Jessica - a site visit will be lots of fun. You'll have to fill me in on what you think when you get back! The rocks are nuts and have a mind of their own! There was a sandy beach when we were there... then they came in as the week went on. It was actually pretty tough to hear during our ceremony without the help of the microphone it was so loud! But amazing and mesorizing at the same time. Can't explain it! Good luck with finding a photographer:) Quote: Originally Posted by mlabbe Hi Elizabeth! I love the photos too, you looked stunning! Magalie- any pics of your dress -

Welcome back MRS!!!!!!! Love your pictures... you made a stunning bride! Glad you had such a great wedding week... especially bc I was one of the girls telling you not to worry! It'll be perfect... and it was! -

Also like Deb said as long as its completely separate and she plans her own thing...good luck! Debs and Yael got it right. Granted I would want to say No way in hell... but it is always better to be the bigger person. But lay down the ground rules. 1. no planning together 2. 2 days after our wedding. 3. no soliciting our guests. When they are at your wedding week leading up to and the day of the focus should be your day.

Happy wedding day E!!!!! I sure hope your day is perfect. No one deserves it more than you!

We had a quicky couthouse ceremony here a few weeks before we left... it was actually new years eve day... over the judge's lunch hour and cost us $50! Waaaayyyyyy cheaper than a legal ceremony in Mexico. It was going to cost us over $500! Maybe Jamaica is different. Like I said, the 2 "weddings" will seem different... but don't worry about it taking away from your DW. You are saving your dress for Jamaica, right? Are you having an AHR (At Home Reception) too?

Hi Elizabeth!!! I just remembered that I have to email you back:) = Shreets there is a Walmart and a Costco. It was very reasonable to take a cab- he even waited for us while we shopped. We stuck to snacks but some of the suites do have kitchens. Jessica- you can check out our website and copy and paste anything you'd like... the other Kate and I did this when we were making ours:) Wedding Website - Kate & Bill -
Oh I am so glad things are looking up! So.... where is your destination wedding going to be? How's the rest of your planning?
-
That is so frustrating!!! I am bummed for you. You could do both. A legal ceremony at home (just invite your family) and have your destination wedding. We got legally married at home and it didn't take away from our DW. Maybe you can just do that and go out to eat with them? Im sorry you are going through this.
-
Oh another idea is a shorter trip for them. If you are going a week then maybe just a long weekend would be more affordable. Check out days that are cheaper to travel on, etc.

We bought DH's aunts ticket... she had just filed bankruptsy and was feeling really down about not making it. About 4 months after the wedding, she paid us back for half the room plus her plane ticket. Maybe when you talk to them you can bring up loan, or as a christmas present for them and you. Be sure to let them know that the wedding will happen regardless, because you have made the commitment to the others. Good luck! I hope everything works out.

I would be happy with Elizabeth, but she's hasn't replied yet as to whether she is available. Has anyone else found that she is not quick to reply? I was also wondering if anyone else is having difficulties getting Adam to stick to his deadline? I feel that I have to keep asking for things way after he said I'd have them by. I am sure that Lindsay will check into the photog availability for you if you use one of their photogs. They do not have a photographer named Elizabeth... so I don't know if you were contacting my photog? She was an outside photog I brought in. Their photographers are Michelle Turner (Other kate used her and she is great) and beth Loydd and some Franco guy. Again, Lindsay will set it up for you if you use one of them. Adam and Lindsay/Blaire just re-opened a week-and-a-half ago so they might be busy. Send another email and I am sure they'll get back to you promptly. Remember that email is a good tool- but not perfect. Especially when their are fielding 300+ emails per day. If I didn't hear, I would probably send another email after 48 hours:) That's just me. Oh and I didn't do a sight visit and it turned out beautiful- I feel so lucky to have found Playa Fiesta for sure. -

Blaire is Lindsay's new assistant. She started this spring/summer sometime and sounds like she is really nice and on top of everything:) I am so glad Lindsay found someone to help take some of the load off while maintaining the high level of customer service PF is known for! -
Have a great birthday lady!!! Hope you have some chillaxin time scheduled.

I think that Elizabeth and Michelle both do great work, but I'm sort of afraid of working with them... After looking at all of the photos it seems that they got a little too comfortable with the resort, and that the same pictures are taken over and over but with different brides and grooms. Photography is the most important thing for me (aside from the saying "yes" part with friends and family!) and so I want it to be perfect. I think that there's a quality that comes with looking at things with a fresh set of eyes - I want to be sure that I'm getting the best $ / quality ration possible. And they're not cheap either, so I just want to be sure. Any bride / bride-to-be here went with an outside photographer? I went with an outside photographer. You can do this but they have a few rules: 1) they want an outside photographer that has never been to PF before. 2) the photographer is supposed to give permission to use the pics on their website without credit to their name. If anyone asks who took the pics, they'll give credit... they just aren't putting any names on. 3) It cost us $250 I think. I can't remember, but it cost $ So for us it cost us quite a bit more to fly our photographer in, she wasn't cheaper for sure... but it was worth it! There are quite a few photographers out there that you could end up saving money with as well. If you need help let me know! I love photography! -

Hi, I still cannot understand why the flowers are so expensive. I have looked at the list of bouquets Maribel sent me. A full peony bouquet is only $180. Cymbidium orchid bouquet is $150 and Cala lillies are only $110. Now if you are only needing a couple of each of those flowers I cannot see how you came up with that price. Does that mean it's the fushia lillies that are the reason for the ridiculous price? Regards, Angela. It is good that you asked your questions, but I would be sure to be as NICE as possible since your WC will be orchestrating your entire event. Your WC can be your biggest asset or biggest nightmare... remember that. All of the flowers you have chosen need to be flown into mexico. I wanted orchids and a few other flowers not local and it was going to be like $500 for a bridal bouqet and $200 or so for each bridesmaid. A couple of things to think about: vendors in Mexico are not like vendors in the US/Canada. In Mexico you pay for the reliability (the flowers, etc actually arrive at your venue on time, the way you ordered them) as well as quality. this comes with a heafty price. My concern for you is making sure that your flowers arrive on time. Flowers are important, but I decided all flowers are beautiful so I want with roses and gerber daisies because they were local, reliable and beautiful... plus I felt like I was keeping with the theme of a mexican wedding:) If it is important to you to have these flowers, another more affordable option is silk.
