  1. Yikes, I don't want any of my girls to have their ends burned! Thanks for letting me know!

It started after my guests were all seated... We didn't get any break but it was quite fast... It was about 25 minutes. I didn't think my guests would have enjoy it but everybody was really impress with it... If you want more info, let me know I'd love more information about this, it sounds so unique! Would I just have to ask Jazmin about it when I get there or did you suggest it in advance? Was there an extra cost? Thanks so much.
  3. Oh, and update, I only hear from Jazmin when my TA harasses her, haha. But we are doing dinner and then a DJ and open bar until 11. My bouquet will be orange roses, my girls will have orange and white flowers. We're trying to move dinner earlier because my videographer will only be there for 5 hours and I want to make sure there is stuff for him to film besides us killing time between photos and the reception. You ladies have been so helpful. Thanks again
  4. Hey Ladies, I can't wait to hear all about the weddings that just took place! I leave on Wednesday so things are getting down to the wire!! (ok Morgan, calm down with the exclamation points ) My question right now is about the Spa. I've heard different things: I've heard that you cant book until you get to the resort, then I heard that you should book before you arrive. I've heard they don't use curling irons but rather a flat iron to curl your hair (this doesn't make sense to me) and I also heard that they burned some girls ends. Then I heard that they were great and there were not problems. Can anyone help me with this?? Thanks so much.
  5. Just what I was looking for! Morgan, you are all over this board!
  6. Danica, I'm November 15th at Tulum, looks like we will just miss each other!
  7. I understand you are frustrated but the entire resort is Gorgeous! Wherever you are married it will be beautiful and special. I think it would be a huge waste of money to cancel, get your TA to go to bat for you and they will be better at communicating. I've never had success on my own but as soon as my TA stepped in I heard from them the next day. I know your heart was set on the gazebo but it's not the end of the world. And you can even walk over to the gazebo for pictures later, no one can stop you! good luck
  8. Ladies! I know I've been in and out but I'm getting married in 19 days! It's crunch time! Here's what I have planned so far: We arrive at the resort Weds Nov 12th, the wedding is Nov 15th. Wedding is at 4:00, sunset is at 5:00 so this should be perfect timing. We are doing the symbolic ceremony and plan to add our own readings and vows After the wedding, dinner is at 6:00, we are doing the Mexican Theme dinner with the DJ until 8:00. Then we're keeping the DJ and open bar pool side until 11:00. We are planning to use some songs from our ipod and let him DJ the rest. We chose orange table clothes for the dinner and orange roses for the flowers. Now my questions! Did you ladies do a rehearsal? If so, when did that happen? If you added readings to your ceremony, when did you give the readings to the officiant? Did you meet the officiant before the wedding? Were you able to take off your all inclusive bracelets for the wedding and get new ones afterwards? (I don't want the bracelets in my pictures! ) Did you do welcome bags in the rooms? If so, how were they distributed? Also, were you able to bring food for the bags? I remember reading that you can't bring food into Mexico... Were you able to get a listing of the guests and what rooms they are in? It would be nice for my guests to be able to find each other I think that's all for now, thanks SO much, in advance, for any info that you can share. I'll be around a LOT between now and when we leave on Nov 12th!
  9. We are flying in our photographer, Emily Jackson and her husband Phil will be shooting ALLLLLL day so I'll have to keep the hacienda in mind! We're having a 2 hour 'theme dinner' but they said it was 2 hours max. was your 3 hours 'reception' a dinner or cocktail party or both? I'd like to have something more going on. Wedding is at 4. Dinner prolly 6ish? I don't want it to be 8:00 and out of stuff to do!
  10. Welcome! (I know you already tho hehe)
  11. Hey GBP Girls! I haven't posted in a few months but I'm Morgan, I'm getting married at GBP Tulum on Nov 15th! Eek, less than 2 months! I, too, cannot get a hold of Jazmin to save my life but my TA said she'd call her for me so hopefully that will be taken care of. I'm starting to get really excited! I'll prolly be hanging out here more often in the next few months when I start thinking of all my crazy questions! The plan so far: Marrying at the 'Gazebo' at Tulum, 4:00 PM . ~55 guests. Mexican theme dinner with DJ for 2 hours. I don't have a dinner time set up yet tho... Haven't thought about flowers or what to do after the dinner. Prolly head to the disco?? Any ideas? Thanks, ladies!
  12. Hi Everyone, my name is also Morgan and Morgan referred me to this thread because I'm also shopping for a digital SLR. I just had a scare with one of the shady websites (fotoconnection.com) and I thought I was getting a great deal on a Canon Rebel Xsi, turns out it was too good to be true. So now I'm back at square one. I still like the Xsi better than anything else I've seen but I'm open to suggestions. What do the d20 and d30 do differently? I know the body is different but that's about all I know... I've also heard that the kit lens isn't great (18-55) but I have no idea where to start, if not with the kit lens. Any recommendations? Has anyone shot with the Xsi? I know it's new and I've heard it's much better than the Xti but what do I know? Thanks in advance!
  13. Quick Photog question. I'm planning to fly in my photographer to be there all weekend. Has anyone done this? Is the resort cool with it? Thanks in advance!

So instead we decided to get married on the Friday and have the 1st choice to everything. Morgan, are you doing the private dinner? Yes, we're planning to do the poolside reception. I'm excited, even tho it will be pricey. Did anyone ever figure out how to post the pictures of the poolside reception?
