  1. It looks great so far. I am always impressed by all the DIY stuff. good job!
  2. Hey this is a little random- but is Michelle (nenamono) back?? I am excited to hear about her wedding and see pics. I think I anticipate the Paradisus brides so much because I feel like there are fewer of us out there. Also, I think Diana's wedding is coming up soon. If you read this Happy travels Diana and have a blast! - okay I can't avoid going to work anymore. Have a great day ladies!
  3. Thanks for the link Jenny! I know that mexican wedding photos is/was associated with Claudia but I believe there are several photographers there. I don't know all that much about them sorry.
  4. also I think that hearing it read to you by someone else is almost worse. I read those parts fast i think. I agree with starchild that a disclaimer is a good idea that way nobody has to feel completely responsible for the book.
  5. Nice topic. I don't think that I will be telling people that I am trying becuase I can't handle the pressure plus they always say it happens when your not officially "trying" whatever that means. I guess something to do with stress and your body. FI and I love our life together here in NY but there definately those moments when we go visit friends and their little ones and have the kid talk. Having said that, we also acknowledge how hard it seems. I feel selfish still and just want it to be me and him. At the same time, I know that he is going to be a great daddy and can't wait to have that little one running around. Age is a factor for me too. My acupuncturist reminded me of that the other day. I didn't even ask! So I think we are leaving it up to fate. I just came off of my BCP after being on it for about 7 years we are using an alternate method. At my acupuncturist suggestion I just am trying to keep my body as "natural" as possible.
  6. That sounds like a cool idea but I guess my only thought is that I would have to sit through a lot of shaky random video stuff that guests start taping when they are drinking. Especially since it's disposable I wonder about the quality of video and sound. It sounds like a cool thing but I personally would go without if I was having a pro videographer. When we went down for a site visit recently we video taped a lot and I was so nauseous watching it cause even though we have a super top of the line camera I was moving it all over the place. Just something to think about. I think you have a better chance of getting fun guests stuff with disposable cameras.
  7. That's great Starchild. Thanks for taking care of that. So when do we wanna start discussing?
  8. I am so impressed Heidi. Wow. everything looked amazing. GReat job!
  9. I'm glad to hear all your opinions. This has been something that I have been thinking about. We were going to do legal and scrapped it for the symbolic. It ends up saving almost $1900 with the fee and bloodwork and hotel stay for the extra extra days. I struggled becuase I wondered if guests would feel weird or would I feel weird not telling. I decided that I kind of like the idea. I will probably do something like Morgan and go out for dinner and take fun pics and keep the celebration going all the way to Mexico.
  10. I like the idea that the photographer is at the destination for a few reasons: - They may know the layout of the area and some hidden places for a TTD or something like that -They have contacts in the area in case anything went wrong with either equipment/assistant/ transportation -I wouldn't have to pay the expense of flying them in but it seems like the ones based in the area that I like are mega $$. So that might even itself out actually. -They are familiar with the weather patterns and light situations for the area. These are just some thoughts. Having said that, I have still not made my final decision on a photographer- but it's mainly becuase of money. At $5700 for the session we would be going over budget, but photography is one of the most important things to us.
  11. I submitted the suggestion for the book and had not started reading it when I did. I am a member of "goodreads" which is a great website. It's a network of friends posting reviews about books. I had several people suggest the book. I guess I'm not really sure what is inappropraite about the book. It can be graphic at times though so that may be it. I still think that it's a good read but maybe we could make up some guidelines that we should follow? I'm not sure cause like I said I hadn't read the book before so I wouldn't have known too much about the content. This is the blurb my friend wrote about it on my goodreads page and it sounded appealing. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. Read in June, 2007 recommends it for: historical fiction fans A colorful introduction to the dark side of the traveling circus business in the early 20th century, with accompanying photos. Murder, romance, suspense, humor and circus animals - what else do you need?
  12. yeah broke down palace sort of ruined Thailand for me. That movie was so sad!
  13. I am using the Fantasy package but we are budgeting for 50 right now. So there was an additional 900 for the additional 30 ppl. As far as including everything in the package- i'm not really sure what you mean. It tells you what is included. For example we are planning a sit down dinner at $80pp i think or so- that is additional. I hope this helps. I understand the confusion but you will figure it out. Go to the PRC post here! in the search and you will see a ton of threads. good luck with it!

  15. ha ha. I also watch a lot of Nat Geo and have seen the show a few times. Actually, I was dumb enough to watch the locked up abroad:mexico! the night before we took the flight for our site visit. Fi was laughing at me as he sat on the computer. The reality is that the show is about people that made really dumb choices such as smuggling drugs. Prison anywhere is scary- but each one that I have watched is about 2 buddies that decided to take $30,000 and a free vacation in paradise to bring back a "package". They are all remorseful and are talking about their experience prior and during their prison time. It's more sad than scary I guess.
  16. Great review Jackie! I especially like that you mentioned the crabs. I love the ocean but all those lovely creatures in there are also my biggest fear! Congratulations and can't wait to see the pics
  17. Oh.. I'm so excited that you chose my book suggestion! I hadn't realized but luckily had started reading it anyways. So far it's interesting. I'm oddly intrigued by circus life. I know some people ordered it and stuff so when should we aim to start discussing ladies? ( not that i'm done yet)
  18. congratulations! You look gorgeous and like you were having fun.
  19. Welcome Mylee! I am also a May 2009 bride. Happy Planning!
  20. My plan was to send out STD's and then when people said that they wouldn't be coming I wou;dn't send them a formal invite- BUT for the ones who never said either way- they would still get an invite. Does that make sense?
