OMG! I want to throttle the people at this organization!!! I have been waiting since I gave the ok on the proof for these invitations on May 22 for them to arrive in the mail. Finally I email to ask the status of the order and THEY JUST SENT THEM YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I am beyond pissed. And it was the bitchiness of the reply that made me go over the edge. She's like "as per our... it states that we have 14 business days before sending them". Whatever!!!!! Ok, so they're right. I checked the website. They advertise that they send them 3 days after, but that's only if you pay the extra $20 odd on top of thealready steep mailing charges. So now I have to wait another 14 business days. I'm so annoye d

Not sure if anyone has seen this site. It's got a wide variety of items, catering to very different tastes. Very fun! Oh and there are a lot of skull items... just in case anyone is partial to that! Here's a sample of the items you can find on this site: A skull parasol (also comes in white): Bride and Groom Pimp Cups: Skull flask: Or a Swarovski suede flask for the girls: Skull ties of all colours for groomsmen...: Custom Swarovski crystal compacts: They also have some really posh-looking items... some very pricey, like this black ostrich feather clutch: Some cheap, like these fun pink feather fans for $5: And they have a ton of really cute totes too!

The ferret thread formerly known as "Bringing food into cabo" lol

Ok, so I know this is probably getting a little old, but it's still new to me, because I just read through this thread yesterday. So imagine my suprise when I sit down this afternoon to go through the paper and ads and find that a Spring Ferret Frolic occurred just last week in Ottawa... ignore the crappy cropping...: I guess this pic turned out a bit small. What the caption says is: "Ozzy the ferret spent part of last weekend looking for buried treasure in McNabb Park in Centretown as part of the Spring Ferret Frolic." How cute is that? I love his little pirate hat. -
I'm a bit annoyed. I figured that the cost would be cheaper for us to do the symbolic ceremony too (and it will in terms of not doing the translations), but our hotel has 1) Legal with Judge 2) Symbolic with minister/officiant 3) Symbolic with your own supplied officiant (or a friend or relative). Only #3 saves us $400 USD. #1 and 2 are the same price. I thought bloodwork would cost about $200, so I'm surprised there isn't a small dent in cost. NOw I just have to figure out if I'm ok with FI's brother doing the ceremony for us or if I want to keep spending the $400 for some minister to perform the symbolic ceremony for us...

Wow! Looks like it was a very relaxing and fun babymoon. I could use a vacation just like that Welcome back!

We definitely had issues... we were booked for Dec 19 and everyone was either a) happy that school would be done after exams by then or pissed that it was close to Christmas, but not close enough. Then we changed it to Dec 12 because FI's mom couldn't get the week before Christmas off and some people won't be able to come (who are in school), but my mom was psyched, because flights leaving before Dec 10 were way cheaper from Australia. No matter what you do, some people will find a reason to complain and try to bend your date. We had some people wanting January, some wanting the summer in Ottawa, etc. You have to do what's right for YOU and FI. Screw everyone else. Seriously. It's such a headache!

I can't believe we're already halfway through June! Have a great time, Angela. I can't wait to hear all about it!!!

We've chosen Playa del Carmen and a small resort that is 1/2 inclusive because it's close to the town and it's a small town. Ask yourselves what kind of a feel you want to go for: big all-inclusive? remote location? convenience of a large town? Once you've figured out those things, it'll be easier to decide on a location and then a resort/hotel. Good luck!

I know that there have been a few posts on this topic, but what I'm wondering is a little different: are there organizations down in Mexico, like Four Seasons here, that are groups of wedding officiants (non-denominational) that offer their services? I'm suddenly looking back into doing a symbolic ceremony after all and getting married beforehand. Our WC sent us the script of the minister they would provide and I really don't like it. I thought it would be nice if we could pick our own officiant. But I can't for the life of me find any companies down there that seem to provide just this service. All of them are either full WC companies or the like. The only name I found from searching BDW is Petra Maurus. She does sound great, but $400 is a little steep. And I like selection

But every once in a while, he lapses, like we all do, and gets into the candy and the snacks and definitely goes over his points allowance. Or dreams of yummy snacks that he isn't supposed to have... If he can't go with you to Mexico, he's hopeful that his buff bod will get him into one of those ferret shows, so he can maybe bring back a medal for you -

Well, we're all rooting for Nibbletts to be able to make the trip to Mexico with you, Morgan. You should know that he's been being very good about staying healthy and getting fit. He wants to look extra-buff for the wedding. He's drinking lots of water Doing yoga daily.. And definitely getting some beauty rest... -
BUMP WATCH! All the girls in Hollywood are doing it, can't I get paid for showing off my bump?

I think I've gotten over the idea of it not being special enough (see below), but my sister is coming on purpose a few days early so she can be there to be my witness. So that makes me feel guilty and I just don't know how everyone would feel if they knew that we were already married. THey shouldn't care, but people are weird. I really am excited to have two weddings- one day that we focus totally on each other & one day that we celebrate with family and friends. I think in a way I went the opposite way - I was very stubborn with FI about saying there was no way that we could do this because it would take away from the 'magic' of the day. Now I'm thinking it really can't. The two days are so completely different, but both are special in and of themselves in different ways. I want to take lines from it & put them in our photobook next to the pictures. That's the other huge piece of this for me - having the legal ceremony in Mexico means it'll be in Spanish and I don't like the ceremony text. It makes it less personal for us, even though we will get to say a few words for our vows... I am thinking now that we may go with a minister (still not super religious) so we may not save on the officiant fee, but we'll still save on the bood work and all the translation of paperwork and hassle of it all. Plus with a saturday wedding our marriage certificate would have had friday's date on it anyway. After seeing the hassles Michelle08 just posted about her legal paperwork from mexico it really does make legal day more appealing. Looking forward to hearing your review. ANd seeing all your pics! AND hearing about your legal day in 2 days!

OMG Erin, I hope everything is ok. We're all rooting for you... Definitely go for the lace-up back. I just don't get it. It really seems like a weird nightmare - like they totally took it in too much. I'm so worried for you! But, I think everyone's right that it will all work out in the end. Let us know what's going on....
