I was reading more in the WEDO website and this is what they have to say.... "WEDDING DOCUMENTATION (WE DO), HAS HANDLED THOUSANDS OF DOCUMENTS FOR CANADIAN COUPLES WHO HAVE BEEN LEGALLY MARRIED IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. AFTER BEING TRANSLATED, YOUR DOCUMENTS WILL BE DULY LEGALIZED BY THE CONSULATE OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC IN CANADA, ACCORDING TO LAW NO. 716, CHAPTER 1, ARTICLE 3, OF THE LEGAL BASE OF THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. PLEASE DON'T BE MISSLEAD BY COMPANIES DOING EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE TO DISCREDIT CERTIFIED COMPETITORS. That comment that the DRSI made scared me about WEDO not being legal. Anyone with more information would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm planning on getting married at the Melia Caribe resort in April 2009. I fell in love with the pics of the gazebo and horse drawn carriage. I'm trying to get info on the wedding packages from the resort but no word yet. Maybe someone on this forum can give me more info?? Also, i heard there's construction on the tropical side. Anyone else heard this? For those of you that have been there, did you see it and should it be a concern? Thanks...glad you started this thread. I'll be posting any info on this resort here as the time goes on. Happy planning!
