  1. Absolutely beautiful, Simistar! What's up with this thread? Everyone's awol! I'm freaking out! It's coming up so soon!!!
  2. Congrats, Lisa!!! Luke is super cute. What a big boy!
  3. Here's mine! I just finished it up (well, I am waiting on 2 more pics, but it's essentially done!) Honestly - all it is is a bunch of text boxes in Word... hope you all like it and it helps! Meet The Guests Template.doc
  4. You're not even leaving the bloody country! Excuse my anger... we were in a similar situation. I honestly think that it doesn't matter what the reason is, unless it's that the timing isn't possible for them. If they just don't want to make the trip, stick to your guns. It's nobody's job to convince them. Screw convincing people to come to your wedding. That's just plain rude and cruel. Make sure you and your FI want to do the wedding there and if that's a yes, then start your plans and book. They will come around. FI's parents did and now they're really excited about it. I think they wanted to set the tone for us. They made us change the date a bit, but not tons. Battle of the wills is totally what it is. People are so mean!
  5. I made it in this morning, with my (new) bra, but I hadn't loaded week5 onto the ipod... so I did another day of week4. No problems though! Did some more situps and worked on my arms. I just ate half a box of Mike and Ikes though. I knew there was a reason I wasn't seeing any results... LOL!
  6. Miranda - take care of yourself! Get well So I didn't go at all today I actually went at lunch and got changed all the way before I realized that I hadn't packed my sports bra So I went and bought a new one, but that took up my whole lunch hour. I went out to see FI play football tonight, so it'll have to happen tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, I'm back on the horse! Week 5 of the learn to run program
  7. oooh! I love it! The bustline is fab and the dress shape really suits you. I love your veil too!
  8. That's so much fun! Definitely scrounge up some pics for us!
  9. I love the colours! I'm not a fan of the stephanotis though. I think maybe because they're so small? What about white calla lillies instead? Or somethign else to set your bouquet off as the most 'important'?
  10. I'm being lazy right now. I can't get my butt in gear. This morning I'm going to the gym to start week 5 on the learn to run (0 to 5 k). It's been good so far, but week 4 was very difficult... I know once I get going it'll be worth it. I am seeing no results at all though, so that is a bit depressing. I also had 2 showers this weekend and was careful, but still ate more than I should have! Edit: I think I'm going to go in to work super early and then just go at lunch. Maybe that'll be good having a break... I'm also doing crunches every other day at the gym and arms.
  11. We set a max. budget of $25 per bag. I have kept to that. I ordered the basic canvas totes from cheaptotes.com and got the iron-on transfer paper to put our monograms on them. I like them! They won't be super full, but there are just so many things to buy that I'm glad I've put a lid on this.

He thinks the gym is boring. I love having the routine and knowing that I'm getting exercise in every 2nd day. Good luck! There's a fun motivating thread on here too to check in on how you're doing every day.
  13. Ok, so I have white ecofetti and I'm putting it into these little glassine envelopes that are long and thin. I've punched holes at the top and am tying a raffia bow on them to close them. I'll attach a square sticker to them saying something - I just can't think of what. I don't want to use the sayings already in this thread, because they are totally not us. I also thought it would be fun to incorporate the fact that it looks like snow and we'll be missing snow while in Mexico! Any ideas?
  14. What about using something that smells and tastes ok? Like Beauty Rush lip gloss from Victoria's Secret
  15. Here are mine - I love them! The ones I hemmed the dress to are the last ones - they are a 2" heel and Coloriffics (Amber style).

That is terrible. That makes me want to cry! I'll definitely put mine inside out. Jeeze!
  17. You could do so many different things if you want something '50s inspired. Siri has BM dresses that come in ivory, like this one: Vivian Leigh Dress - Siri You could do actual vintage, as found on a site like Posh Girl Vintage: Dolly Couture has great '50s inspired gowns (and very good prices), like this one: Do you know what kind of a neckline you want? Bateau, portrait? Or strapless? Oh and this Melissa Sweet is gorgeous - a bit more modern (and higher end $$$), but beautiful:
  18. It's do-able, but have you ever been that light before? Because you have to factor in body type. I'm 5'3" and currently hovering around 144. At my absolute thinnest and fittest in adulthood I weighed 128 and I looked on the verge of being too thin. My goal this past year was to get down to 135, which I think is reasonable for me. I was 151 last year and dropped down to 145 and just stopped there I'm now running every other day and doing weights. The weight drops off fast when you're working out, it just sometimes takes a few months. Then it all comes off (in my past experience). So factor in your age and your past weights and your body type before having a goal that may be unachievable. But in terms of healthy losing, as long as you are losing 1 lb or 2 lbs every week, you should be in good shape Good luck!
  19. Welcome back! That sounds pretty stressful, but glad to hear that you're settling back down. Did you move far? One of my friends in Pittsburgh is going through hell right now - her DH was laid off about a month ago and they're Canadian, so they have until Dec 12 to get re-hired (she has 3 little ones at home). Depending on where he gets a new job, they'll have to move and sell their house. They're freaking out...
  20. oh NO! That's terrible.... Did you get before and after pics? Where did you order from? That is just so sad. I hope it's closer to what you wanted at this point? I'm sure you won't be able to tell the quality in pics, probably just close-up.
  21. As a kid we used to go and cut down our Christmas tree on my mom's birthday (Dec 17th). Since I moved in with FI I want to start decorating super early, but he's set a date of Dec 1 for me because I"m super eager. LOL!
