AND THE WINNER IS...... *Drumroll*: #3!!! I BOUGHT IT!!!!!! Phew! That really makes this all feel "real" KWIM?

It's SO weird being alone... Kev left for a 4-day canoeing trip this morning. He's going with 2 other adults and 5 underpriviledged teenagers. And it's supposed to rain all week. He had a hell of a time organizing the trip, when it shouldn't have been him doing that in the first place. Plus, he is going with a guy he doesn't like (my friend's brother who is a crusty jerk). I really really hope he's having an ok time. I think it's his kind of thing and he misses it - he used to work with boy scouting trips all the time- but I miss him! I ordered his wedding band today online. He bought me roses before he left and we had a great time this morning, just lounging around for about an hour before he had to go. It was so nice. I realized that we've both been so busy lately we haven't even made time to kiss. So we made out and it was really good I also booked us into a hotel in Soho NYC for Sunday night!!! We're going to do a road trip when he gets back. I hope he's somewhat rested and has had a good time. Otherwise it'll be tough for him to go straight into a long road trip weekend. For me, I'm just trying to make it to Friday. I have a summer day off on Friday, so just 3 more days of work. I feel so burned out. I think I need a different job. The stress is killing me.

So yeah, about 2 weeks ago now (I estimate), I finally emailed about the invitations and was told that they had JUST been sent that day. So all my waiting was in vain. Apparently it stated online that they had 15 business days from the time the proof is approved until they had to send it. Guess they waited the full 15 days Then last week, Kev told me I had a package from Australia so I ran downstairs and it was from my mom. Not that I wasn't happy, but seriously. It's like a neverending saga. Get here already !!!!!!!! I want to do this to the stupid people at the invite shop I hate them

Good for you! Good luck! If he asks, be straightforward. That's my only issue - if you don't ask clearly, you won't get a clear answer. I don't think it sounds as though he really understands what you want. I think it sounds like you presented yourself to him as someone who needs a bit of extra money, not either a huge raise or a whole new position. Since he's not willing, if he asks, I'd be straightforward and say: I'm applying for other jobs because I feel as though I've got to take some new opportunities and expand my horizons. But I'd be happy to train my replacement and I want to stay in touch." Or whatever (if you want to on a personal level stay in touch). I think it's great that you're moving on. It sounds like it was high time!

I just found these on Kohl's online and really like them. They're a bit modern, but simple and clean lines. They're mother of pearl. They are also really really reasonably priced and IMO if you're BMs are so frivolous about letting you pay and knowing they might not even like what you pick, I'd go as cheap as possible (not sacrificing style, of course). Also, the chain is 18" already If they're wearing their hair up, I'd go for the earrings. If they're wearing their hair down I'd go for the necklace on its own and some plain stud earrings (whatever they have already that is silver). I just got a friend's daughter a "big sister"gift and she's 2. We got her a cute little xylephone - like a mini piano that is very light on noise and easy to play. Apparently she loves it. She sits down and bangs on it while her mom practice the piano It's not a pricey gift but I'm sure you can get pricier versions. I think ours was about $15 or something at Toys R Us. At that age they are changing so quickly I wouldn't want to spend too much $$ on them as they don't much care!

Just to clarify: I know that STDs over internet is not the classiest, but in our case it became necessary because people were really wanting details and our STDs that we put lots of time into ended up havnig to be re-done (date change), etc. That said, I think that those who got them didn't mind and those who would have, got the letter version.

I sent out the STD invitation to everyone I was going to invite. Then again, I did it online because things were going so quickly and we didn't have time to do proper ones. The people who don't have email or I thought needed a more "formal" STD I sent letters to (Grandparents and my dad, etc.) that told them about our website and some of the crucial details. It's a bit weird the way it's worked out, but now since a few people declined already, we will not be sending invitations to those people. And I think that's great because it saves us money and they wouldn't want to be "invited" again. I think it's especially important to send STDs to those people you really don't think will be able to come because in all likelihood you'll hear back from them before your invites go out and they wont' end up getting one. When we get back, we'll probably send out Announcements to a lot more people who didn't get STDs or Invites, but who will be happy to get our news and a photo and know what happened. I think that's also a good way for us to cover our butts with the family who will be somewhat annoyed htey weren't invited. At least that way they get the announcement. And probably also invited to our At Home Reception. Blah. So much paper!

You know what's really funny is that from now on, when we buy thongs from Victoria's Secret, there will be a label on the packaging saying "Please wear goggles before attempting to try these on". ROLF Man, some people are just moronic. LOL

I was just thinking: if you don't have wedding colours or a theme picked out yet, you could make one of your colours blue and a theme with boats/'arcs' - like have your place holders be little boats, etc. Make plays on Noah and the Biblical story, KWIM? Maybe that's all dumb, but it's all part of brainstorming. Hell, you don't have your dress yet - you could have a blue sash too.

I love that idea! Of incorporating him into your wedding jewelry and a locket is worn right near the heart. That's so sweet! I'll think about it too and if I can come up with anything I"ll post
