January 2009 Brides Post Here
kate.com replied to Dez921714's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Wow! What busy bees we have been! So I want to my parents house this weekend... mom and I baked all day yesterday (I know, not going to help the figure!) but we did figure out all of my flowers and decorations for the wedding. We havent bought anything yet, except I have 4 lanterns for tables I have decided to bring with me, even if it is a royal pain! So pretty excited! As I start "creating" I'll post pics... promise! I feel really good now. -
should have spent more on the dress and less on the implants.

It's bachlorette party time! Check out the cute invite my sister made! We are "Wigging Out" so it's perfect! -

I think we're having email tutorials for the next few days to make sure she can get back to them again:) I bet it was HUGE to her! Computers are confusing to me sometimes (well all of the time)

Awwww.... so cute Morgan! I know my Grandma really wants to be there. Maybe I will helicopter her in! We are so lucky to have them in our lives. PS I added a picture, sorry so big! I tried to resize but it wasn't having it!

I just got tears in my eyes! I love Grandma! Was a big reason why I picked my resort for the wedding... direct flight, not a lot of walking or stairs. She has since then taken a fall and cracked her pelvis! She wasn't taking it easy (I called her one day and she had made 4 pies!) and there for not healing properly so we moved her into assisted living about a month ago! She is in heaven!!! The place is brand new, she picked out some new furniture, and best of all she has daily companionship with other gals while still having some privacy in her little apartment. My mom and I went and picked out a lift chair for her and decorated her bathroom with beachy "shell" decor and she was so excited! SO cute. I am so bummed that she cannot come to the wedding because she loves to have sand between her toes! But so thankful to have her in my life and that I can call her up to gossip anytime. I am going to see her in two weeks, but until then I am working on putting pictures on a digital picture frame for her. I am plannning on sending her USBs with new pictures everyonce in awhile... maybe the other grandkids can too! Here is my sister, Grandma and me on vacation in Scottsdale last fall!

LOL!!! I can see how that could happen with the OOT bags. I was the same way.... then, for fun, I put everything in a suitcase to see how it would fit. Well, it didn't! OOps! SO I am done until I get there for a few local goodies! But then again... chapstick is really small and wouldn't take up THAT much room......... -

FI's dad trying to get him LAID before the wedding!!!
kate.com replied to *Casey*'s topic in Just venting or funnies
Case... best to vent to us, not your mom. Mom's don't forget and that could lead to some wedding day drama that you don't need! What an idiot! Your Fi probably was in shock that he would even ask... and saying that he "couldn't make it" was all he could come up with on the spot. The fact that he told you right away lets you know that he thinks it is crazy too... so I wouldn't worry about it. As for the Dad... get a frickin' life, right? How many diseases... never mind. Be mad, but don't lose any sleep over it. He obviously isn't. Loser. -
Mischka! I miss you!!! Will you have another blog on the 15th? I need to start narrowing down my ideas soon and get started on my DIY projects. I don't really want to pack a ton either.... hmmm. I should send you my link to my ideas folder on photobucket, so many pretty things! Hope you are having a great week! Kate

So I am spending a lot more than that on my photography... and I feel really good about it! It is piece of mind knowing that when I get on that plane ride home, that I will have something to show for it. I decided to save in other areas: keeping the ceremony decor to a minimum since it is already beautiful, chicken instead of lobster since everyone will be liquored up anyways, and roses, gerbers and other local flowers rather than orchids... because no one will know the difference. At the end of the day you want something to remember your day by... this is the best way!

I rarely drink more than one... I am an old prude apparently. Where are you going to register? I went for Target.. it is based here in MN and they have one in almost every town. Then... I dunno. I don't really need much!

Hey Kate! Not sure either. I would send something! But, just like everything, people have their own ways of doing things... so expect nothing, and you will probably end up with something! I wasn't going to register but was told to do so... I guess some people are still planning on buying off of our registry. Hope you are well!

I am filling a tall vase with turquoise water and having a ball of hydranga at the top and instead of hanging crystals, I am handing starfish. with lot of candles around the bottom with scattered sea glass. I wish I had a picture, but its just in my imagination right now. Remember that hydrangea wilts quickly after cut, maybe ask a local florist for some advise, especially if you will be in the heat! -
