Great job to all of you ladies who stuck with it. And a special great job to Jenny! :yay:

Or Ebay? It's not my size, but I really hope you can find a seller so you can have your dream dress.

Maybe wine or champagne? Flipflops or barefoot sandals? -
I was freaking out because I couldn't find my phone or camera this morning and my FI is at work so I couldn't use his! Thankfully I found my phone. It was on the charger where I had left it.

You could try selling the dress you have and buying another one you like better. -
Sorry I missed weigh in last week, ladies. My SIL (Brother's wife, not FI's sister) passed away suddenly Thursday night/Friday morning, so I had to travel to Michigan. What makes things even worse is that she had six children (from a previous marriage, 5 are adults and one is in high school). One of the daughters is my age and she was getting married that day. She ended up going through with the wedding, but it's really heartbreaking. Anyway, I completely forgot today was Friday until I caught up on the posts and noticed that I had missed TWO posts that said "weigh-in day!" For a second I panicked, because I thought I was DQ'd, and then I realized that TODAY is weigh-in day! I will try to remember when I get home, even though I'm up this week (probably). :-(

Hi Jolene... what cruise line are you sailing with? Most of them have wedding planners who may be able to help with on shore questions.

I LOVE AMResorts (Dreams, Sunscape, NOW, Secrets, and Zoetry are all a part of this chain). We've been to Dreams Tulum in the Riviera Maya. Unfortunately it was a bit too much for our guests, plus the per plate fees for food can really add up. We've also been to Sunscape Casa Del Mar (which is now Dreams La Romana) in the DR. Way more affordable when it was a Sunscape, but AMResorts has done away with this brand (it was their cheapest line) and upgraded their resorts. And we went to Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay, Jamaica recently.... AMAZING! And it just opened so it will only get better! If you can swing Dreams, I'd say go for it, because I love the chain so much. However, we're doing Gran Bahia Principe in the Riviera Maya, because it would be more affordable for our guests and for us.

Am I supposed to give a gift?
Sapphire723 replied to frannkie's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think it mainly depends on what you're doing for the party. For example, I just heard of a Bride who got treated to a full day at the spa after a night at the casino, so I think that's a good enough gift for her! However, if you're just bar hopping or staying in for margaritas, I think a small gift would be nice. I've given booze, lingerie, or a personalized flask, depending on the girl. -

I'm feeling better though and looking forward to getting back to eating normally and working out. Oooh, congrats! To the getting married part.... not the getting sick part, of course.

I'm just happy to say that I'm back down at the weight I was before vacation (and before the week before vacation when I gained a little). It was the exact weight too! Even to the tenth of a pound. Great job all of you ladies who are sticking with it, and especially to our weekly winners.

Great job, Mischaka!

We haven't gotten married yet, but we just took a trip to Jamaica and got back last weekend. I'm so sad that we're back. I want to hold on to our "relaxed, in-love vacation time" feeling, and I can feel it beginning to slip away.

Oksana, the makeup artist, is amazing too. She's funny and nice and I really enjoyed her work.

Way to go Natasha! And I really want to go back on vacation. I'm trying to hold on to my relaxed mentality, but I can feel it slipping away.

My goal is to just maitain this week because my dress is fitting perfectly right now and the big day is next Wednesday!! Holy Crap!!! EEEEEEE!!!! So close! I'm back! Vacation was amazing. And by the way Secrets Wild Orchid has scales in the room, so I could take my picture for weigh in. Unfortunately, the WiFi went down, and I didn't care to pay an extreme amount of money to use my 3G network to send in my weight (which is up anyway).

Tipping Photographers/Videographers/etc.
Sapphire723 replied to MDLady's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Etiquette says that you do not tip the proprietor, because they set the prices. So, if you have a photographer who owns the company and comes with an assistant, you may tip the assistant but not the photographer. However, if the person goes well above and beyond, I do think it's ok to tip them anyway. I have tipped at times when I thought they did a fantastic job, but I didn't feel compelled if they just did a competent job. -

Maybe just me freaking out, but if my dress doesn't zip I would die! I am going to Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay, Jamaica! We leave tomorrow. I'm procrastinating my packing in favor of some last minute BDWing. I also bought TWO bikinis (not tankinis!). I'm up less than half a pound this week. But, to be fair, I didn't go to the gym once and I wasn't very careful with what I ate. I expect to gain some over the next week, but I'm not going to stress over it. I've just decided to eat what I want to, but to be mindful of when I'm actually hungry and to try to make sure I get enough servings of fruits and veggies. My biggest problem is that some times I eat when I'm not hungry if the food is really good. The daily drinking is going to hurt me some too, but the de-stressing is going to totally help me when I return. My BD shoot went pretty well. There were a few poses that weren't as flattering and I didn't realize how much I needed to tone up my tushie, but overall I am pleased with the weight I ended up at for the shoot. All of you have a great week next week, and I will see you again for the weigh in the week after that. And congrats to all you running girls. Way to run those crazy 5k,10k, half-marathon, or full marathons!

She's got a great personality and will help you with every single pose. Her home is lovely and you can't help but feel very comfortable there. I can't wait to see the results and give my gift to hubby to be. Side note: Bring a little extra cash. I opted to upgrade my photobook to the 8x10 magazine book, since there is time to have it printed. Her assistant will show you some samples, I thought it was a nice touch. And go with other BDW brides who are super generous and let you use their InStyler to help fix your flattened hair! Jen went over the photos with me, but I didn't realize I could upgrade. Side Note: I love Oksana. I want to bring her with me for any occasion in which I need makeup from now until I die. She's good and she's funny.
