Teenage girls made pact to get pregnant together
EricaG replied to starchild's topic in Random Thoughts
I have always said that the best birth control my mom ever gave me was my sister! She was born on my 12th birthday, so I was old enough to understand the responsibilty that goes along with a baby, yet young enough to make the right choices as a teenager. I had a few friends in junior high that would make comments about having babies to love them and so on. I decided to step in and make sure that they got an idea and realized what it was like to have a baby that you can't just give back when it's hungry, poopy or crying. I talked to my Mom and she was all for it too. I took my sister and spent a whole day with a friend (which wasn't really anything all that new), but the difference was that I wouldn't do anything with my sister. I was basically only a spectator. If she cried, they had to figure out what was wrong and fix it. They had to feed her, change her and keep her entertained. They realized that it isn't all fun and games and that babysitting is not the same as parenting. None of the friends I did that with became teen Mom's and they never really talked about having babies for a long time afterwards. -
My dress came in!!! *with pics*
EricaG replied to Bride010101's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
You look so beautiful in that dress. It looks like it was made for you!!! I'm happy you nerves ended up being for nothing! -
It would be a busy 2 weeks for me because the w/e before the NKOTB concert is the Naughty & Nice Taboo sex show that I go to every year!! 3 trips to the city in 2 weeks for me. I am going to need a vactaion after that! LMAO

Philly_Bride - That is so awesome. I would have been nervous too, and it doesn't surprise me that he stole the show! Alyssa - That is crazy. I bet you were wishing you had made it to that party!

That is so awesome. My MOH asked if I wanted to go and when I told her yes, she said that she was glad because she was thinking of getting the tickets and then laying them on the table so when I helped her move I would see them and say what are these? Then she would tell me that they were NKOTB tix and I was going with her. Anyway, she said she was going to look into getting some, and when I asked her about it, all she said was 'Yup, I looked'. That was all she would say, so I am not sure if she maybe got them and is planning on giving me one for my b-day or what! Oh well, I will be able to let you know in Aug if I get to go to their concert the week before we leave for our wedding.

I LOVE this show. When it is on, FI always rolls his eyes, but lets me watch it without anymore fuss. Actually, I think he enjoys watching it too, but just doesn't want to admitt it. LOL. I still don't have any fav, but Twitch is starting to do something for me. I think it was the Viennese Waltz that totally got me intrigued with him. We will see what happens this week, and see if he still does it for me!!! I may have a fav guy! I used to dance growing up, and last week when FI and I were watching the show, he turned to me and asked me if I wanted to dance again. I thought it was so sweet, and I would so totally love to, but I don't know if there are adult classes here anymore, as we live in a small town. Dancing was one thing that I never wanted to miss. I have loved 2 jobs, but sometimes still didn't want to be there and still don't want to be at one sometimes! Whenever I watch this show, the energy inside me gets ignited (as I sit on the couch watching the show LMAO), and I just want to get up and start dancing with them. I wonder if I can do some of the things that they are doing, and I wonder if I can still do other things they are doing!

Way to go! I'm glad you found something that works for you. Good luck losing the other 7 lbs, I'm sure you won't have any problems.

Not only did I get the shell done lastnight, but today I started and finished the luggage tags that we wil be using on the bubba kegs. Oh yes, and I also started the seashell boutunniers, but need more supplies before I can finish and post them.

Help Me Decide- Sand Ceremony
EricaG replied to Martha's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I think that the tall one is a great shape and would look awesome as a sand ceremony, however, I think it is too big, especially if you are carrying it with you down there and back. It is going to need a lot of sand, and it will be heavy on the flight home. The small one is a nice shape too, but I don't think that it is too small. It will probably make a nice sized sand ceremony. I say use the small one! You could always use the big one for something else. -
I'm glad to hear that you were able to get everything off your laptop. When I got my new comp, I still kept the old one since it had everything on it. I was planning to take it off and transfer it over, but never did. Then one day the mother board decides to die. Thank goodness the local comp guys were able to get everything off and put it on a disk.

Well now that my daughter is feeling a little better (no fevers), it was my son's turn to cause excitement around here. Yesterday he ws playing with a ball in the livingroom when he tipped over. he cried a bit but was fine. I picked him up and put him on the couch between FI and I and started feeding him little pieces of hotdog. There was a plate on the coffee table with the hotdog on it which he saw and literally flung himself forwards to get it. Well, he landed on the edge of the coffee table with the bridge of his nose. Of course Igrabbed him right away and there was instant swelling and a big black bruise across his nose. Off to the hospital we went, and not to long after being there it was apparent that he was probably fine, but it was better to get him checked out. So we just had to keep an eye on him and watch for signs of a head injury and make sure that the swelling doesn't get too bad. The rest of the day he seemed pretty sleepy, but yet he fought it off. I kept putting him in situations that he wouldn't want to sleep through. This morning the swelling seems to have stopped, and he has a bit of a black eye, but as long as he doesn't bump his nose, he is very content and happy. I see a lot of sick and hurt kids at work, but it is always very different when it is your own kid!!!!

Thanks! I think it was about 3am when I was putting it together. I couldn't sleep and kept thinking about how I could do it, so I got up, brought all the stuff to the room and sat in bed putting it together.

My parents missed their flight!!!!!!
EricaG replied to jamisoncollette's topic in Just venting or funnies
So sorry to hear that you had all this added stress right before your wedding, especially when you are in no position to fix anything. It sounds like everything has been sorted out though, so take a deep breath and try to relax *sigh*. I am sure your parents won't be late tomorrow and will be there with plenty of time to catch the flight.
