I need to vent a little bit as well! so it could be long haha - moreso just me complaining. so my MOH is doing the invitations for us, we went out together and bought all the stuff so she could get started on them in September! so that was about 4 or 5 months ago now. I asked her if i could get them from her at the beginning of december and she said no problem, so december rolls around and nothing, i asked her a couple times, trying not to be mean about it, cause i know these things take time. so last weekend, i called her and asked if i could come and pick up the invitations and she said she wasn't done yet! so i was like ok then, how much longer do you think you will need? so she said a week, so thats fine. SO i mentioned to her that i was just doing up my envelopes with the labels and what not, and she goes, well you can just drop them off here and i can stuff them for you. so i was like what?! so keep in mind that i havent even seen what she has done so far, and she wants to stuff the envelopes without me even seeing the invitations. she hasn't even told me where she is at with them, despite me asking her. i know that if i had volunteered to do someone's invitations for them that i would be giving them a progress report and letting them ssee what i was doing just to make sure i was going in the right direction - but nothing...ughh. so yeah, that was my vent - not really sure what to do about that. My FI is angry about it, but she is my best friend, so i dont want to be mean to her... Oh Stephers, you are a stronger woman than me! I did my invitations myself and didn't let anyone else even touch them. My MOH is also my soon to be sister in law, she has offered to help, but honestly I'm a control freak, and so I'm very particular about what I would allow her to help with. Have you thought about suggesting that you two stuff the envelopes together? You could suggest to have a friend date and get together to finish up the invites together. Maybe that might be a way for you to be more involved in the situation and put some soft pressure on her to get her butt in gear. That way you could also see the invites before they are sent out? -

Do you ladies know anything about this? Just a thought.. bit fuzzy today I just woke up! Kim ;-) Hi Kim, Yes, I've heard of this too. I plan to bring all receipts for anything I'm bringing with me that is for the wedding (and that I have lots of), OOT Bag contents, decos, etc. -

And in return I got an email from someone else at the office offering to help me! So I am not sure about the wedding discussions we had...I haven't heard anything seperately from Lindsay yet so I don't know if she is still working or not. And here I thought everything was worked out as far as a travel agent... looks like I may be on the hunt again! Hey Sheri, Yeah, when I sent my email to Lindsay, I got an email letting me know that she no longer works there as well. I was put in contact with Christine who works there, and she seems to be good so far. Although because of the Christmas season, etc, I still can't seem to get any prices or quotes from anyone. Lots of talk back and forth, but nothing...still....I may just end up having my guests book separately. I don't know....

Wow! Lots of new ladies on this thread! That's awesome! Welcome Kim, it sounds like you are in high gear! I think making the list will definitely help - and also try to remember to enjoy everything you are doing! And definitely focus on the positive people who are celebrating the fact that you are getting married! Welcome Robyn! I too was mistaken to think that this destination wedding stuff is easier...it seems to be pretty tricky! But the way I see it is, if a DW is this hard, imagine how hard a wedding at home would be! YIKES! Hi Julie! Welcome back! Hope your planning has been going well! Susie - I like your 2cents! and stupid stew...lol....I have a few I could add! Raykel - That's a big PITA with those extra 20 guests suddenly wanting to come! I would definitely start asking those 20 people about their exact travel/flight plans (aka if they have actually booked), so that you can determine whether they are actually coming or not. It's hump day ladies - 1 more day till Friday!! I accomplished starting and almost finishing my checklists for what to do before wedding, what to do for travel to Mexico, and what to pack. That was a big project! I'm almost done my music list too! -

Hi girls, good news I'm finally starting to feel a little better, but still not hundred percent. I'm starting to feel the stress of planning, and I'm 6 months away, I can't imagine what you girls are going through with only 1-2 months! YIKES! You are all so graceful under pressure! My current stress is travel arrangements, so after much frustration and deliberation with my mother, I've decided to just have my guests book separately. Most of them have already told me this is what they wish to do anyways, since they can save a lot of money that way. All the quotes I have been given by TA's are outrageous - not a little savings, but rather a large savings of 1,000 or more to go through a site like expedia or redtagvacations, etc. It's kind of disappointing because i really had wished to have everyone book together so we could be close together in the resort, but I guess we'll manage. I'm also not looking forward to having everyone asking me questions about booking, as opposed to the TA, but I guess that's what happens. I never imagined THIS would be the most stressful part of wedding planning. I'm just trying to remember that no matter what happens, it will be an awesome time and trying not to stress about the little details - but it's hard not to!! Susie - sorry to hear of your difficulties with stepdaughter, I might have strangled her with that straigtener cord...you are a strong woman! Brooke - YAY for FREE TV!! That's awesome!! Shells - sorry to hear about your car accident. I'm glad you are okay though! Raykel, I can understand your situation with FI and trying to get opinions, input, etc. My FI usually says uh-huh, that sounds great honey, it's your day whatever you want....blah, blah, blah....URRRGGHHHH!! Sometimes I just wanna shake him till he gives me his opinion! I think my biggest fear is I will do all this planning and preparing, and then when we get down there, someone will say, oh this would have been better if...or that's great but it would be better with this....and then I'll probably either a) scream or cry... sometimes I feel like I'm all alone in this, and then I remember all my wonderful February brides who are here to help, console, and give advice! You guys are awesome!!! Krista H - I totally know how you feel about the stress thing too - I hate when people say - don't stress, blah blah blah, but they can't understand what you are going through! sometimes, it's nice to just have a listening ear...you know? I'm also thinking about real touch flowers - I like the idea of having them afterwards as a keepsake. I want to write my own ceremony, but not sure how much I can change or include, since we are doing the legal one. Anyway, now that I've vented....sorry ladies. I must be stressed from this cold, going back to work, and all this travel arrangement crap.... -

Hi Ladies! Happy New Years Eve! I'm finally starting to get over this sickness, and I've been spending some much needed down time with my sweetie. We both had this week off so we've been shopping, catching up, and watching lots of movies! It's been great! We have NYE plans to get together with friends but I'm not sure if I'll be doing too much drinking as I'm still finishing up my antibiotics Anyway, I feel like I've missed so much! There were about 7 pages I had to read! YIKES! LOL! Brooke - I love both styles, but I have to agree with the other girls, number 1 has something about it that is so unique! I would choose that one. FutureMrs Goodrich - I'm doing a TTD too, and I'm also buying a separate cheaper dress for that - my bridal dress is too pretty to trash - and I know I will probably never wear it again but something about being able to if I want to is exciting! Susie - I hope you can find something good for your Sweetpea! I'm glad to hear that your brother booked finally. I can imagine this situation with his girlfriend is a hard one - as you and him both seem to have big hearts and want to help her. I hope she can find her way and get her life together! Have great celebrations tonight ladies! The close countdowns for your weddings are on! -

LOL....you girls are so awesome! I agree that you have such a wonderful relationship going on here! I only became an honourary February bride a few days ago, and I already feel so welcomed and supported by you all! I'm going to be sad when you are all married and I still have 4 lonesome months to go! I hope you will all still come on and chat with me! Brooke I'm glad to hear that you got a new WC, hopefully this one can answer all your questions. Futuremrsgoodrich - YAY for dress coming in! Good luck with your fitting! Have fun at your dance lessons too! My FI and I were thinking about dance lessons, but we've also been thinking about doing our first dance very casual and relaxed and a little playful, just cause that's our style. We were thinking Al Green's Let's Stay Together...plus we'll be dancing our first dance on the beach, so we can really do anything too elaborate. We might take some salsa dance classes or something like that though, just in case we get the chance to do that at the resort! Susie I'm glad to hear you are feeling better! Continue to get lots of rest and drink lots of...fluids...lol....and you'll be better in no time!! p.s. I think this bunny is my new favourite smiley He just makes me wanna dance! -

Hi Sue - looks like you are from pretty close to Gander too! Man it's a small world hey?!! I'm glad you were able to get back home for a bit. I haven't been back home for about 8 years - last time was for my poppy's funeral. So sad, but it was a great chance to reconnect with all my relatives (my mom has 7 brothers and sisters)! It is such a beautiful place and I hope to take my FI out there soon. As for the wedding - my mom has requested that we play at least a few newfie songs...my FI asked if we could compromise and just play Great Big Sea - I laughed at him...lol...I told him he will just have to put up with it! -

So here it is so far....the first one is just the dress and the second one is the sandles I think I will wear to the reception (thanks for the pose Timberly!). Raykel you look gorgeous! And your waist IS super tiny!! I hope I can look like that in my dress! WOW! Sue - sorry to hear that you are not feeling well! I hope you get better soon! Where are you from in Newfoundland? I was born in Gander, my grandparents and my mom and her siblings grew up in Campbellton (near Lewisporte), which is where I was until I was 2 years old. I'm so excited for the wedding cause all my aunts, uncles, and cousins are coming (all newfies too..lol) so it should be interesting to see how the FI's family reacts...lol...my MIL is definitely conservative, and I worry a little bit about how uncomfortable she may be as my family is definitely NOT conservative at all....loud and rowdy is more like it! Tricia - sorry to hear about your package! I hate when that happens! That's one of the reasons I hate online shopping - I wish we had a VS store here that I could just go to! Welcome to the forum Carly! I hope you can get some good advice and support here! Are you ladies excited for Christmas? I'm excited, but worried about Christmas with the inlaws - SIL is causing some grief for me, being rude, etc....and I'm afraid Christmas will be a little uncomfortable - if I say something or if I don't, either way I'll be uncomfortable...ugh... -
