From what I gather, a lot of fellow DT brides have brought in outside photographers. Though brides who used the resort photog seem to have been really happy.   5. Welcome to the forum! I'm a little biased but I really do believe that there are some gorgeous resorts in Mexico and can't compare to Cuba. A lot of fellow brides are paying around 1200-1500 from Toronto. One thing that some brides forget is the legal paperwork involved when choosing a wedding location. Thankfully, Dreams Tulum doesn't require this and all you need is your passport and to be in Mexico 4 days before your wedding date. Something to definitely consider when selecting your resort.   6. Welcome to the forum! Steph (Sunbride) correct me if I'm wrong but you didn't even need your B.C. She just used her Passport. Just remember that you need to be in Mexico, 4 full days before your wedding date (same goes for your witnesses).   7. No they dont charge $500 for outside photographers but you will need to arrange a "guest pass" for them. I believe its around $50 though I can't remember if that changed with the 2008-2009 prices. As you can see from our reviews, the majority of DT brides have brought in outside photographers.
  8. Hi Denise, yes many brides have incorporated a sand ceremony. When the WCs email you (about a month before you wedding date) they will ask for a brief rundown of what you have planned for your ceremony, copy of the vows etc. Hope this helps, Rachel
  9. Does anyone know the turn around time for the resort videographer? We leave the day after our big day and are trying to set a date for our AHR and want to ensure we have the vid to show. I've sent an email but still awaiting a response. Thanks chicas!

  13. I know with all the planning and lil extras Janine is gonna have a fabulous wedding! We booked in May 2008 for our wedding in March 2009 and managed to find an amazing deal of $1399+$299 taxes. This is a group rate with Sunwing, so 10+ people. We booked before the travel brochures were published for our travel season, so you could most likely do the same and save a lot of cash.   14. Hi WisconsinBride! As Jen said, don't worry. Most of the brides dont start receiving faster response until about 1-1.5 months before hand.   15. Hi Ladies, I was in touch with the spa and the spa concierge. Because Jen has booked over 18 spa appointments (YIKES) they increased the discount from 15% to 20%. So for most of us, it will remain 15%. But I have confirmed, if the brides pay for their guests hair appointments (i.e. bridesmaid hair, mothers, etc) they will transfer the 15% savings to these appointments as well.   17. Ok this may be a really silly question but we have selected the Ultimate package....during our one hour cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres/our actual reception do we have to worry about guests having to go to a bar for drinks? Or is this something that the staff would do?
  18. Ok this may be a really silly question but Ame during your reception you didnt have to worry about alcoholic beverages, right? The wait staff were there for you and your guests i.e. you didnt have to worry about running to the nearest bar

  23. I didnt even see this other thread you started Steph! So we are needing a AHR after our March wedding at DT for around $100 people. But because we are already paying $15000 for our DW (paying for our siblings and two closest friends) we need it to be ummm, well "economical." Oh and did I mention that 120 people will be invited? We are thinking around May when the weather is nicer and to give adequate time for our photos to arrive (so 8 weeks after our wedding) do you think thats too long? Any thoughts/suggestions would be welcomed! Thanks ladies
