Your events are absolutely gorgeous!!! Thank you! You just gave me an interesting puzzle with what you both are looking for and I worry at it until I figure it out . It's sortof like people who like crossword puzzles!!
  8. I had another thought! You could recreate a "chapel" outside ... one time we did this wedding where we created two stained glass (they weren't stained glass - but we painted them to look like they were) pieces at the front of the ceremony - you could have something similar done and, then, have additional ones on each side to give it an "outdoor chapel" feel. I was thinking about this glass church we saw one time in Arkansas - even the ceiling was made of glass! Anyway, just a thought!

    Hi...

Congrats and welcome to the forum!!
  14. They do hold up - as long as they are in water and in air conditioning before the ceremony and you take them out as you are getting ready to walk down the aisle. They should (depending on time of year and flower) hold up for all the ceremony and most of the reception. If they are in oasis (i.e. in a hold as opposed to just long stems) they will, of course, last a lot longer. When I say "hold up" I mean they won't start looking all wilted. Flowers in a bouquet holder have always looked good enough that we've been able to display them on the cake table with the cake .
  15. Congrats and welcome to the forum!!

The problem is: He is Catholic (even though he doesn't attend church on a regular basis) and he sort of wants to get married in a Catholic church. I think Catholic churches (especially in Mexico) are gorgeous and I think Catholicism is a beautiful! But, when it comes down to it, I am non-denominational and would prefer to get married in nature. I think he understands and he LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the beach, so I think it is the "next best thing" to him. In fact, he might even prefer it. He kind of swings back and forth on this issue. Of course, in a way, I feel guilty and don't want to pester him on locations. But I probably will once we get "officially" engaged. LOL! You just made me think of something .... I know your guy doesn't like PV .... but a good compromise (to the whole catholic thing) would be the chapel at Hacienda San Angel - it is absolutely gorgeous. You could get married there and then go to the Botanical Gardens (outside of town, really pretty) or even go back up north for the reception. Anyway, just a thought .

My husband and I aren't big "posers", but the whole time we had our pictures... the translator would said.. "do whatever you want".. and "act natural". WTF?? We were not told once how to stand, nor did she give us any direction. I paid for a professional because I thought that is what they do.. pose us "professionally". Our group pictures are juat aweful, our ceremony pictures "amaturish", and our dinner/reception.. well let's just say we are using friends and families' pictures to put in our wedding album. Before you drop a grand on pictures.. I would look elsewhere. I would absolutely recommend the dazzling details, but invest in someone other than Paulina for your "professional" photographs. Something else ... I know this DOES NOT excuse the fact that you didn't have a good time with your photographer and that you are unhappy with your pictures!! - but a few days before your wedding, someone broke into her apartment when she was sleeping and stole all of her camera equipment, her laptop, her keys and her purse (wallet, id, credit cards, etc.). The camera she was using for your wedding was a borrowed camera, as she had to order a new one and it hadn't come in yet. So, it is possible that the experience she had only a few day's earlier, plus using a borrowed camera, really didn't make for the greatest combination.

I'm so sorry you didn't like your pictures!!! All the photos on my gallery were taken by Pau and she also, over the years, has taken some of me and other brides I've worked with and she's always done a great job. I've also seen photographs she's done of other weddings (bride and groom, family and guests) and they've turned out really amazing. I feel so bad for you that you had such a bad experience with her! I will definitely make a comment to her (without mentioning you directly!!) about what you said so that she can see what she can do to improve her communication with brides.

Good luck with that seeing the light thing ! I had a 50/50 chance of helping my hubby see it before we were married and, while that has increased to a better 80% chance, he's still a guy and sometimes seeing the light is really hard for them :). lol
  21. Congrats and welcome to the forum - I don't know about Tulum, but I do believe PV is cheaper than Cabo (one of the reasons we decided to stay here instead of moving).
  22. Well, not from Cabo, but absolutely Congrats and welcome to the forum!!!
