  1. So it seems like all the resorts that I am interested in are on the "luxury" end. This is really annoying because my initial DW idea was to do something simple which is still my intention but the accomodations are so high $400/per night that I'm scared to actually pick these places. Also, flights from NYC are skyrocketing. I know that FI and I should pick the place we love but we also DO want people to be able to afford to come. At this rate they will be paying $1300 and up for 4 nights. Is that rediculous? I am driving myself nuts because I have been going back and forth reading peoples reviews and I'm not really asking for an answer BUT.. How much are your guests paying for accomodations and where? Maybe I need some new options. Thanks!
  2. wow ladies thanks for the info. I can hardly keep up with all the changes at these resorts for 2009!!! Between outside vendors, how many people you can have a sit down dinner with etc.. i am going a little nuts. I just need to choose. I had no idea that this would be so hard!
  3. Congratulations! Please post when you get back!
  4. Hello Tulum Brides to be, I am also considering dreams Tulum and the only thing deterring me from this location is bad beach reviews. Everything else about it is perfect. I am going down in June to check out some places but have any of you been there and if so, is the beach really as rocky and awful as everyone says it is on tripadvisor. I'm being crazy I know- but I would love your thoughts in this. Thanks in advance!

welcome! You can do it. You sound really laid back and that's a good thing for a bride to be.
  6. Welcome! I read about that hotel on tripadvisor dot com I think it's pretty new- maybe they haven't had that many weddings there yet! It looks gorgeous. Happy planning.

Welcome! This forum is so helpful You'll see...
  8. Costa Rica is GOrgeous! WE were debating between CR and Mexico. Costa Rica is where my FI and I first vacationed together. It's a special place. Happy planning!
  9. Welcome! I'm new and also scared. This forum is great though. I think you will be surprised at the support that you receive. Good luck!
  10. I wasn't sure where to post this exactly but I was just curious for those of you who have already had your wedding. I am planning for Riviera maya area. What was your original budget for ceremony/reception and how much did you actually go over or save? If you could do it again- what would you have cut out or "saved" on? PLease be sure to include how many people you had at your wedding. I hope this isn't an offensive question. Thanks for the input!
  11. I uploaded a dew days ago and it never posted I guess. I thought maybe the image as too big but when i went to upload another the old pic was there. Can you all see it? I'm IT challenged.....
  12. Has anyone gotten married on this island? It's a ferry ride away from Cancun. Any info appreciated. Thanks!
  13. Hello Ladies, I am not looking into this place for my wedding- BUT i will be staying there On june 5th-9th when I head down to check out paradisus among others. My friend suggested it as a more quiet relaxing option away from Cancun. I will take pictures for you and post it when I return. I got a deal on Orbitz and the flights from NYC to CUN are way high right now so this place appealed to me. As far as the email she sent you- It's basically room rates for the AI option which are in USD. I am not doing the AI option when I go dowm because my friend said that isla mujeres has tons of really cute, quaint inexpensive options. sencilla=single doble=double triple=tripple room occupancy She also mentions that form April-July 5th rates are lower and after that they go up becuase of the season. I hope this helps and I will post pics when I come back for you.
  14. This may be a silly question and I haven't started looking yet but.... Are most wedding gowns always floor length? I am a tad under 5'3" and am planning a barefoot beach wedding. I will wear shoes for the reception but I don't want to look like an oompa loompa walking down the aisle. I don't ever really wear floor length skirts cause I feel they don't make me look my best. What did you all do? Thanks!
