  1. So after trying on tons of more traditional or destination style wedding dresses....I finally decided that if I'm going to get married under the HOT Jamaican sun, I want to wear a short dress. I tried on some short bridal dresses and just didn't like them. FINALLY....I found a bridesmaid dress that has a little more "fancy" feeling to it....Bought it yesterday, now I just have to sit around and wait! Here is the link (No, I'm not getting it in Yellow...it will be all white!) Watters & Watters | Bridesmaid Gown Collection | Style 2486 | Leaver lace strapless crumb-catcher bodice with dupioni silk knee-length skirt and sash. Available in knee length, floor length or extra length. One more check off of the old list!
  2. I agree! I would love to know where the dress is from.
  3. AHHH...my laptop, where I had been doing all of my wedding stuff CRASHED!!! Luckily I had backed up everything....well....almost everything. I just realized that my whole guest list w/ addresses for our AHR wasn't backed up! The AHR isn't until March...so its not like I'm in a crunch here, but I just keep thinking of the time I put into that freaking list! PLUS, being the computer trusting person that I apparently am, I had deleted all of the emails that various people had sent me with the lists of addresses. Could have been worse I suppose...I can't imagine if all of my other DIY projects had been lost as well! Matt just keeps telling me to breathe.
  4. OK, forget about the dress for just a second here. CONGRATULATIONS on losing 60 lbs. THAT IS AWESOME!
  5. Though things like this are most often benign, as the other have said, I'm sure that they are more concerned due to the fact that she does have a history of another tumor. Your friend (and you too!) are in my thoughts. How old is she? I am a pharmacist in an oncology clinic and it is so amazing to me the number of young women that we see in the clinic for chemo.
  6. Maybe I'll have to get on the ball here and start sending emails! I would love to have the time pushed a little later!
  7. So I'm still at a complete loss for how to have the day of our wedding flow. Lizz...did you say that you had your wedding early in the day? What did you do in between since you can't have the reception dinner until 6:30? Our wedding is at 1. It just seems like a long time in between.
  8. Thats definately good to know! I guess I never really thought about it getting cancelled/moved to another day.
  9. HI ALL! I have a quick question.... My wedding is on a Friday at 1:00. I haven't planned what we are going to do between the ceremony/pictures and dinner, but have a quick question for those of you who may have been there on a Friday night. I'm curious about the Fri. night beach party that I have heard mentioned. Rather than spending a ton of extra $$ on renting the disco or private reception, I thought about just having everyone go to that. Whats it like Any help would be great.....also suggestions for the down time after the ceremony would be great!
  10. This is such a good idea! I love it. We were just talking the other night about trying to come up with something different than just the typical guest book. The painting turned out really well!
  11. I love your dress for the AHR...where did you get it??
  12. HAHA! You aren't supposed to tell me that the stressful part starts now! I thought that choosing a place was tough. We've got letters going out tomorrow that our TA helped us put together including rates/other info. I'm not really doing save the dates, but will send out a boarding pass invitation as we get closer with detail about the wedding/any other activities. I'm a little ahead of the game....they are all laid out on a template and just need to have the actual text filled in! Thinking about "natural touch" flowers as my FAVORITE has always been tulips...logic tells me that tulips probably aren't huge in jamaica! Has anyone seen the tulips from angelaccents? In terms of reception sites etc, I want to try to keep the $$ reasonable...not a huge fan of what I've read about the $50/person options (we'll have probably 50 or so). Has anyone got more detailed information about the different options? Fun fun....so many things to think about
  13. Woohoo! We finally booked our trip and got our confirmation for ROR on Feb 20, 2009. I'm SUPER excited and its starting to feel a more real. Thank you all so far for all of the info you have provided here...it really helped a lot in our decision making process. On a side note, I've seen lots of posts re: the outside vendor policy at the resort (mostly photographers)...has anything ever come of this? My TA said that the WC typically isn't in touch with you until about 2 months prior to the wedding...is there anything that I should be doing in the meantime until I hear from them?
  14. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures! Who was your photographer!?
  15. You wouldn't be interested in selling your orchid strands would you? My wedding isn't until Feb 2009....
  16. Your pictures turned out soooooo good! Everytime I see those orchids hanging from the gazebo I fall in love with them! Did you make them?
  17. HI THERE! We're hoping for a FEB 20th wedding at ROR! Hopefully we can get things booked within the next week. We sould stay in touch and share planning info!
  18. I've been looking for a hibiscus graphic like yours....where did you find that, or was it the lady who helped you with making them? The invites look AWESOME!
  19. Hi everyone! I LOVE LOVE LOVE tulips and would like to have them as my bouquet. Has anyone seen any "realistic" looking silk tulips or know of anyone who makes bouquets who might be able to help?? THANKS!
  20. Were rates pretty decent for February since the resory will still be fairly new? Our TA was going to look into things but I haven't heard back from him yet.
  21. Are there any AI options in PR?
  22. Hello everyone! I'm looking for a little destination advice. We had planned on getting married in Negril, but prices are coming back a little more $$ than we want to ask our friends and family to pay. We are looking for all-inclusive and also have 1 child (8 yo) that will be traveling with us. Most will be staying for 5-7 nights and we would like to keep the cost <$3000/couple including airfare. That is 100% the HIGHEST we would go. We originally chose Negril because we liked the "gardeny" feel that most of the resorts could offer for a ceremony site. We don't necessarily want to get married on the beach and thought that offered more of a private feeling. Any suggestions of other places that can offer this that would fit more into our price range?

Hi everyone! My name is Kristen. THIS SITE IS WONDERFUL! We're planning a Feb 2009 wedding (still in the process of the "where", but likely Negril). Can't wait to keep reading!
