sure you can find something! Good Luck!
  3. Welcome to the forum! You will love it here!
  4. http://www.cancun.com/Weather/ Mexico Weather & Mexico Seasons @ Mexico Travel 101 Guide. September, October, November are the rainy months. We all run the risk of rain, so don't worry too much just make sure you have a GOOD back-up location at your hotel in case it does down-pour. I don't think it really makes a difference between Oct and Nov. cause they are both more rainy. I would just cross your fingers and think positive! Do a "no rain" dance.
  5. Not sure about your specific hotel but this is how ours is, and alot of other brides at various locations: You purchase a wedding package that includes certain things such as Beachside decorations, flowers, cake, bouquets, ect. Our package is including EVERYTHING from the ceremony to a mariachi band, to the reception dinner on the beach. Let's see, it also includes, hair, make-up, massage, mani/pedi, VIP status, private candle-lit dinner and special chocolate dipped strawberries. (Theres a bunch more but I can't think of it all atm) Other people who didnt go the wedding package route, ended up using various vendors in the area. There are a lot of posts about repitable vendors from DJ's to flowers, to Steel Drums. We're all here to help you along the way! Have fun!
  6. I think they are a very good idea! I would be curious about pricing though! Thanks for the post!
  7. Hmmm....You could do like a teal and chocolate color scheme. Let me think a bit more.

I like this one because you can download entire albums at a time, and it's pretty quick. And free Thanks so much! I appreciate that a lot! I will let you know if I need your assistance!
  9. The only reason I would say hold off on purchasing is in case your BM's gain or loose weight, or in-case you happen to find what you're looking for next Spring when there are a TON of new styles/colors. I would shop, and look around and see what you like, and purchase a little closer to your date.
  10. LOL This is a huge inside joke in my office. We're always like "You sofa king" hehe...We wrote it all out for this poor agent and she kept saying it over and over and over and FINALLY was like ooooohhhhh. (We all got a good laugh about that one)

  12. Depending on how many people you've booked, you could shoot them an e-mail telling them of the change. If that's a pain in the butt, I really wouldn't worry about it. Remember, the guests aren't concerned about the domain name, just the info on it No worries!

  14. Hmmm....My FI is a computer wiz as well and I've followed the guidelines. Some of the songs are still crappy quality although they're in that range and have multiple-hosts. And the problem is, I listened to every single song on the computer first and they all sounded great, (that's why I burned them) I suppose I'll just pay the .99 to ensure good quality. Thanks for your post
  15. Please forgive me if this has been answered, but I've been searching the IPOD posts until I'm going cross-eyed and couldn't find my answer. I downloaded all of our wedding songs from Limewire and burned CD's just to hear the quality of the songs. Most of the songs sound great, but other songs sound like complete crap! I know that before you download the song, it tells you the quality, but all the songs I downloaded said they were all good quality. Do you recommend that I do the whole ITUNES thing and pay .99 per song, or is there another way that's cheaper? Thank you ladies
  16. Thanks for the post I will definetely keep this all in mind!
  17. So far I don't have anyone on the forum who is a wedding date twin, but I've met a few that are getting married the same week at the same resort. I'm lookin for my date twin though hehe Anyone, anyone? January 7, 2009? Hehe
  18. I'm having trouble picturing this...I googled it and found nothing. (I'm sure you already tried that) This post may help you. Maybe if you find one you like, you could tell your WC to substitue something out for limes. Are you thinking of whole limes, cut limes, floating limes? Sorry I am visual! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t23498
  19. We had our domain name bought but it wasn't completely up and running. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if it's not done. We just have a note on the homepage that says "keep checking back, new info always coming" (or something like that)
  20. Yes this site is a life-saver! These ladies are the best!! I have atleast 100 new ideas since I joined this forum! We're so glad to have you

  23. The only other show that I can BARELY stand besides this one is the show about their sweet 16 party or whatever. OMG I would back-hand some of these little snots. One girl threw a complete fit because her parents got her a yellow hummer instead of a red one. And I do mean a complete fit! Those are the future bridezillas LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
