  1. We stayed there for 2 weeks - let me try and post a pic: Here is the gazebo. It's right off of the beach.
  2. That's crazy - glad that you narrowed it down, though. We stayed at the RIU Palace for 2 weeks and it was amazing. What really made it blissful was the seafood - so fresh and tasty!
  3. We ended up having to call people to see if they were coming. So irritating and so rude not to rsvp, but necessary for arrangements.
  4. We had our ceremony in Central Park on April 24th, just got back from our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, and we're having our AHR on May 24th. We're having hot sauce with custom labels with our "Thank You" photo - basically the 2 of us in our wedding attire with signs that say "Thank" and "You". I thinking of having the "Married - April 24, 2009" at the top of the photo, and then at the bottom of the photo saying something like "...for celebrating with us - May 24, 2009". Any other ideas? Thanks!
  5. I'm an academic advisor at a college.
  6. We're having custom hot sauce bottles for our favors, but you certainly don't need to have them.
  7. And I forgot to mention - many vendors have a meal as a requirement in their contract.
  8. My understanding is that you should provide a meal for all hired vendors such as photographers and videographers. They're not necessarily expected to have the same meal as the guests, but they should be provided with food. If the WC is there, I would offer her a meal.
  9. We're having our celebration for appx. 80 (still have to send out invites and get the rsvp's back - this is an estimate) at a restaurant. We'll have appetizers, entrees, dessert, sangria, beer, wine, soda, juice, and a dj. The total cost for that is $5100. We're also bringing in cupcakes for $300, and floral for about $600, and we're doing custom hot sauce bottles with our pictures on them for about $200. Total cost is appx. $6500. Not too bad, especially for a NYC restaurant.

  11. We sent out STD's in October, and we're sending out our invites this Saturday for our May 24th celebration. Did you send out STD's? If so, then people already know when the celebration is, so I think that you can send the invites out in early May. When is your reply date on the invites?

So impressed by this company. That's so funny! I think that the orange and fuschia color theme is really common for destination weddings, but I love them together. I love the final products for both the STD and invite. The quality and weight of the paper is top notch. And I've gotten a lot of compliments on them! You should be really happy with them. Which ones did you order?

  15. Are you worried about your plane tickets and i.d's? You wouldn't have your new id's before you leave anyway, so you would be fine. Is there something else that was worrying you?
  16. I think it's great - the only question I have is is the wine a favor as well, or does each table open it during the reception?
  17. Oh, and let me mention that Juarez on Broughton St. has really good drinks, but the food is not so great. The prices are really low, so there's always a lot of people there.
  18. I second the Old Navy recommendation. Super cheap but they're cute1
  19. LOL! Not a problem. Tybee's about 20 minutes from downtown.
