  1. As some of you may or may not know, I post a blog twice a month mostly geared towards the coordinators/villa owners here in Vallarta re: the hottest wedding trends outside our little town that we can actually incorporate here ... this month I wrote about the Vintage trend, in case you were interested in that decor yourself. 2. You know, for something really inexpensive but that would still look nice would be to just buy plain glass vases and fix seashells in the shape of the heart on the outside. I would do taller vases and then make the hearts taller - that's more artistic than a rounder, full heart. Then I would fill part of the vase with sand and put a votive in the middle. At night, the light will shine through the seashells and should give it a really pretty effect.

  7. KISA, I also asked the salon owner of the salon where my hubby works and she says that she does (and has done) make-up for darker complexions as well. The salon is called "Elle".

  9. I just did a search in flickr under "puerto vallarta postcard" and came up with a ton of them. So, that's my first suggestion.

  12. It's one of my favorite places!! But, for some reason, not real popular with out of town brides ... one of my favorite weddings I ever designed was done there ... these are the photos... Mediterranean in Mexico Wedding - a set on Flickr
  13. Depends on what she means by "simple flowers." Most of our flowers are shipped-in from GDL - if she wants something that is out of season, then it has to be imported, so it will be more $$. However, if she doesn't care what it is and just wants something inexpensive, then her best bet might be to find a little store called Freesia (there was a big long discussion about this earlier with all their info) and pick-up the flowers herself and do her own bouquets.
  14. Congrats and welcome to the forum! I love Tam and Lucie!! Good choice! :)

  18. I've never seen a bonfire on the beach, but that's not to say it couldn't happen. I know, when I lived in LA, we did bonfires quite a bit - but that's not something that's common here.

  24. Two things ... first, keep in mind that Gabi is THE ONLY coordinator for all of Dreams - and often times they can have 2-3weddings going on the same day during the busy season. So, it's a lot to handle. She's a GREAT person, but anyone would have a hard time doing all the things she's expected to do. So, an outside coordinator can really be a help if you have a lot of additional items you would like in your wedding. Second - However, if it's just details you want (tablecloths, napkins, centerpieces, placecards, special bouquet, favors, special cake, etc.) than you might want to keep us in mind - that's ALL we do. However, we don't handle anything to do with logistical coordination (i.e. musicians, sound system, scheduling, etc.).
  25. I went and visited Gabi, the coordinator at Dreams, personally today about another matter and asked her about this. She told me that they are planning on updating some of the rooms and some parts of the facilities, but they still don't know when or what or how. So, right now, there's just talk about doing some updating but no real date set. And, whatever they plan on doing, I'm pretty sure they will do their utmost not to disrupt what happens with the hotel too much - these sorts of things take a long time to plan and a long time to implement, so I wouldn't worry about it for next year. Gabi didn't say this, but I would be really surprised if they tried to do anything during the "high" season here which runs Oct-May and it would be much more common for them to attempt something during the "low" season (June-September). :smile
