  4. You look gorgeous and I love your signature pic. Rayden is beyond cute!
  5. Of course your mind is racing! Wow. That's alot to think about. I hope that you find peace suring the waiting period and liek someone already said - what will be, will be.
  6. That is creepy for sure. They really look real- so she is good at what she does but I think it would frek me out. - she even made twins!
  7. It looks like you had so much fun. I love the one in the hammock and also the one of your hubby dipping you. so cute!

Yay that's what I am hoping for! The biggest thing for me was to keep an open mind. What I thought would look good and what actually did look good were 2 very different things. I tried on many different styles, and it was obvious pretty quickly what style worked and what didn't. I agree too about sticking within your price range. I didn't see any reason to try on a dress I couldn't afford. yeah I have decide not to torture myself will all the Jim hjelm dresses that I like that are out of my range. I want her to help me make my final decision. That was my original plan but I htought I might be too sad if I went alone- like I would be wishing someone was tehre with me or something. Plan on being there around 10am There's also the bridal building on B'way & 37th / 38th st.. that's not too far from RK, so you can try that one on the same day as RK.. Yeah that's in the plan depending on how we are holding up. I'm sure you know already, but there's a David's Bridal on Northern Blvd & 46th St. in Queens - Woodside. My friend had a horrid experience there with some really nasty, trashy saleswomen that worked there- so I nixed it even though I love in Queens. Going to the LI location instead. My girlfriend & I are going to Filene's Basement's 'Running of the Bride's' in DC.. it's on Fri 8/1, so we're going on a little road trip Thurs night & camping out in front (Lmao.. never done that b4!).. dresses are heavily discounted.. the one in NY was in February & they only do it once a yr, so we missed that one! Good for you. That's hardcore! Anyway, hope that helps! I am missing my sis- she's a peace corps volunteer and isn't back in the country yet- till Dec. I have been sending her links and the girl is honest so that's good. I miss her though which is part of my wanting to put this off. I guess I just selfishly wish she was here to do this together. Goodluck finding your dress! YOu ladies are the best! Thanks for the tips!
  10. I forgot about Le Souk- fun birthday place- good food and there is dancing there after 11. That could be a really great option- another plus is that they definately play electronica music and you said that was important.
  11. It's HOT in NYC today (95!) which is not cute. I am drinking a corona light with a lime as we speak. Happy friday. Flygirl- I usually drink either light beer, wine, or if you are feeling like having a "few" then white wine spritzers. More bang for your buck cause you can drink a few and they are low in calories. Mummergirl-I'm annoyed that your doc said that to you about gastric bypass! Docs can be so insensitive it pisses me off. Not to mention that you should be the one bringing up that option not him. I'm happy that I can offer any other type of support on your journey. I didn't work out today and I don't plan on it. Just my regular running around but I did well food wise so far. b: fiber one cereal/skim/blueberries L: salad with tuna (no mayo) and 1vegan dumpling from whole foods S: strawberry froz-fruit D: I am planning on a little whole wheat pasta with tukey meatballs and veggies. That should be within points.... oh and my 2 light beers. I plan on working out tomorrow morning before my first dress shopping excursion (for confidence).
  12. Erin- Such good advice on the shoe thing. I am walking barefoot which i feel will be romantic and lovely on the sand in Mexico but under the harsh lights of the dressing room I really don't want to look like an oompa loompa with no heels to elongate my leg. I am thinking of wearing a wedge for the reception so I guess I'll bring those. thanks!
  13. Yay Mummergirl! ( for having a salad when there is mac and cheese and all that jazz around) This day felt like forever and I'm hungry but I am just going to sleep. I know I hardly know you guys but I'm proud of you!
  14. You all gave wonderful advice! I was thinking everything would start looking the same after a while. That happens when I look in mags and online too. omg I totally thought it would be my friend not the attendant zipping me in. Yikes- I guess i will shave.
  15. Hi there, So I am mildly anxious about trying on a bunch of dresses. I have mixed feelings. I love to shop but I usually like doing it alone. I don't like the whole coming out and showing everyone fashion show scenario. Anyway, My best friend, my mom and I are heading over to RK bridal on Saturday. I have done a little research online and have style numbers and pics of what I have seen out there that I like. I will bring that. How does it work exactly? I just want to be prepared. They don't accept appt's so I'll just show up armed with some pics ready to go. Do you guys think that I should try to go to more than one place in a day, or where you over it after the first place? I am planning a david's bridal adventure as well but that's another day cause there is not one in NYC. (can you believe that?) any input is welcome. TIA!

I don't know how everyone else does it, but when we go out for someone's b-day we pay for our own portion and we usually all chip in for the person whose b-day it is. But since your throwing him the party I would think your guests would just expect to pay their own portion. They will def be shocked to find that you paid for it all. Places like the ones you are looking at are super expensive. I don't think anyone would expect you to foot the entire bill. I'm with Glenda on paying my own way and then for the bday person as well. That's how we usually do it. I think it's super sweet that you are hosting it and will be a nice surprise but in no way should you feel cheap if you don't do it all night. Cielo definately plays electronica. It's a fun dancing spot if that's what you want.
  17. I would love to lose about 30 lbs. For me it's not so much a number but the way I feel and I remember feeling awesome about 30 lbs ago.. I don't even have kids as any sort of excuse!
  18. Lauren- I think that if you pick a place that has dinner and a lounge area- then say that you are taking care of the dinner tab (which includes drinks) cause I am guessing that's 2-3 hours with a large group right? Then when you move into the lounge area or go to a different place for drinks/dancing then everyone's on their own. KWIM? I've never been to Megu Laybar- Son cubano wasn't what I meant but I love that place! It's super fun and maybe you should check that out too Lauren? The place that I was thinking about is small and dark and very rustic looking. Argh!! I need to remember the name. Son cubano might be a really fun option though. Check it out!
