  1. Welcome Vanessa! Make sure you join the Playa Fiesta thread:) Lots of past (like me) and future brides to plan with!

Well, it's a good thing this isn't a for profit site! It's here for your benefit and not theirs. This site is probably the only thing wedding related that's FREE.
  5. Welcome Ivy! Don't worry- we went sight unseen too. And we are going in a couple of weeks so if you need me to ask or take any pictures let me know. That goes for all of you!

We are considering Michelle Turner but photography is one area we are willing to splurge a bit. Thanks for any help! Hi and Welcome!!! So have you done a sight visit or are you going site unseen? We have both on here:) And what is your real name? Unless you want us to call you ives?

Did the same company take your pictures? Thanks for any help you can give me. I am planning my wedding November 26 2010. Darci Hi Darci! Congrats on your upcoming wedding! My hairdresser was the one Playa Fiesta provided. She didn't speak a lot of english so I brought pictures from a bunch of angles. If you like my hair- I can provide you with pics to give whoever you use! I highly recommend bringing pics when you go! I did my own makeup. I was a little afraid of looking like a clown, although the girls that used her look fab so I guess I had nothing to worry about. But I just went to the Bobbi Brown counter (I know girls go to Mac all the time too) and got a demonstration. I bought my makeup early and went back a couple of times for quick lessons. AND I got to keep great makeup so I am glad I did it that way:) Hope that helps~ Our videographer has 2 packages and we did the more expensive one at $1k. He had 2 helpers so 3 videocameras and stayed through most of our reception. I wanted to get some of the dancing on camera and glad I did! Very nice, professionally dressed and punctual:) Not to mention I LOVE our video. Our photographer was Elizabeth Media and was seperate:) LOVE her!
  9. Crystal you look beautiful in your dress.... and I love your menus and votives... can't wait to see it all put together when you get back. Oh just a tip to have a friend or Blaire take your camera on the wedding day so you can get pics of the ceremony site and tables before anyone sits down. I did that and love having them for ME:) Just a thought I'd share. Good luck!!

  13. There was a drummer dressed up too A little macarena anyone?!.
  14. The shuttle bus we rented me and my friend/officiant! Si Senor! Seafood served on Ship! Delicious!
  15. Ok, so I guess I never wrote a review for this... oops! Si Senor- A+ We hosted a groom's dinner (rehersal dinner minus the rehersal) at Si Senor in the old town part of Puerto Vallarta. It far exceeded our expectations!!!! Kind of a funny story how we found the location. I pretty much left this up to DH because as you know, brides have enough going on with the wedding itself! So DH went in to get his hair cut about a month before the wedding and the hairdresser had just returned from PV and told him that we had to go eat there! He asked if it would be a good place to have a dinner and she thought it would. She gave us the manager's name and said he was really nice. So we passed this information on to Lindsay, our WC at Playa Fiesta and she was kind of skeptical so she went and spoke with the manager on one of her trips to town- she came back and said "YES! I think it will be great!" We rented a bus to take all of our guests and if you have the $$ in your budget I highly recommend this... it was really fun to have everyone together and it was a total bonding thing. The shuttle bus dropped us off about a block away which I thought was strange... I had heels on after all. But it was such a cool walk (5 min) on an old cobblestone street (Sidewalk) and when you walk into the restaurant there it is open and tropical. The hostess was dressed in traditional Mexican dress and they were very welcoming. We thought we would just be in a corner of the restaurant but they gave us our own room IN THE FRONT of the restaurant with plenty of windows overlooking town, a wet bar, restrooms, flowers and lots of room. Very nice! They set it up as 2 long tables which was very nice. Greeted our guests with margaritas, chips and salsa as they got settled. They made guac at the table. We ordered some kind of per plate deal and they served us everything from fajitas, tacos, chorizo, chicken, steak, shrimp and lobster. It was BEYOND impressive. The seafood came on these metal ships that had candles on the inside so it looked like the ship was on fire! Super cool. Then, they had entertainment come in to play for tips. There was an excellent mariachi band, and tribal dancers with beautiful headdress. Then at the end of the night you could see fireworks from the window!!! The manager was always present making sure that we had what we needed. Service was wonderful and presentation was top notch. ***We really looked like rock stars pulling out all of the stops! But the truth is we happened upon this gem and did no work other than approve the menu and the price! How often does that happen? My in-laws foot the bill and though it wasn't exactly cheap... it was sooo much less than it was worth! We would never get that experience in the states for close to that price. My in-laws were extatic and we gave all the credit to them:) Everyone is STILL TALKING ABOUT IT A YEAR LATER!!! So I guess I highly recommend it. Let me know if you have any questions:) I'll post pics in a bit.
