  1. Just about Dreams and outside WC's - other WC's do and are allowed to work at Dreams ... such as Incredible Weddings, Vows Vallarta, Prisar, among others. However, with that said, most of these coordinators work some resorts more frequently than others for various reasons - much of it having to do with the relationship they have personally with the on-site WC - you know - the more you work in a place, the more you know how it works, the better you know the people, the easier it is to get things done. Just so you know :).

Any help would be great! Hello! Well, this sounds like an easy question but it's actually a little difficult -finding someplace that has great authentic food but is also affordable is where the hard part comes in. The first restaurant that comes to mind is El Dorado, and mostly because I was trying to think of a place authentic/affordable that would also allow for a rehearsal dinner (i.e. I don't think El Brujo would be open to a rehearsal dinner because it's so small, it would close the restaurant and Pipis doesn't take reservations, etc.). El Dorado Restaurant on Los Muertos Beach in Puerto Vallarta There's a new restaurant with a great view of downtown called Chilaquiles - their prices looked reasonable to me and I know they really want new business, so I know they are open to having rehearsal dinners there - but like I mentioned, I haven't eaten there yet, so I'm not sure what the food is like. Their information is: Zaragoza 160 4th Floor, Es. Juarez. Tel: 322-223-9482, email: [email protected], manager: Antonio Sanchez Flores Let me think about this some more - I might be able to come-up with a place that's better :).
  3. Britt - HAHA!! I just realized it's you!! Anyway, there's the contact information and my two cents about it! :) -mishka
  4. Brittany, Hello! The tent rental in town is called Chalita. GRUPO CHALITA -. I know Chalitas does rent lounge furniture, but if I were you, I would much prefer to rent furniture through MobiTrendy and their website is here: Tendy -Mobiliario- . Word of warning - as with any dealings with most Mexican companies you have to babysit them. So, if you are fairly fluent in Spanish and are okay with delegating the task of babysitting your rentals (i.e. having someone make sure that they arrive on time when you need them and over-see them putting them up) then you don't need a coordinator. But, if you do not speak fluent Spanish (or have someone in your family who does) and do not want to have to worry about whether your equipment will be on time and put up correctly, I highly highly advise that you utilize a wedding coordinator. I am not being facetious - this is just a fact of working in Vallarta. You MAY be able to rent some of the decor things that you want with these two companies, as long as you aren't too picky about what it is. Vallarta is still eons behind other major cities when it comes to that and most of the cool stuff you see on websites is equipment owned by whoever has the photo on their website - in other words, it's not rented from a rental company. hope that helps!! -m
  5. And thanks guys for all your messages - I'm never sure whether to say "thank you" on here or to say my thank yous to my cat here in Vallarta as ya'alls representative so as not to clutter the thread .

You're right, the price does vary, depending on how many colors and how much detail (more colors+more detail=more time which = more $$). But the red with white lace that you like is a simpler theme, so that would start at $3.50 usd per maraca. If you wanted names painted on them, etc., that would depend on how much wording :). Any other questions, please PM me or you can email me at [email protected]. And I did have a nice weekend, thank you!! .
  7. Gilda, Hello! ALL of the flowers we get in Vallarta itself are shipped-in from Guadalajara. We do have some flowers that are "native to our region" but they aren't the kind you can really use, because they aren't cultivated - you could possibly utilize bugambilia, but it's not something you can order from a florist - you'd have to ... "borrow" it from someplace . As for the rest of Mexico, we actually grow a lot of flowers that we,then, ship to the States ... so, we have calla lilies, roses, ranunculus, gerber daisies, ginger, birds of paradise, etc etc etc. There are some flowers we ship in - such as tulips and orchids and, sometimes, peonies. There are other flowers you just can't get. Such as lilacs. Anyway, it's probably easier to imagine what kind of flowers you like and then see if they are available . Hope that was helpful!! :).
  8. Okay my busy brides, the Sept blog is out - this one is pretty specific, so it won't be a blog for everyone . Omar and I designed and created some maracas to show ways you can take a regular maraca favor and turn it into something unique and completely "yours" .... enjoy :) Mishka Designs' Blog: A Maraca By Any Other Name...
