Show us your wedding dress!
kate.com replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Yes, I bought it at Mon Amie (was so mad to get home and see my dress in on of their adds....). How did you come accross Mon Amie? You are in WI right? Love the selection, but the service is less than desirable (except for the last girl I got, Sarah W. she was fantastic and helpful)! I live in Mpls. My little sister lives in Santa Monica so I flew out my mom for mothers day... there were a few designers that I couldn't find in MN. I worked with Caitlyn, super nice... but there was some pushy accessories lady and the manager was ok, kind of bossy... and as you can see the sample dress is a little tight (I've already lost 9 lbs, yeeaa!) but it zipped up... and she ordered me a dress 3 times bigger... hmmm, will be interesting. I tried to tell her that I won't be coming there for altrations, but she wasn't having it! -
Hi! I can totally relate... I was planning a Dreams wedding too, but it stressed me out so much that they were not getting back to me that I switched locations. If you really love Dreams, I would also suggest hiring an outside WC. I know that hiring a WC to work with a WC is kind of hard to swallow... but trust me, it is sooooo worth it. My WC answers my emails within minutes most of the time, speaks English fluently which is mega helpful to me, and isn't overworked and under paid. If you are planning a simple ceremony/reception and want to save as much money as possible you can probably wait to make most of your plans upon arrival... but you'll have to relax and let go! It WILL turn out beautiful. But, if you are like me and into the details, an outside WC is the way to go. It is the best money spent so far and am not sorry bc of the peace of mind and no stress! Hope this reasoning helps. I've been there!

Albertabride: Love your "digs"- just learned that word from my little cousins, ha. You are going to look beautiful, and your baby girl is sooooooo cute! FH not so bad himself! I think aqua shirts would be great, not sure if it will look a little....um... feminine with the vest though. Try it out and see what you think! Nicole: I do like the colored bows.... but I think that if you kept white no one would notice:-) If you use yellow flower petals, you might want to use a little more so that it will show up against the sand:-) I think not having anything up at the front is perfect! I'm not either. -

Nice dresses!!!! Nicole: cute short dress and love the shoes! I am leaning towards wearing these Kenneth Cole wedge sandals... they are pearl white with shells on them.. that I got on clearance last year. I love pretty heels, but they are not going to be so pretty if I am wobbling down the isle. I am 5"9 and don't wear heels that often! -

Is that trashy? my future MIL seems to think that getting married in anything BUT PEARLS is a terrible idea.... I am making jewlery for the girls with glass beads.... I don't want the formal look of pearls... with that said, I got the cutest bracelet that has crystals and pearls... maybe there is a compromise! It is by MEG: Bella Jewels.com - products Also, if you search Agape Gems on here there is some great jewlery as well... I am looking at it right now! -

Sure! I created this link... the pics are at the beginning... then somewhere in the middle is the pic of my RSVP card... and then I created a whole word and it is posted towards the end of the thread that has everything you could possibly need! I am not really crafty either. Actually, my FH helped me out too! It was a fun project together but having another gal would be a plus! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t26788 I changed locations too... much happier with my new location! -

You made me laugh too by calling this arrangement "drowned orchids" - super funny! If I'm not mistaken, I believe they probably tied fishing wire around the orchid and then attached it to one of the rocks at the bottom - orchids actually don't float very well at all, so I don't think it was too hard to keep the orchid down. In fact, I can't tell, but if they had a longer stem on the orchid, they might have been able to simply anchor it with the stem caught amongst the rocks - but I do think fishing wire is a safer bet. I do think other flowers could look great in this arrangement - you just need to anchor them with the fishing wire and rock to keep them submerged! NP! Thanks.... I was looking on your website and my fav wedding you did was where you had all of the blue, brown, white cylinder candles at different heights... so beautiful. Not enough room in my suit case though! My newest idea: I want to do aqua/teal and red! I have been looking for fabric for table runners/squares... so pretty. But I also like when there is touches of white, brown and even magenta! I have been googling aqua and red and like everything I see...however, I would like a more romantic or whimsy feel than the modern I am seeing. I also have been looking at white papel picado flags and want to incorporate them and lanterns. Do you think I can create a romantic Mexico feel with these colors? Any ideas?

Hi! I wouldn't worry. Ironically, of the 5 weddings I have been to in the past year, all except one had more gals than guys. In fact, I went to a very fancy wedding and there were 10 BMs and only 5 GMs.... it did not look funny at all! Each guy had 2 gals on his arm. I think this is a lot better than asking extras to be in your wedding or leaving someone out... In fact, I may be asking one more so it will be 4 and 3 too. I'm just not feeling right leaving the one girl out! This is the least of your worries!!!! -
