  1. Thanks! I'll go check the thread now!
  2. Thanks for the info! I'm having second thoughts now...do you have any info on the other restaurants? I'm having dinner @ Mammee Bay for the wedding. Maybe I'm a picky eater..but i hate seafood!
  3. I've done a search of ROR Restaurants but was wondering if any recent brides returning from ROR could give me an idea as to what Sir Richard is like. I'm attempting to make some decisions on a Rehearsal Dinner location. Thanks!
  4. Hiya! I personally think that it's totally up to you. Most traditional wedding I believe the speeches are preformed just before dinner arrives or just after. It's usually done before the first dance etc. That being said...do it when you want to! I'm not having guests at my wedding (only 6 of us in wedding party) and we will be doing very small speeches during dinner - if any at all. If you find it to be a little busy at dinner or a bit noisy (dinner is semi-private) do it when you get to the disco. At the same time you only get so much time at the disco...so... I don't know..just throwing thoughts out there lol
  5. Congrats! Have a great time & enjoy! Can't wait for your pics!!!
  6. WOOHOO! I remember how excited I was too! I have 2 months to go and I'm ready...now would be nice ;-)
  7. Thinking of you! Please update when you can!
  8. If I am correct, you can have your wedding dinner at the Mammee Bay without restrictions to guests who are not staying in a Jr. Suite. If you wish to go to Mammee Bay any other time you must be in a Jr. Suite. I was also told that you could make arrangements through Chandlyn if you would like to have a rehearsal dinner there...hopefully someone can answer as to whether or not that means everyone can go regardless as to what type of room you are staying in. My sister is staying in a regular room and the remaining guests are booked into Jr. Suites..I'll be emailing Chandlyn to double check for the rehearsal dinner for that reason.
  9. This is what I am at so far: $4500.00 7 days/night ROR - Jr. Suite $2800.00 Rings(had to have mine custom made) $ 1000.00 Royal Wedding Package (so far I only have 4 rooms booked...hopefully someone else will come) $ 800.00 Photography - Michael $ 700.00 My Dress/Shoes $ 500.00 MOH/BM Dresses/Shoes $ 200.00 Groom Attire $ 200.00 Invitations $ 160.00 Flowers $ 150.00 BM/GM Attire $ 75.00 Wedding Favours $ 100.00 Documentation Certification $11185.00 TOTAL So far...We are not having a reception because there are only 6 of us going. I'm sure there will be more expenses but it's early and my brain isn't working lol
  10. Hi Denise I found the thread with the ROR Cakes. You can view post #5 from myself that has a Cake Doc. showing the cake upgrades and prices. You will find alot of info in that thread about the cakes with some pics. ROR Cake Thread
  11. I had my flowers made and shipped to me by a lovely lady in Georgia. I have a few pics and I can give you her email addy/website if interested!

  13. I was thinking the same thing the other day. I have an Ipod and Dock I wanted to use for the ceremony music and after testing it out it appears as if will loud enough. As far as a ceremony, are you not wanting to hire the DJ? Bose speakers would work though
  14. I only have 4 other guests coming (other than wedding party) so I won't be using a microphone...I'm sure they'll be able to hear I plan on bringing my Ipod with dock and all my songs on a cd for back up. Chandlyn will have a cd player available for you to use for music.

So i am a little stressed. I'm trying to keep my spirts up... but it seems like one thing after another is not working out. I guess its Jamaica.. .no problem mon. Kelly Kelly, You need a girls night out! Why no dress? Can't find anything you like? I would push a bit more to find a reception location. Have you called Chandlyn at all! You need a big hug & a fine bottle of wine!
  16. One other thing...look for Riu Wedding Reviews on this site in the search engine. What exactly are you looking for?
  17. NOW lol I started about 8 months before my wedding and with only 3 months to go I am DONE! I have small things now organizing the actual wedding but I can't really do that until closer to. The sooner the better! I just wouldn't buy anything just yet or buy when you notice something on sale. You won't know how many people are coming etc. But you can definetly start planning things now
  18. I am having a cheap wedding as well. PM me if you want to chat!
  19. Sorry I didn't respond last night..got a call that my wedding band was done (which it really wasn't) and scurried off to the store. If you go through the Riu website Riu Hotels & Resorts and attempt to "book" a package it will give you some prices there as well. Example: Steel Drum Band $250 (approx.) I know there was a thread about pricing but I can't remember which one it was. You can post here and ask as well and I'm sure the ladies will be willing to help! I'll post again when I am at home with a list of what I have!
  20. There is a tour company called Lee's Tours. Here is an email addy for you: [email protected] [email protected] They can provide you with info! They are quick to reply and accomodating

I have a 11am ceremony time so I am in the midst of considering finger foods for after the ceremony and possibly an afternoon cruise w/finger foods before dinner. I had my flowers made for me (silk) therefore I do not need the flowers the resort offers (upgrades are expensive) and I'm having a simple ceremony with recorded music - no steel drum band. For me the reason I initially chose the Royal Package was for the flowers, room upgrade and photography. I am now reconsidering my package selection because I have my own flowers, don't need the room upgrade (already booked the jr. suite) and the photography is still up in the air. I have info at home my computer. I can send you that as well as Spa info. Let me know if the info I provided helps

  23. Thanks! That's great news then! I'm more comfortable paying for the minister fees etc. instead of paying the $1,000 plus when I don't need it! Now I just have to find 1 more couple to go lol
