And the pounds are shown as a percentage of the previous week's pounds, which does help make it fair because the bigger you are the more calories you burn. Buuuut.... that's not exactly what I said to begin with. I'm having serious communication issues today! My boss even responded to my explanation of something with "I have no idea what you just said!" Anyway.... CONGRATS HOLLY! Way to set the bar high this week. You're going to be tough to beat!

I am tracking my measurements in tandem to my weight (1 inch loss on my thigh, but no where else this week!). I'm also tracking my body fat percentage (according to my scale... not with one of those pinch the fat thingies) and H20 %, because my goal is to lose fat and look awesome and not to pop a diuretic so that my scale says I'm a different number. I think that the reason why the contest runs purely on pounds is because it's hard to take a photograph of your own measurements every week. Plus, sometimes people accidentally miss the same spot that they were measuring before, which allows for WAY more room for error. It's a great idea to have a Biggest Loser - inches edition... I just think it's hard to do with people that you only know through the internet.

Great job girls! Melissa- I like an ounce of lowfat cheese and a pear as a snack. It's filling and yummy. I also like hummus, but it's hard to not want to dip unhealthy things into it (like chips!). And it's not super low in calories, but it's got pretty good nutritional value. If I'm craving something warm (I found that it's not the heavy foods so much that satisfy me as it is that food is warm... kinda tricks me into thinking I'm having a meal instead of a snack, even if the caloric content disagrees!), I like to pop one of those seasoned frozen veggie packs into the microwave. Some are a lot healthier than other (ie just have seasoning instead of having a cheese sauce), but even the "bad" ones are still decent as far as calories and fat go. I also like salsa with warm quinoa.

Exactly... we're not going to lose like the contestants on Biggest Loser, because ALL they do is exercise and meal plan. We have lives and responsibilities and temptations that are more than a trough of M&Ms. I'm happy with my results. My minimum goal is 2lbs a week, so I made that. I also dragged my sorry butt out of bed at 4:30am so I could go to the gym before work. I'm having a hard time fitting in my cardio, though. I feel like I don't get as into it when I do it from home, but I also feel like I don't have time go to to the gym as many days as I want to do it. My chocolate substitute has been those sugar free Jello Mousse Temptations that have 60 calories. They taste good and help satisfy any cravings.

Trip Advisor- Top 10 All-Inclusives

Trip Advisor's 2010 list is here: Travelers' Choice Hotel Awards - TripAdvisor It looks like they've branched away from our favorite chains.... and included a Dude Ranch? -
I can totally understand why you would be panicked about flying if you had a bad experience recently. I would recommend hypnotherapy, if you're not opposed to it. There are probably downloadable audio files out there that you can listen to on your own or you could visit a specialist who can help train you on techniques to use during the flight.

Double Wedding...sort of

And I thought it would be hard to tell some guests they could come to our wedding but not theirs and vice versa. So since I've said no, they haven't even set a date yet which makes me think they may have been trying to get me to do all the planning and they were going to just jump in on the tail end. Oooh, I hope not. That's a backhanded and nasty thing to do! You're right about it being difficult to make decisions with more people, though. Most of the advice we give on this forum boils down to "It's your day and your FI's day and nobody else's, so do what YOU TWO WANT." But that's a lot harder to do when you have to consider another couple. On a side note, I have it on decent authority that someone close to me may be getting a ring soon. I wonder if she'll want to do a DW, because if she did, I would definitely not mind sharing the week with her. She's AWESOME! And I'm really excited just thinking about her maybe getting engaged soon... YAY! Sorry... didn't mean to hijack this thread when I started that statement, I'm just excited and I wanted to share the news with people who can't spoil the surprise! -
Yes, definitely put a dress code on the invite and go into further detail on your website or explain to guests what that means through word of mouth. You can give guidelines and examples when people ask (Our dress code is beach chic. For example: sundresses and linen pants are ok, a ball gown or tux is too formal, and shorts are too casual.). I know that most people will ask around to see what other people are wearing to the wedding; so if you put the vibe out there that shorts are a no no, most people will be cognizant of that and avoid them. However, there are some tacky people out there.... I've seen people go to beach weddings in stained t-shirts and cut offs while the other guests look nice. I don't get how some people think that's ok!

Do you have any objections to going to a different resort altogether, like Secrets, for your honeymoon? We're going on a cruise for our HM, so that we don't have to worry about sharing it with guests. No matter which resort people stay at, if they want to find you and bug you, they will. If your FMIL doesn't understand why she's not invited to your honeymoon, then it's time for your FI to set some boundaries.

Okay, so my work is doing a Weigh Loss Challenge. I have 8 weeks to lose 8% of my weight. Everyone puts in $20, and if you meet your goal, you split the pot with everyone else. I think I'm going to join in. Although, if I do, I'm almost at the threshold of 2lbs per week which is what I consider to be the most I should aim to lose if I'm doing it in a healthy way (and not crash dieting or doing something crazy).... please don't do the math. :-) What do you ladies think? Is a steady 2lbs a week doable? I think even if I don't make it, having money on the line will help further motivate me.

Crap... my parents both have HUGE pores. I use a mask and pore strips already... but the mask isn't heated. Do you have a particular mask you recommend? I thought that certain peels and microderm were supposed to help pore size... is that all a sham?

So, I found a great deal on Save the Dates. If you become a fan of Jean M | Facebook on Facebook, they'll give you 75 free Save the Dates. S&H was $12.99 for me. They only let you pick a few designs, so it's not super awesome. But, overall, it's a decent deal. We weren't gonna do Save the Dates, but we got these ones.

The good news is that my butt doesn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. But my ankles and feet hurt WAY worse than I thought they would.

I think it's a great idea, unless you have issues with sharing the spotlight or issues with extra guests who were invited to your cousin's ceremony coming to your wedding. Personally, I would love it if one of my close friends would have their wedding a few days around mine. It would make is easier to deal with a lot of the stuff that you would normally have to shoulder alone. -
OW. I went to my first spin class today, and OW is all I have to say.

Although, to be fair, that is a decent tip. :-) So at least they're not selling lies, just product placement; I can't really fault them for decent tips. I think I did pretty well today. My friend worked me out pretty hard at the gym.... don't know if I'll be able to move tomorrow! And I love whoever said "Why not do better today?" I forgot who said it. It's a good point. Sometimes I think about all the times I made the less healthy decision. If I add them all up, I would probably weigh a lot less right now.

Okay ladies, I officially MUST LOSE WEIGHT during this BL. I just committed to a Boudoir session on May 8th, and I want to lose at least 23 pounds before I let someone take nakie pictures of me. I think I'm going to need to do meal planning for the next week. I think my lack of preparation is my biggest problem. I don't bring good snacks in to eat and when I get home, we'll pick up fast food if we haven't planned out a dinner. On a positive note, I think I did well today. I was going to eat something really unhealthy, but instead I heated up a bunch of veggies with some curry and ate that. Do any of you ladies have some favorite easy recipes that are delicious? My favorite healthy recipe isn't the easiest, but it's SO yummy: Thai-Style Halibut with Coconut-Curry Broth Recipe : Ellie Krieger : Food Network

Anyone had any luck shrinking pores? My face looks like a golf ball and I HATE IT! I'm thinking of getting peels or microderm to shrink them, but I'm not sure what's the best.

I have a problem with eating regularly during work. A lot of times when I'm working, I get really caught up and don't eat. Then when I get home, I'm STARVED and want to eat everything that isn't nailed down. I don't have this problem when I work from home.... I don't know what my deal is!

Maders, I can only imagine how horrible Crohn's is when you're trying to lose weight! Recently I got diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis (which feels like you have a UTI that you can't make go away with antibiotics), and my doctor gave me a list of foods that I should avoid. Some of them are no problem when you're trying to diet (like soda and bacon) but others are ridiculous (like salad dressing, seasoning, apples, bananas, cantaloupes, citrus fruits, grapes, nectarines, peaches, pineapples, plums, pomegranates, and strawberries). I just feel like it's hard enough to eat healthy all the time when you can eat anything you want!

Crap.... I got excited when I saw CT, but it stinks that she was so bad. I would have dealt with a little bad for the price and location, but I definitely don't think I can use her with this review! Thanks for being honest. We all really appreciate it.

Okay, I sent in my pictures. The good news is I don't look as bad as I thought I did from the front. But, the side and the back are... lumpy is saying it nicely.
