  2. Ok girls, I got my wedding video back... well the preview anyways. The full video is in the mail as we speak. I used Ray from PromoVision PV and he was fantastic to work with and reasonable. Can't wait until the rest gets here but in the mean time this will give you a little idea of what a wedding at PF is really like...... puerto-vallarta-weddings: Kate Lynn & Bill Wedding Bill and I are both really excited for all of you!

Do any of you ladies who have already had your wedding at PF have any video that has audio of your live music choice? I will soon I think. I know it was good only bc my guests commented. My heartbeat was so loud walking down the isle, and the waves... didn't hear a thing. But it was cool hearing it while you are waiting... it meant it was time to go!
  4. yes! And I am going to be 3-0. but we are waiting at least a year. no going back, ya know?!. if it happens, it happens though.
  5. Jennie, I had a friend officiate and I believe Kate L did too so we can't help you. But, there was a couple celebrating their 3 yr anniversary while we were there that had Barry and loved him. Did you ask Lindsay for a suggestion?
  6. Wow Kate, love your review. (Of coarse!) And love love your first dance. Bill and I watched it... it was so fun to see it in the same spot as we had ours a few weeks earlier, although we now feel we should have stepped it up a notch, ha! So glad you had such a great experience. Congrats!
  7. Ok, I'm back... and unfortunately caught a stupid cold. (I know, in San Diego where it is supposed to be warm.) The tables seat 8. I had 37 guests and we fit at 5 tables. My hubby was worried that it would look empty with only 5 tables but I was like "too bad, we are saving like $500 by not having more tables." And the way they arrange the tables it doesn't look empty/ like a small amt. They stager them and it looks awesome. I was actually pleasantly suprised by this. WELCOME Back Kate L! Actually, what is your new last initial?

  9. So glad to hear everything (besides your flight fiasco) went well!
  10. Marie, their loss. I wonder if you could play their little game and say "Oh, we decided that we really would like you to be a part of our special day so we are taking out a loan to get you 2 there..." It would be interesting to see how they'd respond. I think they SHOULD feel really guilty. Quote: Originally Posted by DWandMJ I too have a confession.... In the first place, they make more than we do and from what I've been told, FIs step dad has over a million frequent flyer miles. We showed them alternative hotels to stay at running $90/night and suggested only staying three days as opposed to seven. FI so desperately wanted to accomodate them, and heavily considered taking up their suggestion that we just get married at one of the cheap chapels in Reno. Luckily he dropped the idea and now he's just irritated because he's come to the conclusion that they're actually just boycotting the event. Not the marriage, the event. God forbid they can shell out thousands of dollars to help his other two siblings because they can't be responsible adults and take care of themselves/maintain a consistant job/ entirely get any kind of priorities in order / stay off welfare. But they can't "afford" to attend their oldest son's wedding for less than $500? Give me a f*cking break! Ok, that was more of a rant... but I had to get it off my chest. So thank you!

  13. Hey, Lindsay actually found the vases in her storage which was awesome bc the kind the florist had didn't work at all. I know flower costs went up a bit- so just ask lindsay how much it would be for "Kate's tall rose centerpieces." Oh, and I left the lanterns for Lindsay to use:-) There are only 4 though. Crack me up about the weather! Anything is better than here! Plus we are in meetings pretty much all day, and the rooms are always freezing so I always dress in layers!
  14. Hey Mishka! I wrote my review and there is a slideshow of the wedding here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36446 Enjoy until I get my pro pics back.
  15. Tami! So glad I found this. It is so beautiful. I am working on ours as well and this totally helped. Did you like the finished product?
  16. Hi ladies... I travel every freaking week for work so if I take forever sorry. Next week I am pretty much out too in San Diego at mtgs. Email if you have questions, luckily I have a blackberry so I won't be completely out of touch. My chairs were brown and ivory. I know they have white cushions so they prob have black but they are dark wood anyway so don't worry too much. Mishka gave me a tip to not be too "matchy matchy" and this helped. That's funny about scaling back for luggage. It does get to be a lot. Luckily, NWA gives 2 free bags for int'l flights. Not sure if all airlines do but that was so nice and unexpected. Kind of funny, we had gotten new luggage that was like the papa, mama, baby bear luggage that all linked together and it was like a luggage train. It worked awesome at the airport but we looked silly! And it was a challenge to get DH, me and everything in a cab! Worth it though:-) The flowers are pretty high, especially for native roses. I think mine were around $200. My tall ones in vase had 150 roses in it though! So that made me feel better. And I heart them so much!! Def. coouldn't have afforded it at a traditional wedding with 30 tables!
  17. Im a little late but CONGRATS!!!! You were beautiful ( I saw a couple pics on facebook!)
  18. I know you are having a total blast at Playa Fiesta!!! Bill & I have been thinking of you all week.... especially today on YOUR day:-) Can't wait until you get back so you can dish. CONGRATS MRS.!!!!!!!!!
  19. How fun! I carried my dress and DH's suit on in same garmentbag. Got kinda heavy with the suit but worked well. They hung it in closet bc there wasn't a ton of coats in first class. There is a commercial sized steamer in the wedding suite. You might want to bring starch if you want to press guys' shirts. We forgot that part and they got kinda wrinkly. Loving the color schemes! PS I bought my dress in Costa Mesa at Mon Amie... was very nice. Marilynns in BH is nice too. Make sure you call for appts or they are a pain!
  20. Melissa, here is the runner I was thinking of. Kelly made it and I loved it!! Maybe you will to http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21465
  21. great advice! Glad you got what you wanted. Congrats!
  22. Melissa, LOL about the yellow flower petals! Good idea, let him have it:-) Everything sounds fab. I forgot to say that we did the texas hold'em on the spa day and it was fun. I had never played and Adam is soooo serious but a great teacher. It was fun! I had saved a great idea for a tablerunner. I'll see if I can find it and email it to you. OK, so I have been thinking and our fav part of the wedding day (besides being married) was the fireworks!!!! They played "Thunderstruck" and it was AWESOME! Worth every penny. We did #2 and our guests had a pool after we got home to guess how much they set us back. LOL, they thought $5K easily. Yea!
