  1. I was in PV in mid August (1 month ago) to plan my end of Oct wedding and it was hot, hot, hot, humid, humid, humid and it poured for days.
  2. I stayed at Hacienda San Angel and if they are recommending the trio that plays there for their cocktain hour, it is totally worth it. They were wonderful- can do popular songs that all us American girls know, local love songs, more upbeat local tunes too. If your guest list is 20, then I would recommend skipping the mariachi period. Mariachi bands are usually 10-12 people, and so that might be a bit overwhelming considering that equals have your guest list. You can just have the trio start mellow and then go more lively, as that is what mariachi is anyway. Also, I'd stick with an iPod too because hiring a DJ for 20 might be much too- consider how many people will actually dance and do the math from there. Hope this helps.
  3. Were you able to get El Arrayan to cater your wedding? Since you've been there, can you recommend the restaurant for a rehearsal dinner of 40-50 people?
  4. Wow- are you available for October 25, 2008? You know the place already. Please contact me at [email protected] directly so we can talk.
  5. Mishja Design: Here is a link to learn about the misters I am referring to: Patio Misters: What to Know about Patio Misting | Cool-Off Misters come in all shapes and forms- I've seen them at restaurants, hotel pool areas, and there are some cheaper, smaller scale ones that I've seen at people's homes. They release a cool and sheer water mist to help bring down the overall temperature and provide comfort for the outdoors. I'm looking into other alternatives and will speak to my wedding planner (the woman who owns Villa Mia) about other options. Like I said, the best weddings I have ever been to are those wherein the bride and groom really took care of their guests comforts and needs and so I am most concerned about a great experience for my guests. What "fans" are you referring to and are there places in PV to rent them from? Are they "pretty" or will they clash with a formal wedding? I'm glad you're familiar with the Villa Mia as no one on this message board seems to have mentioned it. What do you know about it, esp. with reference to weddings? Are you a wedding planner? I went to your website but unfortunately, my Spanish is not good enough to understand it fully.
  6. How does this apply to late October? My wedding is scheduled for October 25, 2008 at a private villa called the Villa Mia. Are there other things you would recommend to keep guests cool? Our ceremony and reception will both be outside. Are the chances for rain that high then? And the weather that hot? Do you know of a place where you can rent "misters." My biggest concern is that my guests are comfortable.
  7. I hope you have a great trip! I am scheduled to get married at the Villa Mia on 10/25/2008 and am emailing with Priscilla of Prisar Vallarta as well. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Priscilla and Prisar.
  8. Check out this link to learn more about other restaurants: Puerto Vallarta - Restaurant Week Some of PV's best restaurants offer prix fixe meals at bargain prices, and lots of the restaurants are listed here.
  9. I've been looking into this as well, not just to cater my wedding, but also for the rehearsal dinner. I think it is restaurant week in Puerto Vallarta either this week or it just happened. Basically, a bunch of great restaurants offer prix-fix meals for great prices. If you google this, you'll get the links.
  10. A friend of mine is going to do my makeup as she does makeup here in L.A. For hair, I'm going to have my hairdresser here work with me on a style and videotape him doing it with very specific instructions for anyone in PV to follow.
