I'm not sure how much money it is, but the weddings that I did see on the beach were over very quickly (I'm assuming that they were legal ceremonies). If you wanted the flowers it would be extra to decorate the gazebo as well. The chuppa I posted (with either all white, or white and green fabric), with flower arrangments, is $400USD. For the extra $400...I'm thinking I could probably either just save the money for ourselves, or put it into extra flowers or tulle or whatever... I'm still not 100% on where we'll have our ceremony...but the sensible part of me is saying, how could we NOT have it in the gazebo...it really does sound lovely...private...and still on the beach/water! Thank you very much for your honest feedback...you could have just helped to save me a bundle! Shay2679 replied to Jacilynda's topic in Random Thoughts
Jacilynda, I joined an Aussie Meetup Group online, for Aussie's who live here in Montreal (I am not an Aussie...just trying to help you out)! I've posted to the group to see if any of them know whether we can purchase the beer here! I'll let you know either way... Hopefully your Uncle comes through! -

Our AHR was this weekend & I have to vent....
Shay2679 replied to Celina's topic in Just venting or funnies
Grr...its just such a piss off. It's so unfortunate that you got confirmation that these relatives were bums, but fuck, at your wedding?! JEBUS! Oh well Celina, you looked amazing from the few pictures I have seen...and, obviously your husband adores you...so...screw em! You already know, but I'll say it again, You're Better Off Without Them! If only I lived closer...I'd take me some Mexican food...mmmmmmm!!! -

Would it me less expensive and easier to have guests meet in of the Royal bars? Shay, I would LOVE to see pics of the cake. Should I PM you my email address? Also, have you chosen your reception menu? Hey, Nailing down your date, time and location are the only things I would try to get cleared up right away...if you haven't heard about those yet, then yes, sorry, I would continue to try to contact Zulma. Please PM your email addy, and I will send you the cake pic, along with anything else you'd like and don't already have. Yes, we have picked our reception dinner AND the hors d'oeuvres for our cocktail hour in-between (and our cake selection)! I think, but I could be wrong, you will be billed, regardless of whether you have your cocktails inside at the bar or seperately with a more formal cocktail hour. I believe it charged on a Per Person basis, and the location doesn't really matter. Someone with actual experience on this matter (!) will chime in I'm sure!

Try not to feel stressed about this. Honestly...what you should do while you wait to hear from your wedding coordinator, besides asking the recent brides here things, is to start compiling a list of things you'd like answers to, or confirmations of. 90% of the day, from what I've heard and been told, happens when you arrive in Mexico, all the planning, the finalizing...etc. The only thing my WC told me she needed to know a little in advance, is if we wanted orchids or calla lilies for the bouquets...she would need to order those. Even the color of fabric for our Chuppa, won't be finalized until we arrive in Mexico...so...though it IS nice to hear from them, really, as long as you stay organized here, you're still making headway in the planning! Plus if you have a list of questions, when you do hear from Zulma, you won't forget anything, and get it all taken care of in one go!

Thank you Jen! I appreciate all of your feedback! The Gazebo is something we are definitely going to keep in mind...but...I think once we are there, and we can see it for ourselves, it will be easier to decide! I'm going to send Micaela an email tomorrow...with a few things to clarify. I try not to email her too often, because as I'm sure you can relate, most of the details will be set up once we're there! Any other information that might help myself, and the other ladies, is always appreciated! Do either of you (Jen or Geminie) have planning/review threads with more pictures?! Just curious! Like so many others here...I LOVE me some pictures!

Wow Gem...it sounds like, though now blissfully married, it was a bit of a hairied experience (sorry - couldn't do without a hair pun in there). Its great you're focusing on the positives...its all you can do! I'm sure your photographs are going to be amazing... We're planning on using the Chuppa below (we just love the look of it) and...were wondering... 1) Did you see anyone else use this type of ceremony covering while you were there? Did it look like it offered any more privacy? 2) In your humble opinion...is it a waste of money? Should we just get married in the gazebo (the location does look pretty nice)! There are only going to be 13 (including FI and myself) there...and...for the money for the Chuppa...I'm really starting to question if it will be worth it for 20 minutes!...the nice thing is we'll all fit under the chuppa...so there's that... Anyways...same questions to you as I posted earlier... Anything, besides the timing of the morning events, that you wished you had known or asked about? Anything that the WC did automatically? Without you having to think of it...that really pleased you? pissed you off?! LOL xo Congrats on being a Mrs...I can't wait for my turn!

I just wanted to offer my condolences as well. Two years ago, my cousin(Don) was killed in a car accident two weeks before his little brothers (Brian) wedding. At the ceremony, the bridal party was uneven, and Brian, and the remaining GM, all wore shoes with a capital "D" on the side (my cousin owes a skateboard shop, so they have them made). EVERYONE at the wedding knew Don, and knew the loss the family was dealing with, but...it was remarkable to me at the time, how the day really was a celebration...both for my cousins marriage, and for Don's life. It was beautiful. During the Grooms speech, he did make reference to his brother a number of times, but it didn't detract from how excited he was for this day! During the slideshow, there was also a few pictures included of Don and Brian together. I think added your own personal touches, things that remind you of your friends, are not only a way of honoring them - and keeping it low key, but for anyone at the wedding who knew them as well...they will recognize the effort you have made to include them, as planned, in your special day. Good luck, and again, our condolences on your sad loss.

I have a few questions Mr. and Mrs. JenTwo! 1. While you were there, the other weddings that you saw happen, did any of them use the Chuppa setup? I am just wondering, based on your "layout" in the brochure, where the setup for the beach/chuppa wedding ceremony is located? 2. Do you know if the updated dance floor is only for larger groups? There will be 13 of us in total...but we LOVE the updated dance floor! Any insight as to whether it is used as a standard now, or if that rickety looking old white floor would be used? 3. Your menu selection sounds wonderful! I recently acquired the menu choices, and was wondering if your "package" of food, had a specific name? (Hopefully that doesn't sound weird)! 4. Were there things, that you hadn't thought of, that you wished you would have, now that its all over? Were there things that were done without having to ask, that pleased you? 5. Were your guests able to hear the ceremony over the wind, the ocean, etc? Was a mic provided? Did you have a CD or live music for your walk down the aisle? Who was in charge of that? Is there anything you can recommend to make this go well?! 6. That's all! Thanks!

Comfy Wedding shoes....help
Shay2679 replied to shellb's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hey...I was wondering if you had seen any of the "YOU" styles by CROCS? I don't know much about your condition, but...CROCS have extra padding in the ball of the foot and heel areas, and every pair I've worn has been extremely comfortable... Now they have this new line...YOU...and they are fashiony! http://shop.crocs.com/pc-1201-4-fren...tegories=3,123 http://shop.crocs.com/pc-1209-4-mona...tegories=3,123 http://shop.crocs.com/pc-112-4-sassa...tegories=3,123 The heels might still be too high for you, but you could always try this: mykonos metallic | YOU by crocs? | Crocs, Inc. http://shop.crocs.com/pc-1207-4-kona...tegories=3,122 I could be WAY off here, but just thought of them...and thought you might benefit from them! -

If you could design them...what would they look like? Heels? Flats? Accents? Color? I'm doing searches for you...but I would need a better idea as to what you're hoping for!! -

Thanks, V. willandveronica.com THANK YOU!! Yah...$500US for an hour of video...CRAP! The more I think about it, the more I would like video...but honestly...for $500...I think I'll just try to rig my little HD camcorder on a tripod...hook up a Mic...and hope it turns out! LOL I think since the Canadian dollar starting falling again, and all of our wedding stuff in Mexico is now costing us about 30% MORE than it was a month ago...I'm going to try to save EVERYWHERE I can! FYI: We are using the Mariachi Band associated with RPDC. I've heard good things!
