  1. Wow, those are incredible! You could be a professional!
  2. I love the wig idea and it looks like you guys had an awesome time!
  3. I am totally obsessed with the election and so is FI! He swears he's buying a bottle of rum for Election Night, hehe. I have been phonebanking from home for the past couple of weeks and have even donated a couple of times-- something I've never done before. Alyssa, one of my faves is FiveThirtyEight.com: Electoral Projections Done Right. They have all kinds of stats and polling analysis on there, and also have a team traveling the country reporting on the campaign. Great resource. I am anxious for it to be all over though!
  4. Mrs D To Be, I took the punch to work to show a friend (she is Martha-crazy and she punched through a file folder with it. You have to press hard but it definitely works.
  5. You know what's so funny-- as soon as I saw it, I was like, the BDW ladies will go crazy for this! Glad to help out.
  6. It's very pretty! But I wouldn't be married (ha ha) to just that one dress-- like many of the ladies here, I found that I looked best in something completely different from what I had envisioned. I tried on tons of gowns and I'm super happy with what I eventually chose. Good luck!
  7. Ladies, I was super excited when I came across this new craft punch at Michael's today. Here are the results: I haven't seen them anywhere online yet (except eBay) but they have them in the Martha crafty area of Michael's. I think I am going to use mine for escort cards and thank-yous, and maybe favor tags too. Just thought I'd pass it along!
  8. KatieK, we're using Michelle De La Torre. Still trying to figure out music-- I am using WeddingWire to look for ceremony musicians and a DJ but haven't booked anyone yet. I've totally been dragging my feet on that. As far as where we're getting married, we booked a private estate that includes two houses in Islamorada.
  9. We're doing the same thing, KatieK28! Isn't Debbie great? We're going down there again over Thanksgiving to do some more planning stuff.
  10. I would wait a few months and see if you lose some weight. You really don't need to order a dress this far out-- 6 months is pretty standard. Then when you do order, order for the size you are at that time. It's a lot easier to take in a gown than it is to let one out.
  11. I'm sorry to hear this has caused a problem for you and your fiance. In my case, FI didn't consult me at all and purchased something that I probably wouldn't have picked for myself (a channel-set eternity band). But I love how it sparkles, how easy it is to wear, and that he didn't have to bankrupt himself to pay for it. We've talked about upgrading in a few years anyhow, and he is not at all hurt by the suggestion. I'm even going for a very plain/simple band-- just ordered from Ross-Simons actually.
  12. Gorgeous dress! I think hairstyle #2 would look great on you with that dress. The headband would complement the crystals on the bodice.
  13. Born makes some nice fisherman's sandals that are pretty enclosed. Here is a page with their styles. I think my FI is going to go for a similar look-- he's not really into showing off his toes either!
  14. It's hard to say without seeing more of the dress-- it looks like a silk chiffon dress with a halter neck (maybe jeweled?) and a big cut up the front. Does that sound right to you?
  15. While #1 is a beautiful dress, I think that #2 is much more flattering on you.
