  1. Welcome, from another Toronto girl - there's quite a few of us, beleive it or not! This site was a godsend to me while planning my wedding, and I'm sure you'll find tons of useful stuff and advice. Congrats!
  2. Your dress is beautiful! Your date is coming up soon - you must be so excited!
  3. That is soo neat! And what a great opportunity to make new friends! Have fun!
  4. Splitting up your decorations and OOT bag stuff among your guests is the easiest (and cheapest) way to get everything there. Going over the weight limit on the flight is very, very expensive, so you may as well take advantage of your guest's extra weight allowance that they may not be using.
  5. Love it! How about: "thanks for being my support, now here's a little support in return?" Yeah, super cheesy!!
  6. You have a right to vent! I would too under the circumstances. Hopefully you will get your invites soon. Re the BD pictures, I've noticed that some brides are saving $ by coordinating with other brides who live in their area to do joint (or multiple) sessions with a photographer in exchange for a better deal. Why not ask if anyone in your area wants to share a photog for BD shots and then ask the photogs who's willing to provide a group rate? Just a thought....
  7. Welcome Julie! This is the place to be for all your wedding planning inspiration. The ideas and people are amazing.
  8. Awww, what a nice story! You're a good writer too! You put us right there with you. P.S. the ring is gorgeous - very blingy!
  9. Congratulations! Everything looked great and you were a very beautiful bride.

She also never refunded our deposit of $150, which was to hold the date until we booked her travel costs. I didn't even realize we were supposed to get it back until I looked at the contract again after the wedding. Once I contacted her about it, I never heard from her again. I have to agree with you and found there were more than a few key shots missing from ours. Now, when I compare my pics to some of the other couples on here, I realise just how amateurish mine are. She was inexpensive, and it shows in the quality, substance and style of her shots. I can't say that even one was original, and I hardly have any of just my husband and I and of those few, I can truly say none wowed me. NONE. Hiring her was the biggest planning mistake I made. As for the $150 refundable deposit -- I missed out on that too! GEESH!!!!!
  11. You did a great job on them. Your guests will be very appreciative!
  12. Something else to consider regarding the mesh bag ... sand and water can get IN.
  13. I too know people who have been on this diet - they lost tons of weight, and of course, gained it all back (and more). Anybody will lose weight when you're only eating 600-900 calories a day. And the vitamin shots have been linked to gall bladder and liver disease. Eating well and exercising are the only way to lose weight and keep if off without compromising your health. There are those who believe this program is an expensive scam - after seeing how it's "helped" some friends, I don't doubt that belief at all. I'd be curious to hear if anyone has had long-term success with it, without any health issues during or after the program.
  14. The detailing on that dress is gorgeous! Someone is sure to snap it up quickly!
  15. As scary as it seems right now Jenna, this is a big red flag. Getting married won't magically make things better, and if anything, the extra pressure could really make things worse. There's no crime in post-poning the wedding until you're both ready -- people do it all the time! Continue with the counselling and see where that leads you. It's the best thing for both of you right now. Good luck and please let us know how you're doing.
  16. You've covered all the bases! Good job! Doesn't it feel great to sratch one more task off the To Do list?
  17. They are so creative and original! You're very talented! I love the fonts you used. Can you tell us what they're called?
