(Even if he did, she would never give it to him) He also has a sister (who couldn't be more different than my FI...she relies on their mom for everything! Re: money) My FI just can't be bothered with a relationship with either of them, and as our relationship progresses i can see why. ANyway, when we got engaged and decided on a DW his sister pretty much decided for me that her daughter was going to be our flower girl. (Fine, not a big deal). She bought a flower girl dress, asked if her friend could come to the wedding (who was going to be in Cabo as well) and swore up, down, sideways and backwards they were going to come to our wedding. NOW, i get an email from his mom saying his sister ISN'T coming (for some reason his sister can't tell me herself?). I am torn....a part of me is sooo mad at them for letting my FI down once again (he would never admit it though) and wondering if I should say anything or just let it go Help! You are probably past the point of needing advice, but I would probably let it go. It is about you and your man. Period. Don't let others bring you down! You are his family now! Good luck and I am thinking of you!

Expect to pay only about $2 USD for a 27-foot string of it. I am going to e-mail Mishka Designs and see if she knows if this place is still there. I hope it is because I was going to go there to get my picado papel from them when we got there. If it is and when we get there it is great, I'll let you guys know. Wow! That would save a TON of money too!
  3. I think you'll be fine... it's not like it is busy season! But why didn't she offer to have it rushed for you? PS I booked my videographer yesterday! Progress!

Love it! Great idea.

  8. Here is the other wedding review, although she hasn't written much yet: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t24289 Ray from PromoVisionPV actually sent the link... thanks Ray! He said that wedding forums are not really his thing... imagine that, a guy doesn't want to chit chat about weddings all day long?!. LOL. I also spoke to my WC Lindsay and she recommended Ray as well... and not to worry about no deposit/contract... this is typical in PV and they will show up on time:-)

Thanks Kathy So I called and talked to Ray today and decided to go with them. here is a vendor review for a bride that recently used them: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t26500 My wedding is a few months before yours so I guess I can be the guinea pig! The only thing I am worried about is the lack of contract... but you should go through Dazzling Details, correct?
  11. thank you! I am looking into using your videographer, any advice?
  12. OK, I have a suggestion: The song "Heavenly Day" by Patty Griffin. It is a perfect wedding song, it doesn't talk about being in love with the person so I think it works for a parents song, and I think I will use it too! Here are the lyrics: "Heavenly Day" Oh heavenly day, all the clouds blew away Got no trouble today with anyone The smile on your face I live only to see It's enough for me, baby, it's enough for me Oh, heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day Tomorrow may rain with sorrow Here's a little time we can borrow Forget all our troubles in these moments so few All we've got right now, the only thing that All we really have to do Is have ourselves a heavenly day Lay here and watch the trees sway Oh, can't see no other way, no way, no way Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day No one at my shoulder bringing me fears Got no clouds up above me bringing me tears Got nothing to tell you, I've got nothing much to say Only I'm glad to be here with you On this heavenly, heavenly, heavenly, heavenly Heavenly day, all the trouble's gone away Oh, for a while anyway, for a while anyway Heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day
  13. Love them! I love the red with white lace... goes with my overall motif! What is the price range? I know that it varies, but would like an idea to see if it is in budget. Hope you had a nice weekend!
  14. Thank you for this! I have been googling flowers in PV all weekend and came up with: roses & gerbers... so for a lady on a budget, this would be the way to go!

Was it hectic getting it all there and then putting them together? I'm also making my bouquets and bouts and god knows what else....Center pieces maybe? I dunno, but I am gonna need alot of suit cases aren't I? I better tell my FI to pack lite!! hahahahaha To give you an idea: I bought 30 medium sized tote bags from eddie bauer (canvas, blue handles) and are having them monogramed. They have their own large suitcase. The items I am bringing to put in the bags are small, so they will take up one more medium suitcase, then when we get to mexico, we are going to take a trip to the store to buy some bottled water, a couple of snacks and maybe little bottles of tiquila. *** The best idea I have is to make sure your luggage can pack into other luggage for the ride home. So if I have things that are non breakable- like the bags themselves, I am going to try to put them in a duffle bag so I have less to bring home, make sense? The other thing I am trying to remember is to not get too carried away, the gesture is nice, but people will appriciate anything we do!
  16. Welcome Mlk676! We are date twins!!! And we are both getting married in Puerto Vallarta so maybe we can help eachother out.
  17. I think you can do what ever you want! But, since your friends/family are going out of there way to be there for you... it is a good idea to recognize that is some shape or form. If you are wanting to find things locally make sure you either have the time to go before people get there or have someone at the resort (ie WC) help you out. Another idea I had is to do a simple thank you and welcome card/packet delivered to them when they arrive, then pick up the expenses for an activity such as a boat cruise, salsa instructor, fishing, massage, etc. Depends upon the budget!
  18. thinking and praying for you guys TODAY on your WEDDING DAY!

Right now I am scared because I am planning a wedding that is thousands of miles away and I don't know what to expect. Hi there! First off, Congrats and get ready for a wild ride! Now relax, because everything will be perfect...
  20. Oh, the other thing I thought was neat is that your AHR decorations matched your wedding decor! That way it was an extension of your wedding... and people can feel like they're a part of it! Will you post pics of you and your hubby? Did you have your honorary bridesmaids wear something special or how did you honor them? I am trying to figure that out. Did you make your slideshow/video yourself?
  21. Thanks for the review Stephanie! Great advice.... I am going to LOWER my expectations, I would have been a little disappointed too! My AHR is 5 months after the wedding... that is a long time, but we wanted to 1) Host it outside, and in Minnesota I wouldn't dare do that any sooner and 2) Host it after school is out... which is the main conflict for people not being able to attend. Honestly, I have a feeling that ANY TIME after a destination wedding would be anti-climatic due to the FABULOUS time we are going to or have had at our DW... so I am not going to get too hung up on that. All in all your wedding turned out beautifully! I take it your dress cleaned up well after your TTD?
