We are haveing an AHR at my FH's Uncle's place. We are getting married in January, but waiting until June to have our AHR so hopefully the weather will be nicer. We are renting a tent or two, buying a keg or two, borrowing some BBQ's from family and friends, asking our Mothers and close friends to prepair some salads and deserts. We will play some texas horseshoes, volleyball, boca and hang out in the pool during the day and at night we will start the music, get a big bonfire going and hopfully have the hot tub ready. It will be very casual, but a lot of fun... I can't wait.

Wow... that's a little scary. Without a contract I don't think there is anything we can do about price increases. I'm going to try and get a signed contract from EdenH confirming my date, judge and price.

We are doing a legal ceremony and unfortunately this is the only date and time available the entire week. I like the light lunch followed by hanging out by the pool, I'm just worried about what our guests will think. But I guess the only people that matter on our wedding day is my FH and myself. I still like the idea of doing a group excursion and would appreciate the name of the company, thanks Twinkletoes.

I was a little confused by the 3 day rule. I was told and it is on the website for Dreams, that you have to be in the country for a minimum of 3 days before your wedding- and that it was a legal issue. I called the WeDo site number, to make sure that my travel day would count, and they told me that it is not a legal issue, it is something that the hotels do? Does anyone know anything about this? I'm gald you posted this, as I was a little confused as well. Our WC at the resort told us this extact thing. We arrive late on a Saturday and are booked the get married on a Tuesday. My only concern is the paper work, we only have the Monday to get this done. I talked to my fience and we agree... if there are any issues and we don't get legally married in DR, we will just get married legally here at the court house.

If I were your little sister I would buy a dress as back up. Find out the stores return police, keep the tags on the dress and return it if the seamstress does come through with the dress. I'm a bit of an amateur seamstress and I would never start a dress this late. I hope everything works out for your sister, I know how important prom is... every girl wants the perfect dress... just like when you get married.

I just found out that the only time available for us to get married is 11:00AM. So after the ceremony, toasts and pictures our guests are going to have about 4 to 5 hours before dinner. We are on a budget so don't know if an excursion is feasible. We were planning on getting married then do the toasts and pictures, followed by the dinner and a party on the beach. We are going to EdenH Real Arena in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Anyone have any suggestions? A cheap excursion, a different schedule... anything?

My fience was actually able to get a hold of her by phone last week and was able to get answers to some of my questions. While I'm waiting for the reply, I'm going to start addressing my envelops... I'm so excited.

Have any of the other EdenH brides had a hard time getting a hold of the WC? I'm trying to book the wedding date and time for a week now and haven't heard anything back yet. What has your experience been? Should I be nervous about the cerimony? It's not until January 2009 so plenty of time, but I want to make sure I get the date and time that I want.

I love your pictures; you are such a beautiful bride. I LOVE the pic of the guys and the parasols! I have to get my guys to do that... it might be a struggle, but what a fun pic! I was thinking of Paradisus and now I'm even more interested.

To start, let me say that it was perfect! On the 27th of December Marty took me to a small Cabin in a town about an hour and a half away from home. I had no idea where he was taking me, just that we were spending one night away to get over the crazyness of Christmas. The cabin had two fireplaces and a hot tub. So we turned on the fireplaces and jumped into the hot tub with a bottle of wine. As we got out of the hot tub I mentioned to Marty that I was supprised that a nice cabin like this would not have robes for guests to wear. After the hot tub we enjoyed a light dinner and some more wine. We settled down in front of the fireplace and started talking about buying a house and how my seach to find a new home for my two cats was going (Marty is very alergic to the cats, so I have agreed to find them new homes). Of course I was feeling "good" (from the wine) and talking about getting rid of my cats gets me sad so I started crying. Marty hates to see me cry so he told me that he had another Christmas present for me. He took out a giant box from the closet and handed it to me with a big goofy smile on his face (I don't know how I didn't notice him bringing it in the cabin, hehe). I opened the box to find a big white fluffy robe, so I tore it out of the box and wrapped myself in the beautiful rode (I needed and wanted one for a long time). I looked over at Marty to give him a big hug, but he looked almost paniced. He said that something fell out of the pocket and pointed to the floor. I picked it up and knew imediately what it was. I started crying as I opened this second smaller box and when I finally opened it he asked, "will you marry me?" While crying my tears of joy I said yes, but Marty couldn't understand. Looking a little confused Marty asked me again, " will you be my wife?" I then started laughing through my tears and said, "yes silly, of course." I then spent the next two hours on the phone calling my parents, his parents, my brother, his brother and a bunch of friends. Poor Marty sat alone in the hot tub waiting for me. It was perfect!

I got engaged back in December and have spent the last 4 months looking for a travel agent. We FINALLY found one this weekend and expect to have a date and location by the end of next week.
