Exes coming out of the woodwork!
KLC77 replied to The Mandy in Chandy's topic in Just venting or funnies
I think this happens to a lot of people. I had an ex and then friends who I would never have thought wanted more than friendship telling me their "feelings" for me right up until my wedding. I found it amusing. Its nice to know you're wanted, as long as you are already exactly where you want to be (with FI). I think its just one of those things where people want what they can't have. As for you and FI being so far apart, keep leaning on your friends to distract you. Hopefully the time flies until you're together again. -
OOT bag regrets!!!

I agree, they look great! Keep em! -
I 4th this! I used Joy for my bm gifts and they came out great. She was fantastic to work with and had a really quick turn around time. I found her really close to my wedding date and she made sure that I received my order in plenty of time for my wedding.

Hey Jen, I was going to suggest you use a TA. It is so much less stress! And I was going to mention you should click the banner at the top of the forum, but it looks like you have already been in touch with TA Maureen. I would think that having guests who all need different arrangements will make it difficult and time consuming for you to be the one coordinating it. A TA would be a great asset. Where in CT are you from? Just curious. Good luck with your planning!

Yikes, too many great choices!

Welcome to the forum. The search function will become your best friend! I know others on here have been married on Grand Bahama. That is my favorite island. I have been several times. You will love it! Good luck with your planning.

Have you taken Calvin to a new vet yet? It sounds like he has either a uti, bladder infection or possibly bladder stones. My cat had stones and had to have surgery, but now he has a special food and we've had no problems since. Be very careful with a male cat and bladder problems. They can become blocked and die in a very short time period. Its very serious. Let us know what happens!

"I don't want to become a bridezilla, but I just can't figure out how to make everyone happy - or at least make everyone accept the idea. " You'll never make everyone happy. You have to make sure the two of you are happy and anyone else who is happy is just a bonus! And don't ask for opinions. You know what they say... everyone has one and really their opinion doesn't matter. If you and FI decide that a destination wedding is what is most important to you and what will make you happy, I say go for it! In the end, it is the two of you who are going to remember your day forever. What do you want that memory to be like? Good luck with everything!

Thanks for all the great info ladies. So, I found out that the 4k fee is because we are getting an FHA loan and FHA requires you pay a portion of the PMI up front and then your monthly PMI payments are smaller. We would really love to be able to put the 20% down to avoid the PMI altogether, but its just not possible. We are supposed to close in two weeks. I feel like if I can't get it worked out by Monday we will never meet our deadline. I'm feeling a little more confident today though. A family member has offered to lend us some money. So, we just need to sit down and make sure we will be able to pay them back in a reasonable amount of time. Hopefully we have everything figured out tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

We got pre-approved to put as little as 3% down, but we are going thru a broker and not directly thru a lender. So, I know there's a difference there. Things just changed once they actually submitted the loan for approval. Today, things have gotten worse and with the PMI payments we have a $4,000 fee/ penalty for having to have PMI. I'm a little confused as to what's that's for and have to call the broker in the morning. I'm still hoping it will work out, but I'm super stressed. Thanks for all your support ladies! It nice to know we're not the only ones who've gone thru this.

Well, I guess it is because our debt to income ratio is too close to the lender's limit. Right now just my husband will be on the loan and so its only his income. Adding up the cost of the mortgage our taxes and insurance, plus the other things that show up on his credit report (which isn't much) just puts us right over their limit, I guess. So, by putting the extra money down it lowers our monthly payment thus our debt to income ratio. I get it, but it still sucks! I'm trying to find an alternate solution, but can't come up with anything. This means we will have to put down 15k more than we were planning for. So, we won't have anything left over in savings or to furnish the house. The worst part is that I thought this might be an issue a month ago when we were first applying for our mortgage and the mortgage guy kept saying not to worry about it. I should have known we would have to deal with it at some point. I asked him like 6 times if he thought it would be a problem.

So, we are in the process of trying to buy a house. We just found out today that instead of the 10% we were going to put down, our mortgage co. wants us to put down 15%. Its a huge increase in cash we have to shell out. Oh, and we need to close in the next 12 business days or the seller (a bank) can cancel our contract! Now we are scrounging around trying to find thousands of dollars we don't really have and didn't want to have to use for the downpayment. This sucks.

Hair colour opinions!
KLC77 replied to DRB's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I vote for dark brown because its your natural color. Decades from now when you look at your wedding pics they will look like you, not you that one time you decided to go blonde. kwim? I like the blonde too, just thinking that in the future you may want something closer to your natural color in pics. -

Maybe if you pose it to him that way, he might also want to put it down? Us too. Ginalyn, tell your dh that particles of whatever is in the toilet fly out at about a 6 foot radius if you leave the lid up when you flush. This includes onto your toothbrushes if they are out! You should always flush after putting the lid down.

I emailed her several times (after the last group of BDW girls met with her) and never got a response (which I thought was weird since so many on here like her). Her pics are great though, so they'll be worth it when you do it in January! Maybe come that time she'll do another group shoot and it'll be less expensive for you.

When did you know he was the one?
KLC77 replied to *HOLLY*'s topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
This is a great thread! I don't think I ever had a specific moment where I knew he was the one, but I know that I have never felt so loved by another person in my whole life. That feeling is what made me confident that I'd never let him go. Its a feeling I would never give up and I hope that everyone in my life gets to experience it for themselves at some point.
