  1. Kristin, I think it would be the most economical and you will be sure to get what you want if you make your runners. I was going to say Lindsay will give you measurements but lets ask Melissa... MEL: Could you post the measurements of the table runners your mom made? They looked absolutely fabulous! Maybe you could post the pic of your table on here to satisfy for now!

What is your color scheme? Mel, did you end up getting your makeup done? If so, how did it go? Can't wait to see your pics, bet you looked gorgeous Kate, thats weird you could not get ranunculus in January...makes me nervous because they are usually available from November - April or May. Guess we will have to just go with all roses if the rannunculus are no gos at the last minute. Did any of you use or plan to use flowers from a bridesmaid bouquet for your cake flowers. I want hot pink ranunculus for my cake and I dont see the point in paying $60 for them if I can just use some from one of my 7 bridesmaid bouquets. Do they do something special for the cake flowers? One more ques...anyone hit up Costco or Walmart in PV? I want to get some snacks and things for my Welcome Bags. Sorry, I knew your name was lindsey but was having a brain freeze last night, ha. We were planning on using flowers from the ceremony site on our cake, Lindsays idea and I loved it! A family friend actually brought down a fondant bow and handmade seashells for my cake as a suprise so I never did it... but I think it's the way to go! Def use bridesmaids flowers! No one would ever know or care. Way to be resourceful! We went to Walmart... Lindsay suggested this over Sams Club, I think she said it was more economical. I dunno. We just took a cab and had the guy wait for us, and drive us back. It was only $30 total so a deal. REMINDER: NO NEED TO BUY WATER, PROVIDED FREE AT PF. This sounds dumb, but she said people have come back with it, forgetting since it is the 1st day.
  3. Bunsie! Awesome plans... I love tight packed carnations for a modern and hot flair! rannunculus are my fav but weren't available durning January... roses were actually the most affordable. Go figure. There are definately ways... just be creative and search around before making final decisions. And we are here to help! wsarah, where in MN are you from? I live in Excelsior (near lk Minnetonka). Melissa! Can't wait to see those pics!
  4. Lookin good Mel!!!!! Can't wait to see more. I liked your programs and chairs by the way:) Good choice!

I think the flower prices are crazy too... but to their defense: Vendors in PV are not like in US/Canada. Alot of what you pay for is reliability. Being on time and delivering exactly what you ordered is not a given in PV. So THAT what you are paying for. I have heard this from several other sources on the forum besides PF. I know that Kate and Mel used less flowers and more candles and know they were completely satisfied. I was ok with cost bc I only had 5 tables of 8... if there were more tables I would have probably had to do something differently. Everyone is right in saying that PF needs little added decor... they do a fabulous job, the lighting is incredible.... I brought table cloths for color but I think tablerunners and candles would be fabulous and not take up too much room. Just an idea! I also just went to an event and they had bought colorful ribbon to tie around napkins. (I bought ribbon at JoAnn fabrics for 50 cents a spool)... I think that would add a lot and they will tie it for you so no work! Anyways... if you need to get creative to put your stamp on YOUR wedding, discuss ideas here and the brides that have gotten married at PF will help! As you know, Lindsay is great and loves to be creative too.

We used the "wedding week availibility" link on PF's website to try to get some info, and after no luck with in a few days we tried the contact email listed on the site. Is there a better way to get ahold of them?? That is very strange. Im sure this is what you used: [email protected] right? If not, there you go. If so check your spam filters to make sure you are not missing anything. Sometimes emails with a business name in them go directly there. They always get back promptly to everyone I have ever talked to so chalk it up to bad luck and try again! You won't regret it.
  7. Congrats Andi!!!!! Hope you are having a fabulous time.
  8. We are thinking of you today!!!! Congrats.... I'm sure it will be everything and more.
  9. Sooooo beautiful Latoya! You look like a model:) Congrats again!
  10. Awesome! Welcome Danielle!!! You made a great decision! Playa Fiesta is the best. Best wishes MELISSA!!!! Have a fabulous time and we'll see you on the other side! Can't wait to hear all about it your perfect wedding.

What I meant by saying that things would change after we were married is that the company he works for is large so for most events you can only bring someone if you are married. And now that we're engaged I thought it would be different in regards to that. But either way, I was really hurt by everything that happened and was really surprised when everything blew up the way it did, because I didn't see it coming. I spoke to him a little yesterday. He came home during the day so we could talk while the kids were at school. He apologized, and I forgive him, but I also told him that at this point I just need a little time to really clear my head before I make any life-changing decisions. I told him what I thought and how it was completely unacceptable. He says they will and understands that nothing he says will prove that, only time and actions. All I can do now really is wait to see. Thank you again everyone . Great!!!! Very good idea that you took control of the situation. It is YOUR choice whether you want to spend the rest of your life with him, not his. He SHOULD sweat a little bit after that episode. So, I have called off a wedding before, like 4 weeks before... paid for, planned, invited out. Devistating at the time. I didn't think I would ever love anyone else. And I didn't for a long time, but eventually I met my husband and thank God I didn't get married bc I didn't think there was anyone better for me. I can even imagine adding some kids to the picture would make things even more confusing. I am just saying this so that you make the decision that is BEST FOR YOU. Not that is best for your kids, most convinient, for financial reasons or because the wedding is paid for. It is just money. Your kids will always have both of you. I do sincerely hope that you work it out, and your relationship is stronger because of this. BUT, if it's not.... you know what to do!
  12. So excited for you Mel! Taxchick... Adam will get back to you soon. Most likely in less than a day so hang tight! We had open bar too. Some of the expense is included in your guests' rooms, incl. open bar. It is worth every penny for a perfect wedding!
  13. wow. this must be very difficult for you! I would definately look at having your wedding where your dad can attend, and maybe do a little symbolic ceremony on the beach on your honeymoon... best of both worlds. Are you attached to his mom's BF? If not, forget him. Your FI should understand and be supportive. period.
  14. Thanks girls! I love this one too:) Did I tell you what an AWESOME time you are going to have is? We really do have the BEST LOCATION ever. Seriously. DH and I talk about it all of the time. BTW dont worry about it Elizabeth, we just reacted because vendors have a tendancy to spam on here... not read and post. Welcome to the forum though!

Thanks! It was set, I think the plate was there too.. hmm... when I get home I'll look at my pictures and get back to you! Mel, LOVE your dress! Jennie, congrats on buying yours! I did the same thing with buying my dress too... it was between mine and another that was twice as much... so I was practical too. Looking back, I know I made the right choice bc I love my dress. The other dress was more fitted, so I had planned to have mine altered to be a more fit and flare... but when I got my dress, it was gorgeous just the way it was. It is amazing how much prettier it is when it is in your size and not tried on by frantic B2B's!
  18. Jennie they are all pretty, but #2 looks like it was made for you. If you want it less formal you could go with a shorter veil. I like all of them though! Keep us posted!
  19. Love your dress Lindsey! Very pretty. I didn't have a prob with the petals. I know that Lindsay didn't put them out til the last minute so maybe that helped. She kept the flowers in a cool place until 30 minutes (approx) prior. So that is nice.
  20. Looks great kelly! I am so glad you went with that dress! perfect.

Still waiting for the quote on that one. I was also wondering about the shipping. Originally I was going to ship stuff for OOT bags, but then after reading on BDW that it was a bad idea. If you do ship way in advance, is PF okay with storing? I think that is part of the issue. They do not have tons of room and they hold a wedding each week. They prob don't have room for everyones stuff.
  22. Wow! I am so excited to see what you girls come up with!!!! Bunsie- is your dress posted on here somewhere? Do share! I used 6 bags of petals I believe. I wanted it to be thick... so I think you could do with less. So I was worried about the traditional music for the ceremony bc I didnt know what they had for sound. The waves are VERY loud FYI. But Aldo runs the sound at the ceremony so that won't be a problem. I think it would be cool if you had live music at the cocktail hour! You would get your mexican flare that way, and let your hubby have his traditional ceremony:) Mel, I just got back to MN so I will see if I can get that template over to you so you can at least have a guide for brain freeze moments. Yay! Let the countdown begin.
