We are doing a sand ceremony, i found a script online and emailed it to my WC, she said there are no problems with the JOP reading it, though she did try to persuade me to have one of our friends read it. As an aside, I might end up killing my MOH, but I think I'll post a whole new blog about that. Glad to hear they are doing the sand ceremony speech for you! I want to do the same.

Elizabeth usually doesn't respond very quickly. What did everyone do for thier save the dates? I have elizabeth too, and she is slow to respond...I think im giving up on the flower dealio and just get there and hope for the best.
  3. Hi, I was also considering this place, because the pictures look gorgeous and I like the layout of the sky terrace. However, I decided against it because I read reviews on trip advisor that you can't acess the beach, i don't know if this is true as other people said they could...but aside from that, from what I remember, there weren't very good places for the reception...god I don't remember how, but what i do remember is that all weddings are done in the sky terrace, so if i wanted a reception there in the sky terrace would be difficult to coordinate... My main concern was the beach in the background of ceremony pictures and the possible lack of access to the beach. The good thing about the beach palace is that it is part of the palace chain which means that they have offices in FL and they are very good about coordinating stuff over e-mail. Not only that you can also go to the other resorts in cancun because they are sister resorts..which is cool. So, I decided on the Moon palace because it gave me more options for the wedding then the beach palace.. if i had to choose just for a vacation, i would choose the beach palace cuz it looks "cool" and "modern," Anyway, the reason you probably have not seen pictures of weddings there is because this is a new resort. Hope this helps you. Good luck with planning!

The truth is that yesterday I started to freak out because my first pick for photographer became unavailable because so much time lagged before I got my contract, and I didn't want to book without a confirmed date. Now, every photographer I have contacted was already booked or too expensive for me to book. I had said that the photos were the most important thing for me..I want artsy photos etc. Anyway, this latest issue has been frustrating me along with other stuff. In the end I know all of this is going to be ok, and I really enjoy planning the wedding details despite the set-backs, i guess men just don't enjoy them as much and get stressed out.

I think we were talking about this some time ago - that is why I ended up getting the free package and buying everything that I want - cake, flowers, decos, etc. It just made it easier, not better on price, but easier to get what I wanted without them telling me "this is what is included". I hope that made sense ) I am TOTALLY SCREWD!!!!!!!!!!! I want different flowers, different cakes... what can I do since i signed the contract for the deluxe package?

  9. Welcome Jennifer! please post whatever information you have as it may be useful to new MP brides on the board

You can ask the minister to say whatever you want if it is symbolic right?
  12. Hey Dez, Thank you for your help! From another moon palace bride that got married on the beach, a simple bamboo with flowers on the beach was quoted 400-800 just for the set up of that arch. I have also heard they charge 10 per person for the beach set up...that is why I'm concerned about the budget, cuz I am asking for tents, seat covers, flowers etc... I can't wait to hear how much they are going to charge me so I can start cutting other things... As far as the linens, I am pretty sure you can buy them for cheaper... if you are doing an aqua wedding, you may also just want to do blue napkins instead like Pookie is doing? (don't know if that is cheaper lol), or you can just do aqua accents on the table...

On the other hand, I wish it was closer, so I could just pack and get it over with. Hey Pookie, What I did yesterday was to make drawings of the set ups, so i made a drawing of the table setting (chair decoration, flowers, place settings, favors, candles, etc), the ceremony (flowers, tent, chairs, parasols), etc to put everything in perspective, and then noticed I had missed stuff! so maybe this might help you.

Pookie, My WC in florida has not even sent me the room link yet.. and told me these decorating things get fixed out 90 days before the wedding, but I want to see what is in my budget...and that is why I am asking now. In any case, if you run out of stuff to ask for your wedding, please please ask about my beach set up question and I would appreciate it a ton!!!!
  17. Posting again, hope this works Beach setup at Moon palace here: This is the set-up I would like at the MP, and would like a quote, if anyone can ask their WC (i dont' have one yet) that would be great thanks!

Don't really know if they would even have orchids as "extras." I doubt they would have blue accent flowers either, anyone know?

I might just end up paying for extras, but wondering about everyone else. And welcome to all the new girls, its nice having lots of people and opinions. Pookie, this flower issue has been stressing me out. I went online on e-bay and got a quote from this lady, I am basically getting all my flowers for 149 dollars (if i purchase them), is really cool because she has some tourquoise roses, which look gorgeous with white ribbon. She can also do your own, not to mention that she will make your own per your specifications and put an ad just for you to see and purchase, she e-mails you pretty fast too. I don't know if i will purchase it as my fiance wants real flowers and so do I but i'm afraid of getting there and them not having blue flowers to accent my white flowers, for my tiffany blue style wedding. Anyway, 149 is not a lot, so if you get there and they don't have the flowers you want, you can use the silk flowers, or you can get the extra...so really if you buy the silk flowers, you would only be giving yourself more options. I think this is the route I am going to take, but I welcome pictures of the free flowers if you have them... so here's the ebay flower lady i talked about 21pc Bridal ROUND bouquet wedding flowers BLUE / white - eBay (item 180199029377 end time Jul-20-08 22:37:44 PDT) I look forward to more ideas on this flower deal

I would love any advice you may have I really like the set-up for Dreams Cancun A LOT, but my decision was based on the fact that the coordinators were not really responsive and all based out of Mexico. The Moon Palace has English speaking people in florida you can contact and they have 1-800 number etc, so coordinating your wedding to be just like you want is much easier. Second, we have a big size coming for our wedding and with Moon Palace, you get freebies like cocktail hours, one private functions or unlimited functions for free (lowers our cost substantially) each freebe depends on how many rooms you book, in addition, with your contract your guests get free excursions to the mayan ruins etc (if they book for a minimum of 3 nights). The one problem that some people have with the MP is that no outside vendors are allowed, however, you can get around it, for example you can get the photographer a day pass and they can come and take pictures. Second, you tell your WC what kind of cake, flowers, or even beach set ups you want, and THEY look for the vendor and provide you a price. So, even though they don;'t allow outside vendors, they have their own vendors that they work with and help you out. So, it basically turned out best for me because I don't have to go around searching for vendors, I can just give them a picture of the cake or set up and they can just charge me. The Moon palace rooms were also a little less expensive for the guests, which is also very good. The grounds are gorgeous, you should check out trip advisor pictures to see it. ALSO, if you book block rooms, they give you a link you can provide your guests so that they can book their own rooms at the room block price, which is very convenient. In all, although I like the set up for dreams in cancun better (the gazebo on the cliff), the MP has many types of azebo, and you can have your wc work on a beach set up that you have always dreamed of, so i ended up with more options. Lastly, I really like the horse carriage, I know this is not for all,but for me, I always wanted a "princess type" wedding.. and the surprise entrance... Hope this helps
