There are definitely examples on the forum. I know that a few girls have done very comprehensive pre-travel booklets. For us, we'll have to have a few q&a's on: 1) organizing travel from the airport to the hotel (as it's not provided) 2) tourist visas (what they are, where you get them) 3) weather and currency 4) maps Do a search on travel booklets. I'm sure you'll come up with some. Or some more girls will pipe in!

Also do you think it would be tacky if I asked her to place just a few green little jewels on the designs in the corners?? Also, do you think the wording sounds weird?? ANY SUGGESTIONS/OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANKS YOU GIRLS ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! I love love love your idea of having green little jewels on the corners within the designs. I agree that you need to tie in the colours on the ribbon to the invitation's design. I think that the jewels would be a really great way. Having the border (or one line of hte border) be coloured is also a great idea. I think I'd choose either the coloured border or the jewels, but not both. IMO. In terms of the wording, have you searched through the wording sites to see if another would suit you better? This site may drive you nuts with all the options, but have a browse: VerseIt.com I love your colours, btw!

OMG. You are officially evil... LOL. I have been sooooo good for 5 whole days and now all I want is a chocolate bar!!! I love Twix. I also really like Coffee Crisp, Aero, Kit Kat, Wonderbar is delish, I could go on and on. I really like Hershey's mint chocolate bars. OH and how could I forget - Mr Big! And After 8s, but they aren't really bars. I'm screwed tonight...!

I found THE DRESS!!!
kevsgirl replied to *Casey*'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Wow! You're really gonna take your FI's breath away! That is gorgeous on you -
So I've been browsing more recently (because I'll eventually be selling on this site - hopefully!) and found a really cool jewelry seller... haven't ordered yet, but just wanted to show off this cool stuff! esdesigns (Elizabeth Scott) Most of it is made by casting organic elements in silver. Here are 2 of my favorite pieces:

Just gorgeous, Rachel. What a great find! I am one of those major flower lovers, so I don't know if I can get my head around a fake one, but I know that they can look and feel real...your FI's comments really make me consider it! My mother sent me a cute frangipani one, but it's kind of hard. It looks real, but doesn't feel real.

How to Avoid a Mother in Law Freak Out
kevsgirl replied to Kits55's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Ok, so I also have a pretty controlling (albeit very sweet) FMIL. She is wonderful, but she gets so into planning things that she doesn't hear what other people are saying, KWIM? I almost died one day we were all at a family event and she stands up and announces that everyone is invited to our wedding. Oh man, did FI ever tell her off for that!!! His family is getting the short end of the stick for our DW. It's not because we don't like them, but there are too many of them, most of them can't afford it and FI isn't that close to any of them. On my side, my mom's side is getting the most invitations, my dad's side has none. That's because I honestly don't know any of my aunts and uncles on my dad's side, but I do know and really care for my mom's family. My dad seems fine with that. My best advice is that you and FI are very very clear on exactly what your plans are (list, location, etc.) before entering into any discussions with FMIL. Otherwise, it sounds like she will dictate the wedding and you don't want to go there. Mine tried to get me to change the location and date several times over and tried to guilt me into inviting all of FIs family on both sides, and that would have been over 50 people. Everything that is a discussion should only be with you and FI. That is guest list, location, date, etc. Obviously you want to make sure people can make the date you choose, but we even got backfired on that one too, because at the last minute, FMIL decided she and FFIL couldn't make our date and we ended up moving it earlier. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Once you and FI are completely agreed together on your plan of attack, then quietly ask him to talk to her and tell her exactly what's going to happen. If you aren't inviting her twin, he should tell his mom that it's because you really don't know her and you want to only have people who are very close to you at the wedding. Good luck! -

I'm thinking of using it for our AHR guestbook. We are going to have a photobooth, so guests can take a series of pictures as a favor and we can have a set. To my surprise person, I will get your gift out this weekend, but I promise you will have it before next Friday! I like the suspense! LOL Ooooh!! I love the frame!!! What brand is it

Welcome to the forum, Jenn! You'll find great ideas on here and probably get sucked into lots of DIY projects

Too cute! LOL. Cub is a bit of a queen. He doesn't like getting wet, so he won't even get his feet wet when it's raining outside. But my old family dog used to loooove to roll in seaweed.

UGG!! I want Bride'sMen...

It's really hard. I know how you feel - at this point, I wouldn't besurprised at all if none of my friends or FI's friends come to our wedding It amazes me whenever I see fellow BDW Brides in their siggies showing upwards of 50 guests. I think we may have 15 if we're lucky. We wanted a small wedding, but it really hurts not having any friends at all attend. I know in the end, all we need is eachother and some family. Don't let it get you too down. I decided to ask my 2 sisters to be my bridesmaids/maids of honour because they were the only people who frmo the very beginning have been nothing but excited and happy for us to have a DW. Good luck with your planning. Maybe more people will come in the end? You can wait til you have a better idea before deciding on a bridal party. Or maybe just decide not to have one at all? -
This week is dragging... work has been brutal and I'm on edge waiting for FI to see the doctor on Friday to get the real results... We're planning on going out after on Friday night together. We haven't seen much of eachother in a week. So much work and he's in classes 2 nights a week too. We're both exhausted. I soooo hope it's good news. Crossing my fingers....

In the past 2 months, 2 of my friends who live in different places (Calgary and Barrie Ontario) have had a boy named Carson. It's a really cute name. It's funny though, because I saw their baby pics on Facebook and had to do a double-take at the name!

I think I discovered that a huge part of my problem is that I don't have a clear goal. So my 'homework' for this week is to come up with a very clearly defined goal. I have to write it down. It has to - be in positive language (I'd like to fit into a size __, rather than "I don't want to keep being a size ___") - have a clear time frame ("in 8 weeks...", etc.) - clearly outline how I will get to this goal (by attending WW meetings, by being careful about desserts, by getting more active So. That's what I'm up to this week. Just thought it might help you out. Andrea

What kind of high fiber cereal do you eat?
kevsgirl replied to tvt's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Here are my favorites: Red River cereal: Made with flax and it's hot cereal, so kind of like very seed-y oatmeal. (5.7grams of fiber) Grape Nuts: Not made out of grapes or nuts. LOL! (7 grams fiber) Both are very bland, so I usually add milk and a package of fake sugar. -
Engagement Ring Question

It's kind of a personal thing, so what I consider to be cute and unique you may not agree with, but here are some that I like: Girls: Romy Ione (pronounced I-o-nee) Addison Boys: Mal (Malcolm) Brogan Brock Drake Bennett Tiernan I'd really recommend this book called The Baby Name Wizard by Laura Wattenberg. Of all the baby name books out there, this one I find to be really fun to look through. It has Sister and Brother sections, so that each name will also have compatible (like-typed) brother and sister options. It also has a cool section at the back for Types/Categories, like the following (there are way more, each with a huge list): Brisk and Breezy: Bree, Blair, Dale, etc. Bell-Tones: Ainsley, Ashlyn, Haylee, etc. Guys and Dolls: Emmy, Addie, Josie, Harry, Mack, etc. Lacy and Lissome: Acadia, Alina, Brianna, Dania, etc. Last Names First: Archer, Bailey, Cooper, Dexter, etc. Nickname-Proof: Amber, Audrey, Devin, Dallas, etc. Fanciful: Aeron, Bliss, Allure, Everest

Engagement Ring Question
kevsgirl replied to mymy116's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I've actually heard that it's "bad luck" to wear it before you are actually married. I'm not really superstitious, but I'm voting for waiting like most others, just because it's one more fun part about getting married -
We're totally planning to do this for our AHR (if it happens...!). Then again, it's just us. I don't know if I'd really want to dress up everyone all over again (all the wedding party). But it's hard to say, because my sisters won't be here for the AHR. I love my dress and want to get the most out of it possible! Plus, in a way, our AHR will be for those who couldn't come and want to feel included.
