We were going to keep it quiet, but decided not to keep it secret in the end. Everyone is fine with it, and the few that have given us a bit of a look, I tell them that only our MOH and BM are going to be there and that my Mom isn't even going to be there and she is fine with that. Then they are completely fine with it. We also tell them that even though we are doing the legal thing here, we aren't exchanging rings and our 'wedding' will be down in the Dominican.

I must say that I think the 'triangle of survival' does make sense to me, although I haven't been in an earthquake. Hmmm....I wonder where survivors of collapsed buildings in earthquakes were located?

Obviously my semi excuse for my slight weight loss last week was accurate. I was not expecting to have the weight loss of the week, but wow! Now I better kick it up a gear and try to keep it up! Great job to everyone else too!!!

We got our marriage licence awhile ago and we are having our legal day next friday!!!!! I better find a present for my sister too, since it is our birthday that day too. My baby sister will be 17...I remember her being a little baby so clearly! If that time flies that quickly, our weddings will be here in what will only seem like a sneeze!

I was in Edmonton during the big F5 tornado back in 1987. Actually, tomorrow will be exactly 21 years since "Black Friday" as it has been called. A few years ago there was another one that was south of Edmonton at Pine Lake too. If there are tornado warnings or even a watch for funnel clouds, I am out there checking out the sky to see if I can see any! I still am not sure about earth quakes though. Once a tornado is done, there aren't usually little tornados that come in behind it, unlike earthquakes.

I have been to the resort before and I LOVE it. It is a big resort having the different sections all in one area, but it is beautiful. The staff is very nice and the food was good. Last time we stayed in the the Bavaro section and our rooms were in the villas that surround the central pool area. When we booked, we were just looking for the best deal for everyone to go down, and when the Palace section came up with the best prices, we booked. I am hoping that we end up right next to the ocean, that would be awesome!

I am wearing my dress at our AHR 4 months after our wedding. For many people, the AHR is the wedding and then they can still see you in your dress. I am also making the bridal party wear their outfits and make it as much of a wedding reception for everyone that was unable to make it.

90 does sound like an awful lot of aftershocks. But they say you can't always feel the aftershocks right? So some of them would just be picked up with the earthquake machines. I think feeling that many aftershocks would almost bother me more than the original earthquake, but I can only guess. Emergency Plan.doc

Glad to hear that everyone is okay, and glad your house is alright Yari! I too am one that has never felt an earthquake, and the only drills that we ever had in school up here in Alberta were fire drills. We do get tornados up here, but I am close to the mountains, so we have only had little twisters touch down around my home town, and at the most they have ripped off barn roofs.

I just found out that one of my bridal showers is going to be the weekend of Sept 13 I think. My Mom's friend is throwing that one in the city and doing a spa treatment at her house. Not sure if there will be any other ones for sure or not. There have been talks, but I don't know if there is anything for sure.
