  1. No worries about the starfish. I'm psyched to be bringing it back to the paradisus. Thanks! I have 3 months still

I hated tropic thunder. I usually love any ben stiller movie too. It was stupid. Not even funny stupid. Quote: Originally Posted by Jess I just saw Slumdog Millionaire - it was really good! Out now that is a must see: "The Wrestler"- the entire cast is stellar on demand: "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"- i loved it. I thought it was really cute and funny. FI hated it. It was my pick... he he

As far as #1- I was sort of using that as my bright accent. I am going with an all white bouquet. I am still deciding. I like the all white look. Good points mariesam!
  5. I fully intend using it again. I would actually wear any of these with jeans, heels and a cute top. I'm just "breaking it in" on the wedding day.
  6. Hi ladies, I don't know how to do a poll.. but i became obsessed with these clutches on etsy and I need some opinions. The only things i will probably throw in this is gloss/tissues/mint or gum but I am fixated on having something cute #1 this one is the only bright tropical looking one. I thought it was fun: #2 this one is simple and beaded-basic but cute #3 I love this one but wasn't sure if it was too much #4 I love this one too. I am the worst shopper if it helps- here's my dress - this is the only part with any sort of detail- and corsette back. thanks for your input!
  7. Fanny- I was wanting long tables when we weren't doing the buffet too but I don't think it makes sense because of the space layout like kelly said. We are going to be 27 or so ppl. Kelly how many guests did you have?
  8. nice! wow and it seems like you just got back from your trip. good for you!
  9. You looked beautiful. congratulations you have a ton of great shots!
  10. I only stayed at the Paradisus 2 nights and then went to Isla mujeres. Initially we were looking at 3 places, but we knew it was paradisus after teh first day. That had been our hope. They didn't pay for my stay, but I think i got some sort of discount. I can't remember what it was though- sorry. If you already booked there then maybe you could tell them that you are planning to come down for a visit and finalize things and ask if they comp or discount the stay? The worse thing that can happen is they say no.
  11. I am feeling overwhelmed today. I do things little by little and in a way I think I should just do everything all at once. It just takes me forever to commit to a decision and THEN i look on this forum and get MORE ideas and then... it's just a vicious cycle. My list is coming a long i guess. I'm just scared that it's all happening so fast. ANd people are being annoying with their RSVP's and I wnat a final count so we can be done with this OOT business. Okay I am done venting. Harty- way to go on dropping extra lbs. I'm jealous I need to go on a serious diet. I eat healthy and work out like a crazy person but the lbs don't drop. The trainer I was working with said my body fat % went down from 33 to 21. It's weird though because my clothes still fit the same. Anyway.. I think it is coming down to being super strict with food. Did you do anything special Thanks for listening May brides! xo
  12. Jen everything looks phenomenal. Your day is almost here!

Either way, I think they work as a team and one is just more in charge of your specific account. KWIM? Daniela wasn't there when I went down. Missy you rock with that email. amazing. Sandra I am also going to do my own makeup. Let u sknow how mac does. I am either going to go with Mac or Bobbi brown and see what I like.
  14. Happy Birthday. I hope all your wishes come true!
  15. yay! What a sweetie you have. I'm happy your finger is no longer naked.

THANKS:) We are getting legally married a few days before we go. It just works better for us to do it that way. Many brides get married in Mexico and don't have issues. Know that you need to be there 2 or 3 days in advance and have 2 witnesses and do blood test that is $150. Everyone says the process is pretty easy. At Paradisus the legal is $1000 extra.

I think because people will go try on etc and then buy online many bridal stores won't keep tags on. They also don't allow photos until you commit to the dress at this place. Even though it sounds crappy- the attendant and everyone there was super sweet and incredibly patient and helpful. BcBride- Hmm I don't know anything about that site personally. Those are definately Maggie dresses in the photos but how can you guarantee that you will get that dress in the box when you order it? It's a tough call becuase $350 is an amazing price but I remember reading a thread about a girl receiving a dress and it was a horrible knockoff that they were advertising as an original. She said it came from somewhere in china and was not made well. Maybe you could find that thread- really old and see where she ordered it from. I don't want to rain on teh parade- and I hope that it is reputable but I know how disappointing that can be so i guess just really check out the site and what other brides have to say. I know that many girls get dresses from bestbridalprices.com and have had good expereiences.
  18. Erica I understand from personal experience how hard this may feel. Just follow your gut and stay strong. I wish you and your family the best and am sending you a big big hug.
  19. I am a maggie bride too. here is mine on the model... which will look totally different on me. I love it and can't wait to see it again since I chose it in August. I bought from a store on LI. I didn't even think to go online after because they don't tell you who the designer is until you purchase. (sneaky) Monterey - by Maggie Sottero ps I will NOT have the matching purse and stoll...
  20. Yes! I love them so much... they will be amazing. I agree.. with the "they were on sale idea."
  21. I almost forgot what it looks like. I had to look on the maggie website because it's been so long!

For a smaller party, the terrace is plenty big enough. It just depends if you want to dance on the beach (which you could do w/o a dance floor in theory too!) I love Jewish weddings becuase of all the great dancing and interesting traditions. So fun! I think you made a good call on using the beach floor. I would worry about hitting my head too! So no floor on the beach then. Honestly we are so out of the original budget right now I don't think FI could handle it. thanks for the input ladies. ps Missy I love your sig pic.

We are trying to get her to remove this charge, since there does not appear to be a need for any "supervision." Have any of you had luck getting this fee waived for the photographers? -Thanks, Meredith I don't think she will waive the fee because I believe somewhere in some contract it states that any outside vendors either stay at the resort and pay for a room or pay the outside vendor fee. I am paying a bunch of money in fees.. carlos, delsol photog, and a marichi band through ajua weddings (which still with the fee is less than what paradisus charges and it's a 6 piece band!) So.. um yeah like a grand in outside vendor fees ** you girls that have had the dancefloor on the beach- worth it? How was dancing on the terrace for those that didn't do the beach thing? I am having like 28 ppl..
