The rest of the rooms (including the hacienda ocean view/front, etc) have at least a bathtub. The Dreams Rooms have the jacuzzi tub. I was very disappointed to learn this because this was one of the reasons I chose Dreams Tulum (because I thought even the basic room had a single person jacuzzi bath tub). I thought the higher up rooms (Dreams Rooms) had double person jacuzzis. So I'm disappointed now and I'm afraid of how the guests might feel once they find out that there are no tubs in their rooms when they are spending $300 per night to stay there!

February 2010 brides
*Krista* replied to shellk's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hi Ladies! I had a great weekend. Went to Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum with Sean and it was AWESOME! I absolutely am in love with Tim McGraw (Sean joked when he saw me all dolled up that I should remember him when I run away with Tim...lol! I told him that I'm cute, but I don't think I'm any match for Faith...lol!!! Anyway, the trip was nice (2.5 hours driving), it gave us a chance to talk about lots of wedding stuff, since we are both so busy otherwise! We figured out out invite list for AHR, along with reception details for Mexico wedding, oh and my vistaprint order arrived!! YAY!! I ordered a bunch of free stuff (a t-shirt that says Soon to be Mrs. Allen and I love the Groom, a free tote bag, free postcards - to be used as welcome letters in OOTS bags, free pen, free business cards, which have a little saying on them and I am going to use to attach to the maraca favors, oh and magnets that say thank you for sharing our special day. I will post pics as soon as I get a chance. Right now I am so busy with school semester ending and it's the busy time starting at my job, so it's a little hectic. I try to find time here and there to jump on the forum throughout the day while I'm at work to give my brain a rest. Ali your pics are gorgeous! I think my favourite pics of a wedding are those ones before hand, where the bride is getting ready. There is so much anticipation and excitement in those pictures. It gives me tingles thinking about getting ready for my special day. Although on the day of the wedding, it will probably be more like stomach flip flops than tingles...lol!! Chris - you need to definitely start stalking now! He promised end of the week! I don't like when people push deadlines, especially when you are paying for a service! Even a few pics that he has already done would be nice! Have you asked him to send even just a few teasers, or a few unedited ones? I'm learning alot from you ladies about photos and making sure that I have ideas of what I want from my photographer and ensuring I will get my photos in a timely fashion! Thanks for all the advice! Keep it coming!! -

February 2010 brides
*Krista* replied to shellk's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Awwww!!! Thanks Timberly!!! You guys really are the best! Maybe there is some correlation between people who get married in February and personality?? LOL!! There's the psychologist in me coming out. I had actually been considering February originally but with both of us being students and having only about one week free in February - it had to be July. This weekend is going to be nice! FI and I are going up to Saskatoon (city about 2.5 hours away) to stay with friends and see a Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum concert on Sunday night! I'm so excited! Hopefully I will come back refreshed and relaxed! Have a great weekend ladies!! -

Thanks Christina! I know you guys are here for me! You are awesome!! The most important people have booked (mothers and bridal party), and actually one of our good friends just called to let me know that him and his wife are just waiting for their confirmation, but they have booked as well! YAY!! There are some other important people I would like to book though, like my aunts and my cousin (who is like a sister to me because we grew up in the same city together), but they haven't fully committed to booking yet. I guess if they can't come, there's not really any point in worrying. I think at this point, I just want to know who is coming for sure or not, so that I can start planning more stuff. I can't do OOT bags or decos or even pick my wedding package until I know how many peeps are booking for sure. Well, I'm not going to worry about it right now. If they still haven't booked by end of April though I might freak out a little! LOL! I'm excited to see your pics too!! Hopefully end of this week means Friday, but if not you'll have them by Sunday, right? I saw some of your nonprofessional ones on FB and they are beautiful! You remind me of someone, or look like some celebrity, but I can't quite put my finger on it....mmm...I'll have to think about it and figure it out! And the stalking thing...that's funny! I stalk people all the day long on facebook. I don't really think of it as stalking as more exploring who they are and their life! LOL! I love looking at pictures of other people and their lives and imagining what it's like. I have friends that I met who live in England, and it's really cool to see the places they visit, live, drive, etc. I think I have this fairytale vision of what it would be like to live there and they probably think the same way about me here (ok maybe not when it's -50 in saskatchewan winter lol).... anyway, yeah, I've been a few places. I lived in South Korea for 3 years, so that helped, I got to travel to Japan, Bali, Singapore, and Thailand. I'm excited to go to Mexico to add it to my list of travels. I can't wait to visit Europe someday! Maybe after my masters, but I don't want to put off having babies for too long. We'll see what happens! -

Hey ladies! Christina I'm sorry to hear your pics are still not done! I'm sure they will be ready soon and you will be revelling in them for weeks/months/years to come! Well, I would just like to vent about how frustrated I am! I'm posting in several other threads for July brides, July Dreams brides, etc. and nobody is responding with anything! What the heck? Is everyone too busy or what?? I don't understand and I'm a little upset because I want to be able to talk and read about other brides who are going through same things as me! I really wish that the July brides would have the same friendship that the February brides have! I miss you guys!!! I know i have you guys but you have all moved on past the wedding planning stage now Sorry ladies for the vent...I'm just having a blah week. I'm trying to be excited, but it doesn't seem like anyone else is excited with me. Not to mention that all of our friends/family are still taking their time booking. I keep trying to tell them they need to book asap, but they keep putting it off until it's eventually going to be too late! I only have just over 3 months left! WHOA! Okay, well my vent made me feel a little better. I hope you are all having fun being newlyweds with babymaking, house shopping, AHRs and all! -

Hi Tinalv, was that for two people? I'm assuming it is because that is quite high. I'm not sure about Dreams Cabos, but Dreams Tulums rooms, their lowest room - gardenview - is about $350 for two people per night. How's the planning coming ladies? I got a few more things on my list - my flowers arrived!! YAY!! And I have ordered my "I do" stickers for my shoes, as well as my wedding accessories. Currently working on finishing up my DIY veil, and getting the alterations done on my dress next month. Also doing up invites to the AHR next month as well. My to-do list is getting smaller and smaller. Luckily most of the things on the list are now a matter of "doing", as opposed to "buying or spending", so that's a plus!! My budget is sitting around $7000 so far. I think I can pull off everything for under or close to $10,000 (my original budget!)!! YAY!! I also finished my monogram. It's in my siggy. What do you think? -
Hi Ladies! Thanks for your input! I appreciate it! I think I like the idea of using it as extra support for my bustle. I was only planning to have a one point bustle anyways, because my train really isn't very long.
-
Has anyone ever used a pin/brooch to bustle their dress for the reception, and if so, did it work? I've been considering using a brooch and just pinning it through the layers of my dress to create my bustle, as opposed to creating bustle loops/buttons/hooks, since there isn't really a place to put them on my dress. My only concern is that my dress is a heavy satin material. The train is not long, which is helpful because it's not too heavy, but do you think if I pinned it with a brooch that it would hold? Any thoughts? Thanks ladies!

Our parents have never met so this is sure to be interesting Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: I am getting nerves about people booking, it seems like everyone is waiting until the last minute. The only people who have booked are my immediate family, mom, dad, sisters. Hi Carina, I'm in same position as you. Only people who have booked are immediate family, some friends are currently in the process of booking (looking at prices, waiting for best price to book), and some have said they really want to come but don't know if they will be able to afford it. My thoughts are if you are 3.5 months away from wedding date and you don't think you can afford it now, will you be able to save enough in three months?? It's not really something you can book last minute even if you could save that amount. Especially since my hotel is really small and there probably won't be rooms! YIKES! May be a small wedding afterall! -

Hi Linda, I'm interested in the destiny impressions chiffon dress. I'm a size 10, so I'm just wondering what the measurement is for the chest, as you had it altered to fit your size (. The specific measurement would help me to determine if it will fit. Thanks! Krista -
