  19. Okay my lovely brides, the blog is out and, as one bride requested, the color palette of Blues and red! Mishka Designs' Blog: Shades of Blue and Cherry Reds! If you have something you would like a blog written on, let me know and I will see what I can do! Next month's blog ... lime, red and chocolate brown!
  20. A few notes re: this (good review!!). 1. Boca Bento is no longer located in Olas Altas. They are moving and will be located next to Mismaloya and I don't know what their space will look like. 2. El Dorado could handle more than 60 people. El Dorado Restaurant on Los Muertos Beach in Puerto Vallarta So could Ztai. ZTAI RESTAURANT, LOUNGE AND GARDEN, PUERTO VALLARTA 3. Missing a few really good coordinators: Lucie and Tamara at Incredible Weddings and Events (http://www.vallartaincredibleweddings.com/); Carol at Vows Vallarta (http://www.vowsvallarta.com/); Memo and Gabriella at Mar Weddings (:: marweddings ::). 4. Love Quinta del Mar (Villa Quinta del Mar - Perto Vallata, Jalisco Mexico) and China Blanca (Casa China Blanca - El Farallon - Costa Banderas - North Shore Puerto Vallarta - La Punta Realty, Punta de Mita luxury real estate and vacation rentals - Puerto Vallarta, Mexico), so don't forget those villas!! 5. Actually, the CHEAPEST option is normally to utilize a wedding package at a hotel. It won't be as personalized or detailed (and could be a headache, depending on how many weddings the on-site coordinator has), but it will be cheaper than if you have your event at a restaurant or a villa. Just my two pesos worth :). Also, keep in mind that a restaurant will charge a hefty rental price if you want them to close during the busy season and don't have a good amount of guests to off-set their costs.
  21. Jenn, I would think that was probably a civil ceremony not a spiritual ceremony, but I won't swear on it. The judges for the civil ceremony speak English but not really, really well, so it would not surprise me if they handed the paper to the bride and groom to avoid accent problems. Most of the spiritual ministers I know will not hand you a piece of paper to read. Just my two pesos worth .
  22. This was on my mind before and then things got busy and I forgot to mention it ... I just wanted to remind you, as you are looking for "just" the right coordinator for you, that just because a coordinator may not have the "best" looking gallery or photos doesn't necessarily mean they aren't a great coordinator ... oftentimes what it can mean is that they accept brides and grooms who don't have the $$ to put into the decor ... normally, in my experience, one of the first things to go when a bride and groom is trying to be budget conscious is the decor and that isn't reflective of how good a coordinator is - it just may mean they work with budget conscious bride and grooms and are more concerned with being a coordinator rather than focusing on the decor-end! I know you all want a beautiful wedding with all the bells and whistles, but sometimes you end-up with more guests than you thought, or the economy takes a dive, or who knows what happens and really pretty decor (while I am adamant that you get way more bang for your buck here than you do in N.A.) does cost some $$. So, anyway, just a reminder to keep that in mind when reviewing coordinators :).
  23. If you're a May PV bride and you haven't booked your coordinator or villa yet, please do so soon ... I already know of 4 different coordinators who are on the verge of (or who have already closed-off) May and I'm pretty sure by the 1st of November all 4 will have closed May off completely (as in they are full!!). If the coordinators are that booked, you can guarantee that the villas/locations are being (or have already been) booked ... so, if you want May in PV, book NOW! (don't say I didn't warn ya ).
