  2. We met online too. But it might be a little bit odd comparing to a lot of you. We met via ICQ's white page where you can set some sort of search criterias. I was doing a random search in local area for some new friends to chat, and bump into him. It worked out pretty well for us. Man, it's 9 years ago! Our story still amazed many friends~

But I pretty much demanded in a nice and polite manner that we get the sound system for the ceremony for free and asked her how many meals they could credit us in exchange for us not using their photographer. Ill let you know how she responds when she finally does respond. But you are right, the drapery is not a comparable value at all. However, if you price everything on the Ultimate Package "a la carte," it comes out to well over the $2650 they charge. I would love to know about what they say about flying over photographers too! I've just been to a friend's wedding, and really like her photographer, now wonder if I can fly mine to Dreams too!

A song for the signing of the certificate (which you totally don't need) and a song for the exit. I guess my husband had our friend go over there for the ceremony but he left after the walk in songs were over and sat down. They did a good job on their own. I would just have your husband specify to them exactly what you want before the wedding. The music was really important to me too. Oh, I completely forgot about this! So Kate, you bought your own ipod docking system and play during ceremony? Do you need to tell Gaby ahead of time to make sure someone is there to help the station? I've heard many people said it would be too windy at the Gazebo and no one can hear a word you say in front of the officiant, is it true?

I cannot sell or offer any packages different from the ones your wedding coordinator has already offered you. For any information regarding the packages please do not hesitate to contact Claudia Cantillo, your wedding coordinator. Indeed, the Dreams Ultimate Wedding package includes 50 printed pictures in an album and the same pictures in a CD. For this package I shoot around 250 pictures, and if you are interested in having all the pictures taken in a CD you can do so for an extra fee. If I can be of any further assistance, please, do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Juan Navarro I hope this helps anyone who is wondering about the photographer at Dreams Cancun. I am just finding it easier to just use all the resources available through the resort. The simpler the better for me. Tina Tina, do you know how much he charges for the CD? thanks PeG

Kat, I noticed that your response differed. Can you expand further? Thanks all!! That's exactly what we'll be doing, paper work is done in New York, and sand ceremony in Cancun! You get all the ceremony details like a normal wedding ceremony, like an officiant. Kat thought you want a REAL ceremony, which you'll need to get all your paper translate, blood test, and be there 4 days ahead.

Anyone who can shed some light on their requirements would be a HUGE help. Of course, Gaby still doesn't respond to emails, so any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! Non-civil? Did you mean just symbolic, and get your paperwork and stuff done in your city? They don't need to see any documentations in order to perform the ceremony.

I never did get a reply to how much per pic after the 50 tho I think I saw it somewhere on this forum that you don't get to pick which picture to be printed. The photographer will pick the BEST 50 pictures to print and put into album... Seriously, I somehow worried.
  11. Congra~ Great review Kat! Yikes... Gaby is my WC, and your review does make me feel worry as well... I guess I'll need to keep calling her to make sure she has everything done that day?! Sorry about the video part, and I would be very pissed too if they forget to bring him in since I am in a similar situation which video is needed to show after...

  13. Thanks for all the info and pic! It's good to know Cristian is gone and you like the lady who did your make up and hair. I need to put that down on my notes!
  14. I did a lot of research for myself, but end up not taking it here at NYC. However, I do like this guy's style a lot, check him out: tony yang photography
  15. Congra~ Can't wait to see your review and pictures! Sorry, but I missed if you are using the resort's photographer, or you hired someone else??

The quote I got from my TA is like $320 per night, group rate (9 or 10 rooms more) in August 2009. However, I only have approximate 20 people. Hope that gives you some idea about budgeting! p.s. July and August are pretty much about the same price range as far as I saw.

I have an issue at the moment. We would like to use our own IPOD and docking station for back ground music during dinner ( which alot of you have said this is no problem ) and then we are hiring Dreams equipment for 3 hours which I want to use after dinner for dancing. Gaby read the email as I want a londer reception and will have to pay more for longer use of Dreams equipment and drinks service Surly we get drinks service with the meal which is included in the package and then after that we can all fetch our own drinks from the lobby bar as we are partying on the terrace ?? I do not want to pay extra for drinks service I find this a total waste of money. Does anyone have any thoughts on this ? I am feeling quite conserned : - ( ( sorry for the long post ) ME!!!!!! My questions were usually very simple. Like, I asked if I need to pay extra for the cake design I wanted, which is plain white with little dots or ribbon instead of having flowers that they gave as sample. She sent me back a list of VIP cake price instead of answering my question. She skips my questions here and there, and I need to keep emailing her with those she didn't answer. Although it takes more time to reply, I appreciate her patient. Indeed, she's better in email than Claudia or Daneilla (I kind of worked with both).
