I'm back and married!!
kevsgirl replied to hollisandsteph's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Congratulations! It's so great that you describe yourself as being so relaxed. I hope I'm the same way! -
This is a tough, but good one (I just got bad news about a good friend this morning): I'm happy today because I bought the little bush I've been wanting yesterday. It's outside in the rain today, but it's so cute and it's going in the front tomorrow!

Phew! We're going to use in laws and my sister and not sure about the 4th. We need 4 and all witnesses have to be there with us on the Monday (we get married on Friday) with their documents... not sure why, but that's what our WC wants.
-
Oh crap! That could be a problem for us... ok 3rd b2b waiting for help from more experienced forum friends

Thank you so much for telling me that you had a great experience with her! I've read some great reviews already, but it's so nice to hear recent experiences too I'm really happy with how quickly she has responded and guided us through the booking process. That's what I really needed/wanted. But I also (obviously) really like her style. AND it's nice to hear that she's a fun person - that makes a big difference! Phew again! SO happy!

Oh man am I ever hoping they're right LOL! I half expect them to mess up the numbers of our order... Anyway, hoping for the best. I'm going to try to incorporate them into the wedding details (frangipanis), but unfortunately I won't be having a bouquet with them in it... I'm only given a few options of flower types for the flowers, which is a little weird, but probably par for the course getting married somewhere small. I could take things into my own hands, but really do want to use the awesome coordinator for most things! Since my mother and sister are both in Australia, and there are TONS of frangipani things there, I may see if they can find anything great down there. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THEM IN THE MAIL!!! It makes it really official, you know?

Phew! After multiple emails back and forth with proofs being weird and them not correcting corrections i'd sent... they are finally done! Here they are! I hope that we'll be getting them in the next 2 weeks. They're coming from Australia And what they will look like with our names on them Frangipanis are one of my favorite flowers! The trouble (with the proofs) was worth it to me, because I really like these invitations, but seriously, I could not believe how long it took them to get the invitations right. (And I'm not just being bitchy - they had a completely different date on the RSVPs several times in a row...) LOL! Andrea

Shay: All this to say that I think that the one you posted is actually really really beautiful... and I think if I were having a more formal wedding I'd totally go that direction. Thanks! Britt: I think that's why I am SO in love with this dress!!! It's the perfect contrast of elegant and relaxed. It's so funny. Very much like the way I usually feel and want to dress. LOL! For example, I can actually get in and out of this dress in seconds! It's super easy to put on. It's just a quick zipper up the back. BUT it's absolutely gorgeous. OK I have to stop! I can talk about this dress on and on. Someone - hit me!!! It must be the one.

Hey - thanks for this suggestion. I actually had totally thought of having BM dresses that mimicked the lace detail. I was just going to post the pic of the one I'd looked at, but I think I've deleted it from my computer. I think overall right now I'm leaning much more towards a simpler, more modern dress cut. Not cotton, but a thick, cottony material that is sharp and more J-crew-ish. You know what I mean? I went back on the J Crew site the other day and the dresses I'd chosen were gone. Not a big deal, because my mother is going to probably sew them. And fortunately I've saved them to my work computer. So hopefully come Monday I can post them and get some more opinions on them I loooove the wedding dress though I definitely want the feeling of the day to be 'beach chic', but not overly formal. I think my sisters are probably assuming it'll be quite formal, so I'm going to have to make sure that they know it's not. On that note, I think I'll have to start posting on shoes! I'm seroiusly not sure what kind of shoes will work for the dress. I've gone nuts and recently bought a bunch of shoes online.

Time of day for ceremony
kevsgirl replied to rubyringo's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
We've booked ours for 3:30, cocktail hour from 4-5 and then dinner's at 7. I asked the WC when the sun sets on our day and she says shortly after 5pm, so hopefully we'll have time for photos in light and then as the sun sets. I got worried though after reading all these horror stories of judges not turning up in time, being like an hour late or never showing, so I also wanted to make sure that even if the wedding starts a little late we won't be in the dark. -
All of Morgan's wedding stuff
kevsgirl replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Wow! All the stuff that you created is absolutely amazing. As a still new member, I am blown away! Also excited though, because for me DIY stuff is so much fun. And it seems like you had a great time doing all this -
Has anyone ever ordered from dollaritem.com ? There are some things I'd like to order, but it's not clear how they charge for shipping. It seems as though you have to pay in advance and they charge you after... Also, it seems as though you need to have a business to order. Is this true?

That would be soooo bad - if somethign happens to Derek while Meredith is waiting for him. FI was thinking the same thing. Oh now I'm going to be worried about that all summer! LOL! I was VERY surprised that they kept up with the suggestions of Callie and Erika getting together and that they actually kind of did... I almost expected Erika to push her away! Weird.Same with the chief. I half expected his wife to have a boyfriend in her house behind her... glad that didn't happen! And I felt so bad for Izzie when Alex was such a dick to her. SO rude!
