I don't want to be one of those couples who have problems and it takes a year or longer. I'll give up before that happens. I am 35... I don't want to be changing diapers in my 40's... It's funny, our photographer kept our wedding party with us the whole time and afterwards I said to my husband, I don't think we have many of just us. But apparently he was taking them in between... the whole thing is a blur to me. The major thing I would have done differently was had made someone in charge of the reception to keep the flow going. We needed an MC. It was my photographer who let us know that we were really falling behind. We did our first dance right away at the beginning which I liked, but then we took way too long for dinner. By the time we did speaches and the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance it was 9:20pm (for a reception that was supposed to end at 10pm!!) We bought an extra hour, but I really wish we could have bought two extra hours but they wouldn't let us. So yeah, I would have give someone the job of MC so that speaches could have been done during desert or something so dancing could have started earlier. But anyway, it's all irrelevant now and everyone had a fabulous time. I just had this awesome playlist on our ipod and we had to cut out over an hour of it!! Oh! and!!! use soundcheck!!! Our dinner music kept going loud and quiet. I got major flack from my big bro over that one, lol What can you do? It's a little late now. TGIF girls!!! Christina you are 35?? No way!! You look 26 in your pics!! I wouldn't worry about getting preggers, it'll happen, just relax and let it come...no pun intended!!
  2. Hey ladies, I know you are all post-wedding, and some are having post-wedding blues (svetayasofiya - don't worry, I think that's normal because I do the same thing! Just try to think about how wonderful your day was and focus on the positive things and I bet everyone who was there talked about how amazing it was and that it was the best wedding that they had ever been too!) anyway, I've been getting lots of pre-wedding stuff done. Just under 4 months to go! YIKES! I have 7 guests booked so far and about 10 more who are about to book. YAY!! I tried on my dress the other day for my mom (she lives far away so she wasn't here when it came in), and she had tears in her eyes! It was awesome. The first time I tried it on, it was a little tight, but now it fits almost just right, so I still have about 10-15 pounds to lose, but I can do it! I tried on my veil with the dress, but since my dress is champagne and I didn't really think of that when buying my veil, I now have to try and tea dye my veil to match. I got it on discount, so if it doesn't work that's okay, i'll just go buy another. I may also be able to use FI mom's veil (could be my something old and borrowed). I went shopping this last weekend (my mom was down for my birthday and to see my dress and I found the perfect pink purse to match my perfect pink shoes. I love it! My bouquet and hair flowers are also on the way, and I have purchased some starfish necklaces/earring sets for myself, MOH, and my mom. Also got two new bikinis and a few new tanktops. I'm planning to get some rhinestone hot fix iron ons and make my own "bride" tanktop, as well as tanktop for MOH, MOTB and MOTG. I also have a few cute little sundresses and fancy dresses that I got at sears clearance! Great price and I love them! I think that's it for now, been very busy girl!! I can't wait till my classes are finished for this semester (mid April) so I can really get cracking on the wedding stuff. I'm getting so pumped!! I love seeing everyone's pictures and it just makes me daydream more about my own dreamy perfect wedding day! Thank you for sharing with me!!! I love you guys! Krista

  4. It's still cold here! It's -3 (feels like -10 with wind), and freezing drizzle! UGH! Still piles and piles of snow everywhere! But spring will be here in April! YAY for April!
  5. Hey Cassie, Thanks so much for your help. Unfortunately, they don't ship to Canada (story of my life!) I think I might try to tea dye the white veil that I bought on discount.
  6. Hi everyone, my dress is "pearl" color (like a light champagne), but I've tried on traditional white veils and they look terrible. I'm wondering if anyone has an ivory/champagne colored veil for sale? I'm not looking for anything too fancy or long.
  7. Brooke you look gorgeous! I love the pic of you and hubby laughing - that's such a great capture of emotion! You both look so amazingly happy!

Also are the Dreams brides also staying at the hotel or just having your wedding there? Someone please fill me in! Hi Tinalv, I can't speak for the other dreams brides, but the reason I chose it is not just the property, but also the location. I chose Dreams Tulum because it's remote enough that you can walk along the beach and not see too many people, so if you want your own private area of beach you can find that! (Romantic in my opinion!), and also I chose it because it's remote but you can still access cool places/activities within relatively cheap taxi rides/collectivo rides. The Dreams resorts also have a ton of activities every day for guests, and I have heard so many amazing things about the guest service at Dreams Tulum, which is also really important to me. Dreams also has great prices on wedding packages and if you choose, you can have a free wedding, as long as you have so many rooms booked (I think its 5 rooms for 3 nights) , which if your guess are staying there, makes it easy to get the free package.

I haven't seen them in real life yet, they are being shipped from the states as we speak. But I'm assuming they look pretty real because they are made from a silky material that is soft and flexible. I'll let you know once I receive them how they feel. My colour scheme is hot pink/fuschia (like the flowers), which includes my bouquet, purse, and shoes as well as centerpieces. My second color is deep teal/oasis colour. That's the colour of my bridesmaid dress, accents on my bouquet, as well as chair sashes and ribbons on favors, etc. My base colour/third colour is deep chocolate brown. My mom has a deep brown dress, and we are including deep brown in our favors (pretty sure we will have deep brown maracas or ribbons on the maracas in that colour), and there was deep brown on our invitations. What about you? What's your colour scheme? Do you know what flowers you would like?
  10. Hi Dreams Brides! How's the planning going? My next big task is rings. I just got my real touch bouquet finished and I love it! It's starting to feel more and more real. My hubby to be saw my bouquet pics and he was like WOW! It seems so real! I said, yes, it does, and it seems to feel more and more real each time we accomplish something else on the list!
  11. Hey Woodsylou, I've gotten some more things taken care of! I actually just had my real touch flowers done for my bouquet and here's the final results! I'm so happy with how it turned out! I highly recommend anyone looking to do real touch flowers to work with Danielle on Etsy! She does wonderful work!
  12. Oh my gosh Susie!! THAT'S RIDONCULOUS!! You took my son out of the country!! I think the way you handled that conversation was much nicer than how I would have handled it! LOL! Mine definitely would have involved f words, along with b words, s words, and any other kind of nasty word! LOL! What an AHOLE!
  13. Congrats Shells, Teneil, Erica and Breens! Your pictures are all beautiful! Gorgeous brides!! Tricia and Brooke I'm so excited for you guys! Enjoy your trips and your big day! I'm so excited to meet up with you guys at my wedding too!! Yeah, my family probably will be surprised, but it will be a good surprise! They'll probably think WOW! I can't believe these girls would come all the way just to meet up - that must be some kind of friendship! I got some exciting news yesterday, my bouquet is ready from Danielle on Etsy. I will try to post pictures, but I'm still not quite sure how to do it.
  14. Timberly I just saw your pics and they are gorgeous!! WOW! I'm so glad your day turned out so beautifully after all that mess at the airport! 18. Wow! You had such a beautiful wedding! Your photos are gorgeous! Congratulations! Do you mind if I ask, did you bring those teal chair sashes with you, or did the resort provide them? I'm trying to figure out what color selection they have. Thanks!
  19. How many of you Tulum brides are doing a legal ceremony, or just a blessing or symbolic ceremony?

  21. Hi Ladies. Wow! It's has been a while. I tried three times to get on here/post last week and the site was so slow, and wouldn't let me post or sometimes even get on the site!! Anyway, I'm finally able to get on again!! YAY! Congrats to all the new brides! Susie, Julie, Alison, Erica, Shells, Timberley and Tesia! And congrats to the three brides for tomorrow! Chris, Krista H and TeNeil! I hope your days are everything you hoped for and more! I can't believe after tomorrow, we only have four more!! You ladies must be sooo excited! I can't wait to see pictures from all of you! Alison your pictures are gorgeous! I agree with Brooke that one of the man weeping is so touching! Welcome Adelaide! We should definitely target the April brides now, I gotta have something to do to tide my time until my July wedding...lol...
  22. Cougs - that's very helpful thank you! I'm getting married at Dreams Tulum, but it's still in Quintana Roo, so hopefully the same rules will apply. Maybe I will just take the "telling" approach as opposed to the asking approach. I will just tell my WC that I want my friend/mother, etc read this piece, etc.
