We've been together over 7 years, living together for 3 years... Literally just got engaged - in fact the ring is getting set right now LOL! Planning for a late 2010 wedding - probably November. Great thread idea =)

Thanks so much for your tips! I'm definitely going to get the ball rolling ASAP on confirming date availability. I think you're right though, I could probably be flexible on the day of the week, I'm sure my guests would at least make a long weekend out of it, so Friday or Sunday would be fine. On a side note - you guys probably already know this, but if you or your guests are looking to make early travel reservations for 2010, Orbitz is having a 35% off sale for Dreams for travel from 1/1/10 - 12/31/10. It looks like you just have to book 90 days in advance. I was pricing packages from Cleveland (flight + hotel), and it was coming out to about $600 pp for 3 nights, which seems pretty good to me, it's a lot less than Expedia. You can only book up to the end of August right now though. Just thought I would share! Thanks again for your help =) I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions if i do end up going with Dreams!

Hi Ladies!! I've been following this thread for a while now, debating on whether to change my wedding location... I was planning to have my wedding in California, because I am moving there in a couple months, and doing so would allow a lot more of my family to come... However, all the venues in the OC that I've been looking at are ridiculously expensive, and I don't think it's what I really want anyways - I would be doing it purely for my guests. My fiance and I LOVE Mexico, we go there all the time, and I really think I would regret getting married anywhere else!! Anyways, Dreams Cancun seems like such a gorgeous site, I love that gazebo, and the water on 3 sides. Also, I love the idea that Cancun is an easy/cheap flight from the US. Soo I think it is currently my top choice! My question for you ladies is - how far in advance did you book your date? I am pretty flexible in the Oct-Dec 2010 timeframe, I just want to do a Saturday around 4-5 PM, which of course is probably the most desired time. So I'm just curious how much time I have to make this decision... I'll probably contact Claudia soon to get her feedback on some actual dates, but I was just wondering what you ladies thought first, and was interested to see how far in advance other brides booked their dates.
